Chapter 126: Inextinguishable Love
Chapter 126: Inextinguishable Love
Jessa was still confused how could a man who only had a hundredth of her little brother's strength would be strong enough in her little brother's eye, but upon seeing that this man had actually come from the Buto-buto Family, she had guessed that it wasn't the strength of the other party that her little brother was seen as 'pretty strong', but the bloodline of the other party! After all, he had come from the Buto-buto Family!
One must know that although they weren't included in the top five strongest families, Buto-buto Family was still a noble family of Maharlika Kingdom. And their strength was not something to take lightly with especially their bloodline!
With their bloodline, Buto-buto Family was blessed in Physical Energy as they could turn their skin into a bone shell making it hard to deal damage against them.
And this man actually belonged to Buto-buto Family? Jessa was astonished by that fact. However, after some time, Jessa realized something as she muttered, "Seeing him here, he probably only belongs to a branch family..."
"That's surely the case..." Ben agreed to it. But just after he said those words, a lady ran past him and directly went to the man lying on the floor.
It was the lady who asked Jessa to save her big brother. She was still crying as she flipped the body of her big brother and carried his head into her lap. "Please save Kuya..." The lady pleaded.
"Don't worry, he is strong, he won't die that easily," Ben responded nonchalantly. After a moment of pause, he asked lazily, "What's your name?"
"S-sarah." The lady replied hesitatingly.
"So it's Sarah. I heard that your family can grow stronger by consuming bones, is that true?!" Ben asked with the same lazy expression.
"Yes. But our branch family had no way of getting a bone of a higher-level... beast..." Sarah replied. Although they could consume any kind of bones including human bones, she felt that it was inappropriate to say such words.
In any case, the stronger the bones they consumed, the greater the effects that it would bring to them. If they were lucky enough to get a bone of S-rank beasts, or humans, or even demons, their strength would surely shot up. But of course, they must have the capability to absorb the bone if they didn't want to lose their mind and go wild. And those people in the branch family who had a weaker bloodline was more likely to be the ones who would end up losing their mind.
"So, it's true huh..." Ben nodded in realization. After a few moments, he smiled, "Your luck this time is quite good."
After which, Ben put his bone dagger onto the chest of the man and right after that, the bone dagger was absorbed and entered onto his chest. A strong aura was exuded upon entering as the other party's Life Energy had immediately risen.
"Incredible!" Jessa commented inwardly as she felt the aura of the half-dead person growing stronger in almost an instant. She didn't know who was incredible between her little brother or the man but one thing was certain, the sight was simply incredible!
After some time, the man opened his eyes hurriedly, but upon seeing his beloved sister in front of her, he immediately felt relief and closed his eyes again. It seemed that even in his dreams, he was still thinking about his beloved little sister.
"Kuyaaaa!" After seeing the now conscious big brother, Sarah cried out as she hugged him right away. She really was happy that there was still at least one of her family left with her.
The man smiled, after which, he released himself from his little sister's embrace as he got up. He shifted her gaze around and there he saw the beautiful lady standing just near him. He stood up and came closer as he kneeled. "I owe you my sister and my life. I will never forget this goodwill."
Jessa's mouth twitched uncontrollably as she said hurriedly trying to help the other party to get up, "Oh come on... I'm not the one who saved you. But my little brother."
This guy must be joking! She wasn't even in the level of E-rank, how could she have the guts and ability to save him?!
"I-is that so?" Only then did the man noticed the little kid before him. He was astonished though. The kid's World Energy was too thin that it didn't pale in comparison to the beautiful lady before him. That being said, he assumed that the lady was the one who saved him since there was nothing else he could see. But now, he would just learn that this kid actually saved them?! He even thought that the other party was bluffing.
But this kid, however, although he could tell clearly that the other party's World Energy was too thin to give him the capabilities of saving him, he could feel as well the other party's aura of confidence. He could even see in his eyes that he was accustomed to killing. How could such a kid appear in the world?!
Nonetheless, the man shook away all his doubts as he kneeled in front of the kid, "Thank you for saving our life. I will do my best to return this in the future!"
"Oh?" Ben responded. "It just happened that I need something from you..."
The man brightened up as he said, "Please tell me and if it's within my capabilities, I definitely won't disappoint you!"
"I need you to protect my Ati here for the rest of your life!" Ben responded bluntly as he added seriously, "You can even marry her if you want!"
Sapak!
Ben received yet another punch on his head.
"What the heck are you talking about?! Are you tired of living?!" This little brother of hers was surely trying to get on her nerves. Jessa was really angered! But before she could even scold the other party, even more, the man spoke confidently,
"I will try my hardest to protect my savior's Ati!" The man paused for a moment before he added seriously, "Even if I marry her!"
Sapak!
The man received a good punch as well.
"What are you talking about Kuya Zach?! They are our saviors, why are you joking around?!" Sarah was embarrassed beyond words. This big brother of her was surely daring!
Jessa on the other hand nodded repeatedly while blushing. "Yes, yes, no need to marry me. Just protect me all you want. Besides, my little brother is pretty strong and he will always here to prote...ct..."
Jessa was about to continue what she was about to say when she suddenly realized something. She immediately turned sad as she reflexively shifted her gaze to her little brother, "Are you leaving?"
Ben nodded as he replied, "Yes."
"So you will go back to your family now to avenge your mother. Don't worry I understand." Jessa smiled.
"No," Ben responded as he added, "I'm going somewhere else."
Jessa was a bit surprised, "Where?"
"I've told you that there's a price for the blessings that I received, right?!" Ben responded as he added, "Last night I dreamed about my mother giving birth to me. From there, I learned about the curse laid on us."
"Curse?" Jessa asked doubtfully.
"Yes," Ben nodded as he continued, "The Curse of Lost Memories."
"Don't tell me..."
"Yes, just what the name suggests, I will lose my memories," Ben told her about it with the same nonchalant expression. But in reality, he really wanted to cry now. Nonetheless, he still continued his act as he added, "I will lose all my memories to those who are related to me. Those I know, and those who knew me. And at the same time, they too will lose all their memories about me. It's a bit annoying though. But there's nothing I can do about it."
Ben wasn't afraid if he told all his secrets in front of anyone since they would forget about it anyways. And upon hearing about it, the two outsiders, Sarah and Zach, were both astonished but at the same time, confused. Nonetheless, they didn't try to ask anything as they only listened from the side. They felt that this was not a matter for them to meddle with.
On the other hand, Jessa was a lot more saddened. How could she not if the only one left in the world that she treated as her family would be forgotten by her?! Tears helplessly fell from her cheeks as she hurriedly wiped it away and turned around.
Ben was worried. He too didn't want something like this. He could only promise his elder sister, "Don't worry, I will come back!"
Jessa turned around again to face her little brother as she wore a beautiful smile before she replied, "Yes, I will wait for you."
Although they would forget each other, their love would never be extinguished in each other's hearts!
