Chapter 16 Bonus Mission: Completed
Jake ran and ran and ran. He made sure that every guard in these catacombs died. And soon, he was faced with a huge door with a relatively small keyhole.
Without any hesitation, he used the key that he found on that master.
The door clicked open, and from the small slit that the door made, a golden shine permeated outwards.
Jake quickly entered the room and closed the door behind him. The place that he had chanced upon was something that he never would have expected to get to.
This was a treasury. It was probably the collection of many nobles because the amount of gold that was visible to Jake was just too much for a single noble to amass.
His mouth was so wide that someone would be afraid that it would fall off! That was because he had just chanced upon something that he needed so desperately!
What was Jake missing now? It was not opportunity! He had too much of it. In fact, he had more than anyone else. He knew exactly what was going to happen in the future.
He did not lack talent. He was probably one of the most skilled in the entire world right now, just based on experience.
What he lacked now was money. And now, he had just chanced upon all the gold that he needed to finally turn the luck of his family around.
He could pay back that bastard who disgraced his family, and he would no longer have to go to an internment camp, but rather, a proper house that could sustain itself.
He ran forward, and all the gold that filled the treasury started pouring into his inventory. It took him a whole hour to get everything into his own inventory still, but it was all worth it.
[Gold Coins x 32569]
That number was enough to make even the most established guild right now jealous.
Sure, they could use their resources and buy gold coins with money, but there were not enough gold coins to buy! Now, Jake could monopolize that market.
The next day,
"Your Majesty." Jake knelt on the ground.
The queen nodded towards him and was about to move away, when Jake stopped her.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty, but it is time that I take my leave. I have completed my mission in saving you, but now, there are more things that call me." Jake said.
"What are you talking about? You are a personal knight of the queen's guard? What other calling do you serve?" the queen's voice turned frigid.
"I am not the guard who you think me to be, but rather a person who was summoned by your plight. I shall return once more as a Heaven Defier, but that means not that I shall be against you. Forever, I will be honored to serve the throne. And this sword by which I stand, shall be my calling sign." Jake said.
"You are a Heaven Defier?" the queen asked with shock.
Heaven Defiers were what the NPCs called the players. This was something that no one understood, but just got used to.
"The body that I have inhibited is one of a traitor. The moment that this sword no longer exists with it, I suggest that you have this man killed. I have made sure that all of your enemies no longer exist. The people who had ambushed you that day are all dead, and you are safe. I hope that the Starlight kingdom only has good days from now." Jake said.
Before the queen could even react, Jake stepped back and stood in front of a guard.
"Get your sword ready. Soon enough, this will no longer be the newest knight of the queen, but rather a traitor of the kingdom." Jake said and his hand clicked on the return button.
Everything disappeared, and he returned back to the death canyon.
In front of him, the Hollow Knight stood tall and strong, looking down upon Jake.
"You have completed the quest. You have saved the queen. You used your brain and was able to do more than you were asked to do. You are now the true successor to the Knight of Sin." the hollow knight said.
[SSS Quest Complete! Class Change complete. New Job: Knight Of Sin]
[Bonus Mission Complete! Reward: Decided by Hollow Knight.]
Jake looked at the Hollow knight to see what the reward he would receive was.
"To the Knight of Sin, an armor is best. It is time that I take off this armor that has donned me for far too long. It deserves more action in its life. This armor shall follow you even if you die, and shall stay with you forever." the hollow knight said.
[Reward Gained! Armor of Despair.
Rank: Legendary]
"What? This is impossible! I gained two pieces of legendary equipment?" Jake was just astonished. He already thought that one legendary sword was good enough to spend this much time. But now, he got another?
"And now, I will let these two release their shackles so that you can use them properly. Bear these well." the hollow knight said.
Once he said this, the armor that he was wearing just fell on the ground, and this hollow knight seemingly disappeared.
[Equip Armor of Despair? Y/N]
"Yes! Obviously!" Jake said and he felt a light armor strap onto him.
Jake quickly checked out his stats and equipment to see what had changed.
