You Cultivate, I Farm

Chapter 53

Chapter 53

"Still, the Firefly Grass remains honest and straightforward. It grows abundantly, with a simple cultivation method, and importantly, it rewards cultivation."

Lu Xuan surveyed the surroundings of the Spirit Field. Each spirit plant had its unique characteristics: the Steel Blade Grass, a second-grade sword grass; the Blood Jade Ginseng, fostering tangled relationships and internal conflicts; the Dark Marrow Fungus, preferring the company of decay in shadowy corners; and the Clear Spirit Tea, thriving with the nourishment of spirit spring water...

In comparison, the Firefly Grass seemed quite reliable.

Lu Xuan walked around the area where the Firefly Grass grew and harvested twelve mature Firefly Grass plants.

Among them, four were of good quality, six were of superior quality, and the remaining two were of perfect and effortlessly high quality.

Over half of the Firefly Grass in the Spirit Field had been harvested, leaving only thirty-nine plants out of an initial one hundred, all nearing maturity.

Among the twelve white light clusters that appeared, four were cultivation rewards: two granted six months of progress, and two granted nine months, totaling an additional two and a half years of progress.

"Another two and a half years. Seems like I have a connection with this number," Lu Xuan remarked, recalling it wasn't the first time he gained exactly two and a half years of progress.

He circulated his spiritual power, calming the surging energy to further stabilize his sixth-level Qi cultivation.

Three of the white light clusters brought three first-grade talismans: the Sword Qi Talisman, Expelling Evil Talisman, and Explosive Flame Talisman, which Lu Xuan stored in his storage bag.

Three other white light clusters presented three low-level techniques: two Wood Growth Techniques and one Earth Attraction Technique.

Lu Xuan absorbed them, deepening his understanding of the two techniques. His Earth Attraction Technique had reached a rudimentary level, while his Wood Growth Technique had achieved mastery. This increased the speed and quantity of gathering wood elemental energy, enhancing the cultivation effects on spirit plants.

The two perfect-quality Firefly Grass plants generated two white light clusters. One unveiled the first-grade technique, the Golden Sword Technique. As the cluster melded into him, Lu Xuan felt a surge of comprehension, reaching a new level in understanding this sword art.

With a thought, a golden sword qi shot out from his fingertips. It seemed alive, swirling around him, forming a golden barrier as its speed increased, leaving behind golden streaks akin to a shield centered around him.

After about a dozen breaths, the sword qi gradually dissipated, and the golden afterimages faded, eventually disappearing.

"The casting speed is remarkable, nearly instantaneous. I have reached a stage where I can control the sword qi at will, and it can linger in the external environment for a longer duration," Lu Xuan contemplated, dissecting the nuances of his experience with the Golden Sword Technique.

The other white light cluster presented a formula for a first-grade Primordial Nourishing Pill, enhancing Lu Xuan's understanding of refining such elixirs.

"Why not gather more of these formulae experiences? When the time comes, I'll refine the highest quality pills right away," Lu Xuan pondered, realizing he had already consumed several formulae and was not short of them at the moment.

With twenty-six mature Firefly Grass plants in his storage bag, nearing its limit, Lu Xuan decided to visit the Hundred Herbs Hall to store them and explore the freelance market for snake-like demonic beast blood.

At the fragrant and bustling main hall of the Hundred Herbs Hall:

Steward He noticed Lu Xuan's arrival and set aside his tasks.

"Lu lad, here again? How's your merchandise this time?" He inquired.

"The goods are fine, but it depends on whether you've got enough spirit stones, old man." Lu Xuan lightly tapped the wooden counter in front of Steward He, raising an eyebrow.

"You're cheeky, but still catching your breath." Steward He grunted, disliking Lu Xuan's smug demeanor.

"Speaking of it, how much of our Hundred Herbs Hall's wealth do your spirit plants consume? One percent? Or perhaps one in a thousand?" he retorted.

"Heh, our Hundred Herbs Hall is quite well-off," Lu Xuan grinned, grabbing a cup of steaming spirit tea from the attendant.

"Have some tea, sir."

"You've got quite an eye," Steward He chuckled.

"Show me the Firefly Grass you brought."

Lu Xuan restrained his smile, adjusted his demeanor, and presented the twenty-six mature Firefly Grass plants from his storage bag.

The thin, old man nodded repeatedly, examining the quality of the Firefly Grass while counting, organizing them by quality.

"Total of twenty-six Firefly Grass plants: eight of good quality, thirteen superior, and five perfect."

Accustomed to Lu Xuan's performance, the old man mentioned the prices, adhering to the previous rates based on quality.

"That sums up to ninety-six spirit stones plus ten broken ones, correct?"

"You've got a sharp mind, no mistake there," Lu Xuan confirmed, glancing at the stones before stowing them away.

After a brief conversation, Lu Xuan prepared to leave when a familiar voice detained him just outside the hall.

"Lu friend, please wait."

Turning, Lu Xuan saw a fourth-level Qi cultivator, one of the three cultivators who had bought cultivation methods from him.

"Zhou friend, what's the matter?" Lu Xuan inquired.

"I just saw the Firefly Grass you gave to Steward He. Truly exceptional, mostly superior or even perfect. I cultivated using your method, and my yield seems vastly inferior."

Zhou's lips quivered slightly as he spoke.

"So, you suspect I've hidden something? Not told you everything?" Lu Xuan's expression turned cold.
