Chapter 293 Starlight
Chapter 293 Starlight
"Another mission?" Jake tried to look around to no avail.
Click!
Suddenly, Jake felt the binding force that tied his hands down slowly fade away. The giant sword in front of him was his own.
When the seven left, their swords had disappeared with them, and now, only his sword remained.
The sword hovered toward him and he raised his hand to take it back.
Slowly, he got up from the chair the the was bound to. His knees hurt slightly, maybe because he tried too hard to get up for a while.
"Who are you? You haven't answered that yet!" Jake shouted.
"Me? That will always be a mystery, would it not?" The voice chuckled.
"But that is beside the point. For now, you have a mission cut for you. It seems that you have already seen yourself in Starlight a while ago…" the voice said.
Jake scanned the room that he was in once more.
But no matter how much he tried, he couldn't figure out where the voice was coming from. It was as if the voice was coming out of nowhere, but that made no sense.
"Now, it is time for you to accept your duty as a Knight of Sin. But unfortunately you are too weak to perform them. When you ascend to the third tier, return to this place young boy. I shall be waiting for you." The voice said.
And then, Jake felt a strong force that pushed him back.
He could see the room in front of him warp away, and he could feel the air around him gushing forward.
He was moving. A mysterious force was pushing him out.
The world around him started to darken, and slowly, the light started to fade away.
"Oh god… not again-"
Slam!
Jake felt his back crash into the hard ground. There were pebbles and sharp rocks on the ground, certainly, that pierced his back.
"Goddamn!" He cursed as he opened his eyes.
The sharp light of the midday sun pierced his eyes.
He squinted and looked away, trying to figure out where he was.
The sandstone ruins around him quickly revealed that he had returned right where he had started.
Quickly, Jake regained his footing and tried to organize his thoughts.
Ping!
[You have completed the Mission]
[You have gained 11000 Exp]
"Wow! Thats a lot of experience for just an F ranked mission." Jake raised his eyebrows with shock.
[You have gained a new mission]
[Class Quest: Return to the Emporium after you enter Tier 3
Quest Difficulty - F
Quest Time Limit - None
Accept - Y/N]
"Another class quest. At the least, I know what the hell has been going on." Jake shook his head and sighed.
"All this time, everyone knew about the knights of sin because most of us sided with the Evil God?" He exclaimed with shock.
"At least wrath didn't. Thank god for that. But damn this. Now the game will definitely pit me against the other knights of sin." He shook his head.
He quickly accepted the quest, putting it to the side for now. There was going to be a few months at least before he got to level sixty, and after the last tier change quest, the next one was definitely going to be a pain.
"Well with that, I know that I don't want to take my guild anywhere close to Starlight. If it had anything to do with the Knights of Sin, then having a guild there is nothing short of a pain." Jake quickly told himself.
Until now, he always planned to go to Starlight once the expeditions to the Western World were over. But now, he knew that it was going to backfire on him.
He walked slowly, staring at the ground, thinking about how he was to proceed.
For now, he knew that he had to start leveling up. And he had to level up really, really quickly.
If he wanted to get to the third tier as fast as he could, then he had to bring out another card.
"Screw this. I'll play in the colosseum until I'm level fifty, and after that, I can try doing that." He looked up in the sky with a faint smile on his face.
Quickly, he started walking forward. But a second later, his face changed and his legs darted to the side.
Swish!
A sharp sound darted beside him.
There was a shadow that now stood where he was a second ago.
"You forgot something, young boy…" the old man who had showed him to the emporium now stood beside him.
He smiled wide, with his crooked teeth, staring with his wide, unblinking eyes right at Jake.
"Wh- what do you want?" Jake stepped back unconsciously, just like the large man had once done when Jake first met the old man.
Jake raised his sword, staring at the old man's feet, readying himself for any movements.
"Don't worry boy. Why would I fight you? Now, I know who you are. Why would I ever try and do anything to you?" The old man chuckled.
"I am just here to give you some advice. Thats all." He said.
"Advice?" Jake frowned. "What about?"
"Just a little advice is all. I am just warning you that as of right now, all seven knights of sin are in play. There are a Lust has escaped and Gluttony will soon do the same. And every time the seven have all been in play, there has been chaos." the old man said.
"You may think the knights of sin are still honor bound. But they no longer hold their affiliation to a broken down kingdom. That means that every knight of sin that you see, well, they see you as a missing piece for the sword of sin and armor of transgression."
