Chapter 295 Hunting Grounds (2)

Chapter 295 Hunting Grounds (2)

Slam!

The ogre on the left fell just as quickly and Myriad Arrows appeared above it.

"One other left?" He glanced to the side and looked at the ogre that was still struggling to stand up.

"Its health is down already. You take care of that. I'll take care of the chieftain." Jake looked beyond the fallen barricade.

There was no one left, bar an old ogre.

The ogre had gray skin, quite different from the other ogres. Wrinkles covered its skin, and the chieftain looked at Jake with pitiful eyes.

It had a staff in its right hand and a bracelet of beads in the other. With small, black eyes that almost closed down, it looked like it was about to go to sleep.

And it was much, much smaller than the other ogres. The chief was almost Jake's height, and for most monsters, that was pitifully low.

"So, you are the last one left." Jake stretched his hands and gripped his sword.

He started walking toward it while the armored ogre in the back screamed in pain at Myriad Arrow's constant barrage.

"This one is supposed to be easy." Jake told himself as he quickly moved.

All that remained was an afterimage as he appeared just inches away from the ogre chieftain.

His sword slashed down, trying to cut the chieftain in one swift strike.

Clang!

Jake felt his sword ring as it met resistance.

The chieftain had raised its staff, and it felt nothing like how it looked. While the staff looked like it was made of wood, Jake felt like he just hit an iron slab.

The staff was definitely an epic item, stronger than he had credited it for.

"Alright. So this thing does know how to fight." Jake sighed and shook his head.

"Hu-human!" A sharp, squeaky voice came from the chieftain.

"You come and kill my brethren, you shall pay the price!" The chieftain shouted as it jumped toward Jake.

Jake's eyes widened as he quickly moved, avoiding the strike.

"Damn it. If I knew this chief actually could fight, I wouldn't have wasted all of my skills on the stupid ogre behind me. I would have saved a few for this one." Jake cursed as he started moving as quickly as he could.

One advantage that he did have was that he was faster than the ogre. Much faster than the ogre.

"You thought that I was weak, did you? I didn't hide behind my men because I was afraid! I hid because I was preparing!" The chieftain laughed as his staff started lighting up with a blood red light.

"Damn it. It's a shaman type chief." Jake suddenly realized as he stopped moving.

Quickly, he started assessing his situation as he looked at the red staff.

"I need to stop whatever it is doing." Jake told himself as he moved toward the chieftain as fast as he could.

The chieftain smiled and raised its staff.

"Blood Field!"

For a second, everything froze. Jake couldn't move, but neither did the ogre chieftain.

From the staff, a red light started encompassing everything around him.

Jake could smell a pungent smell of blood that made his skin crawl.

[Warning! You are in a domain! Your stats have decreased by 20%]

[Warning! You are in a domain! Your enemy's stats have increased by 50%]

"Damn it! A domain?" Jake felt the control over his body return and he moved as quickly as he could to retreat.

He spared a glance at Myriad Arrows' fight and saw that Myriad Arrows got the same notification that he did.

"The guild members are going to be in for a treat as well." Jake realized as he forced his attention back to the enemy in hand.

"You irritating bastard." He cursed and twirled his sword in his hands.

"Pay for what you have done human!" The chieftain screamed as it flew toward Jake. This time, though, the chieftain was much faster than before.

It was, well, fifty percent faster than before, and could almost reach Jake's agility levels.

Luckily for Jake though, it could only almost reach Jake's speed.

Seeing that the chieftain couldn't reach it, Jake's mouth curled up to a smile.

"A legendary class' stats really are unfair." Jake smiled as he moved again.

He looked at the skill window that hovered to the right and saw that one of the skills finally finished cooling down.

"Alright. Get ready to play."

Jake appeared above the ogre chieftain and slammed his sword down.

"Despairing Strike!"

Clang!

Once again, his sword was met with the red staff, and this time, it was him that flew back a few steps.

"That staff… How the hell did I lose against an epic weapon?" Jake frowned as he went forward again.

He swung and ducked, evading the staff and appearing behind the ogre.

"Slash of Hunger!"

His sword made contact with the ogre's robe, cutting through it with ease and clashing with its gray skin.

It appeared as though this gray skin was much tougher than regular ogres' green skin. His sword stopped half an inch in, and Jake retrieved his sword and flew back.

"This one is irritating. I need to get rid of the staff first then." Jake told himself.

"Or…." Suddenly, a thought flew by his mind.

He took another look at his skills.

They were all back.

Jake smiled and flew over to the chieftain's side, ready to attack once again.

The ogre was ready this time, and it raised its staff to deflect the attack.

Jake froze though, and the chieftain did not let it go.

Clang!

"Reflect!"

The chieftain flew back a dozen feet the moment it struck Jake.

"Good. Once more!"

Jake flew over to the ogre chieftain's side, readying for a few more rounds.
