Chapter 83: Bantay's Rampage
Chapter 83: Bantay's Rampage
Using an illusion needed Mental Energy. Stronger Mental Energy meant stronger illusion. World Energy was just a determining factor on how much skill you could cast and how long were you able to use illusion continuously.
To make an analogy, World Energy served as a 'fuel' while the other kind of energy such as Mental Energy, Spiritual Energy, etc. were the 'car, yacht, helicopter, etc.' On the other hand, the person containing both energies was the 'driver'.
The more fuel you had, the longer you could last. The better car, the more efficient would it be. And as the driver was good enough, so as the desired effects.
But Jim's situation was different. He didn't need Mental Energy to use illusion. He had no Mental Energy after all. He had no car!
His mother also knew it so he made some more effort to use her eye as a converter, allowing Jim to use World Energy itself to use illusion. The purer his World Energy became, the stronger his illusion would be. That being said, purer World Energy served as his car.
On the other hand, the purer World Energy could decrease the consumption of using World Energy when casting a skill but it didn't affect the increase of one's rank.
To make an analogy, a glass of water (Normal World Energy) was simply lower in value compared to a glass of expensive wine (Purer World Energy).
You could take as many glasses of water as you want but your thirst was just only about to satisfy. On the other hand, just by taking a few sips of a glass of expensive wine was enough for anyone to quench their thirst. (It hurts to the pockets after all. So taking a single sip was more than enough!)
In any case, the quality between the purer World Energy and not was obviously different. Those who had only a cup of water were obviously weaker than those who had a cup of wine when they had the same quantity.
As for Jim? His World Energy didn't need to argue about whether it was pure or not. After all, he had the fabled body constitution, 'Dominator's Vessel'! It was a body that could reduce the use of World Energy up to ninety percent! In other words, he only needed 10 percent of the supposedly needed World Energy to cast a certain skill.
Ever since the blue light helped him, Jim was now able to display the capability of this Dominator's Vessel, making his World Energy ten times purer than the normal.
To put it simply, Jim was strong! His illusion was way stronger as well!
Right now, Jim was planning to use illusion to his tamed beast Bantay in order to free him from his uncle Chad's terrifying illusion.
He gazed at Bantay's eyes very intently as he intended to forcefully enter the other party's consciousness.
****
Inside Bantay's consciousness...
Jim was floating somewhere. The place was the same as the real world they were in. He looked for Bantay and immediately saw the other party cowering in fear.
"Don't come closer to me! Stay away from me!"
Jim heard his tamed beast's cries as if a coward child. On the other hand, the illusion of his uncle Chad's figure was just behind Bantay.
Jim stared at the both of them for a moment before he fixed his gaze to Bantay and said, "Free!"
Then the silhouette of his right eye appeared before Bantay. Chad's figure made by illusion saw it as he unwittingly stepped backward with cold sweats appearing on his face.
From then, Bantay slowly felt that he was regaining his composure until he finally escaped the illusion of the other party. The cowardice and fear that were implanted onto him from before, faded, as he slowly stood up with a fit of noticeable anger in his eyes.
Seeing that Bantay had managed to escape and his experiment was successful, Jim got out from Bantay's consciousness as his red eyes turned back to normal. From up there, he could see that the motionless Bantay was now slowly moving. But as if he was a volcano that had already slept for a very long time, Bantay was about to erupt at any moment.
He was treated in such a way, how could he not be so angry? An incredible amount of World Energy exuded out from him as the aura of hostility couldn't be hidden any longer.
"W-who are you!? W-who is your master?!" In the midst of Bantay's wrath, he heard the other party asking such questions frantically but he only remained silent.
Chad was, of course, terrified. He'd just seen something he barely saw in his life.
Five dots! Chad was more than sure that the eyes he saw that protected the beast before him had five dots on its red pupils. Even he himself only had four dots and he felt that it was already his limit.
But the other party had someone on his side who had five dots. Chad could only guess that that someone was the so-called master of this beast. Just who really was the master of this beast in front of him? Why was it that he or she had the ability of their family? Chad could only think that the other party's master was related to their family.
In any case, one should know that many people in their family could only have three dots or two dots and they were already considered good enough since most of them only have a single dot or even worse, none.
As for four dots, only those with a position who naturally had a purer bloodline could possibly have. But to think that the master of this beast before him had five dots! Just who really was behind him?!
In their family, only three persons had such an eye, and Chad could only think of one person who had a huge possibility of being the master of this beast before him. And that was his elder sister, Charley Jabat!
Crash!
Chad was still thinking deeply about who was the master of this beast before him when he found himself already buried underground.
Not only cracks, but a crater was also formed on the ground! But Bantay was still not satisfied. He smashed his fist against the other party a couple more times as he felt that even killing the other party was still not enough.
"Tito Chad..." Jasper saw his uncle almost beaten to death by the beast. And he couldn't help but feel worried. He never thought that the beast was so strong enough to even escape from the illusion of his uncle.
What should I do now? Jasper tried to stand up but he was too weak to do so. The toll of using the skill from before was just taking effect now as he felt that his limbs were going numb.
The ground continued to vibrate violently as the beast continuously smashed his fist to his uncle Chad.
"This..."
Meanwhile, Jim, who saw his beast who had gone on a rampage, didn't know what to do. If this went on, Jim was afraid that his uncle would really be killed this time.
Jim was just about to make a move when suddenly...
Screeeeeeeccchhhhh!!!
A huge eagle that didn't pale in comparison to Bantay's size, descended from the sky. It had four limbs and a golden feather. In one glance Jim could recognize this bird. It was the griffin of his grandfather!
The griffin gazed at Bantay as if looking down into an ant. Bantay then halted his movements as he prepared for another tough fight. He could tell that this beast in front of him was far stronger than him!
Seeing the little gorilla actually trying to retaliate, the griffin was unhappy. It opened its mouth and after a few moments, it let out a deafening screech!
Sound waves covered the surroundings and an angry wind rushed towards Bantay making him be sent flying no matter how much he gritted his teeth.
He was even affected by the deafening voice of the bird. How could he still have time to defend himself?
Jasper on the other hand had almost turned deaf hearing the beast. He also recognized this beast. It was just that, he never thought that it would actually be here.
Among the people around, only Jim wasn't affected by the deafening voice of the griffin. His hearing ability could make the sound in his hearing range be as normal as he used to be, no matter how loud or low the sound was.
The only thing that shocked him to death was the powerful force unleashed by the griffin. Just by a single screech his strongest beast, Bantay, was sent flying. Jim really wondered how strong this griffin really was. He was even comparing its strength to his mother but in the end, he only shook his head.
His mother was just simply too strong! How could he compare her to a mere tamed beast of his grandfather?
In any case, he was something he needed to worry about. Bantay was just sent flying by this griffin and he knew that the master of this beast was just near.
Why are they here? Jim already thought that his grandfather was here. It was just that, he didn't know why. Was he here to beat him up again? Jim immediately felt a shudder just by thinking about it.
Roar!!!
In this midst of his thinking, he saw Bantay backed up. He could see that this beast wanted to fight back even after knowing that he was weaker.
The griffin sneered coldly as it flew to welcome the incoming Bantay. But who would have thought that the moment they bump into each other, Bantay was immediately sent to the ground and crashed heavily on it. The griffin only used one of his limbs to push Bantay's face to the ground! It was really an astonishing sight!
Screech!!
The griffin then trampled the weakened body of Bantay that even after Bantay forced himself to stand up by pushing the ground, the griffin that was stamping his chest was just simply too strong making him completely powerless.
"That's enough."
The griffin was still enjoying the sight when everyone around heard an elegant voice. From everyone's view, two figures slowly appeared, a child and a woman. The woman was holding the hand of the child as if they didn't want to part ways anymore.
"Mother?" Jim and Jasper spoke at almost the same time.
Who else could it be other than Charley?
