Chapter 55
55 Battle(10)
‘Roar’, Sharp streams of blue glowing water whizzed past leaving deep painful wounds in the monster’s body, wounds which the monster was finding it very difficult to heal, the blue water was spirit water and apart from being exceptionally good at healing it was also good at expelling foreign creatures, and unfortunately for the monster no matter how deeply he fused with the plane crystal it was still an alien.
May in the avatar state was overwhelming her punches, kicks and attacks all carried overwhelming power that kept the monster off its feet.
Soon she noticed her slashes were not as effective as before although the spirit water still inhibited its healing the monster had learnt to liquefy its body at the time of attack reducing its impact.
A stream of spirit water turned into a flat shield in front of May blocking the red metal spikes that had spontaneously emerged from the upper body of the monster, the monster followed up with a punch moving his fully metalized fist that tore through the air bringing a sense of oppression, the spirit water contracted and May quickly made it show the characteristics of non-newton fluid neutralizing the impact of the fist.
Taking a step backwards May wove the spirit water on her knuckles making a glove, dodging the kick the monster had sent her way, May leapt giving a solid punch to the Monsters face, “clang” a metal sound resounded, the minster had metalized the skin of his face saving it from serious injuries, her time in the avatar state was running out she needed to finish this battle soon or at least suspend it, with that thought May’s glowing gaze narrowed as she using her other palm caught the tail that was about to complete sneak attack on her.
Dragging the tail she lifted the monster off its feet and slammed it into the ground, summoning all the spirit water she had at present she turned into a glowing blue spear and used it to impale the monster on the ground.
With a hissing sound cold blue air emerged from the spear that was running through the monster forming an iceberg with a blue tinge trapping the monster in ice.
Exhausted May exited her excited state sat on the ground to catch her breath and recover lost stamina when a vague loud boom rang in May’s ears and she saw vaguely a flying figure that was moving swiftly in her direction, the figure was too fast she couldn’t really catch a glimpse of who or what it was in a matter of seconds the figure landed causing subtle vibration on the ground beneath.
May took up her fighting stance vigilant staring at the figure that had just descended although the aura was similar the polluting, horrific and disgusting feeling kept on stimulating her instincts which were telling her that such an anomaly deserves to die now, its very existence being a mistake
.....
. Looking at the familiar face of Layton, May was still hesitating, she had no way of knowing if he was still really him, Layton who was dazed and had no spare energy to take care of his surroundings noticed May gaze he reluctantly sent her what he felt was a reassuring smile but in her eyes was a twisted and scary one and he then moved towards the monster that was his former teammate, with a sick smile he used his finger to tap the chilly ice lightly and then ‘crack, crack’ the whole thing came crashing down turning into fragments.
The monster who had just been freed roared with happiness, but its roar turned quiet when an arm emerged from nowhere and held his head.
The firm grip sent shivers and fear down its spine, Layton looked at his former teammate with his corrupted pupils that had almost been fully dyed deep purple like that of a devil and then smiled, suddenly Layton’s back opened and then a sea of tentacles emerged wrapping them both.
May watched this scene in horror and disgust, she tried looking elsewhere but it was like her gaze was stuck watching the horrific scene, suddenly an arm stretched forward from the tentacles and threw a crimson gem her way, picking up the gem she could see a corner of Layton’s eye emerge giving her a look, it seemed he was trying to tell her something but she didn’t have time to figure it out because a whirlpool had appeared, one that looked like it was an entrance that led to the deepest parts of the abyss.
Immediately Layton touched the monster his cells were already infecting it awakening what constituted the basic elements of its form, and when the polluting essence reached the plane crystal that was hidden somewhere in the body suddenly Layton’s body collapsed, his mind unconscious turning into a sea of twisted tentacles merging with the plane crystal and the monster. The crystal was polluted and with a burst, it started to absorb all substances of the plane that tended to produce huge negative emotions and information, the manic spirit creatures both in the real world and the spirit plane that were filled with hatred towards all life and all alien creatures like the Monk, even the few weak blood kin that were left unattended in the real world and nobody cared about was included into the whirlpool.
The whirlpool went across all space in a matter of seconds, and soon everything added to the whirlpool started colliding revealing its basic essence and then ignited providing the plane with energy to start the process of upgrading.
