Young Master in the Apocalypse

Chapter 225 The Calm

Chapter 225 The Calm

Considerable time had passed since the attack of the mutant salamanders. The incident did not claim any casualties, only inflicting bruises on several people and damage to some parts of the ship. The ship can still sail normally without a hitch.

In a way, there was no significant loss. Thus Viktor could breathe a sigh of relief.

The trip across the Volga River went smoothly. They spent a few hours docked at the Port of Volgograd, before heading straight for the Caspian Sea.

Viktor and his crew marveled at the vast, seemingly endless azure horizon before them. In addition to the new spectacle, sailing on the sea was different from being on the Volga River. It was very rare for monsters to attack them.

"How is the situation on the ship?"

Viktor, who had just entered the bridge room, unceremoniously threw a question at Captain Mavis.

The bridge was spacious with large windows that offer a stunning direct view of the blue sea and equipped with sophisticated navigation equipment.

Hearing the question, Captain Mavis turned around with a straight face. After finding that the person who greeted him was Viktor, the middle-aged man immediately put on a friendly smile.

"Anything to report, Captain?" asked Viktor again.

"Everything's fine. No signs of monsters showing up."

The ship was moving towards the Eurasia Canal, a passage that connects the Black and Caspian Seas. It has been three days yet they had yet to encounter any monsters, if still to be seen if this was simply luck or just the calm before the storm. Viktor couldn't see the future, so he can only hope.

He tried to calm his uneasy mind by enjoying the view on the roof of the ship, watching the female adventurers in his crew basking in the sun. But still, Viktor couldn't stop fidgeting.

Captain Mavis had told him that during the time he and his crew were sailing the Caspian Sea, they had encountered several sea mutants. Among them were flying jellyfish, eardrum-breaking dolphins, to carnivorous seagulls. Some of them do not attack humans, but some were very aggresive.

Viktor tapped the captain on the shoulder. "I leave it all to you, Aye Aye."

Viktor then left the bridge and whispered to the Djinn.

"All seems to be in order, Djinn. It seems you are just making me worry for nothing."

<Well just don't get mad when I said, I told you so>

Thinking about what may not necessarily happen will only burden your mind. Because of that, Viktor thought that relaxing was the right answer to the problem he was experiencing.

As far as the eye can see was the vast ocean. The front was shaded by the wide blue sky and the occasional bird can be seen flying. On this beautiful day, some of the crew were seen fishing for mutant fish on the ship's deck, doing so to stop up on food reserves. Because there were not many activities to do on the ship, some passengers just enjoy the day by relaxing. Others spend time at the bar or playing billiards.

Everyone looked happy, as if they were on an excursion. Of course, Viktor didn't want to be left behind.

He decided to join in the fun.

Sunbathe on the roof of the boat, only with shorts and sunglasses. He was reclining on a lounger, over his head a large umbrella, and right next to him was a small round table with a glass of cocktail on it.

Before him was the sight of the women splashing in the plastic pool. Jessie in a tantalizing white bikini playing with Liza, splashing the innocent girl while laughing out loud. Liza, like a child, also laughed in her black bloomers.

Of course, the two of them weren't the only eye candy. Two female members of Heaven's Will seemed to be basking in the warm sunlight. The bikinis they wear were no less sexy.

"Heaven in the middle of the apocalypse. Enjoy what you lie about."

Viktor took a sip of his cold mojito cocktail and let out a satisfied sigh. He was not alone, a red-haired woman in a black suit accompanied him. She sat on a lounger and under the shade of a shady umbrella.

"You sure you don't want to join them, Viez? I bet you are not less stunning compared to them." Viktor said with a straw stuck in his mouth.

At those words, the woman he was talking to smiled wryly in response. "You want me to be part of your spectacle. No, thank you."

Hearing Viez's answer, Viktor chuckled. "Well, I guess you can just watch me join them. It's time for me to get wet."

He quickly threw the nearby swim buoy into the 10-square-meter round blue plastic pool in front of him, after taking a deep dive in the pool, he quickly came out to the surface and lay down comfortably on the float.

The sensation of warm sunlight hitting his skin. Part of his body felt the cold from the pool water. A cool sea breeze blew Viktor's face. The laughter of women and the sound of splashing water tickled his ears.

This was the most relaxed moment that Viktor had not felt in a long time. So far, he only threw himself into alcohol if he wanted to stretch the nerves of his muscles. Nothing can beat the pleasure of being one with nature.

In that soothing moment, the annoying voice made its appearance again.

<I don't think that now is not a good time to relax>

"No! No!.. Please don't bother me… this is the perfect time.. I really need this.."

<Well I warned you>

When it finally turned quiet, this time a wet hand patted his chest, then his body was shaken.

"Viktor! Viktor!!"

Hissing with annoyance at having his relaxing moment interrupted, Viktor removed his glasses with a scowl and snapped at the person. "What?!"

Jessie seemed to be pointing to the sky, her hands were trembling, and her breath was short. She was about to say something, but it was as if what she wanted to say was stuck in her throat, unable to come out.

Suddenly, the warm sunlight turned into a dark shadow. Spontaneously, curiosity arose in his mind. The moment he raised his head, his eyes opened wide at the sight he was seeing.

"W-what the hell?!"

The sound of waves crashing echoed in the air. Drops of seawater fell heavily like rain. A giant tentacle arm the size of a truck had covered their view of the sky. Instantly, terrified screams started to be heard as the tentacle fell and smashed the ship.

Everyone on the roof of the ship was running.

The atmosphere of the mega yacht which was once calm and luxurious became shattered when a Creature emerged from the sea.

Viktor was still fixated on the monster's figure, his jaw agape. He didn't expect to see a monster that he heard about in fairy tales and appeared in American films.

"It's a freakin' Kraken!!"
