Chapter 52

52 Battle(7)

The monster’s skin turned redder as flames ignited all over his body, the monster flew into the rubble in which May had been kicked into, in seconds the monster who had used his blood perception to lock down May sent his burning fist piercing through May’s body.

The monster was aware of that something was wrong as his fist only felt the sensation of crushed ice not the gooey feel of blood and internal organs, Before the monster could think anymore May had already emerged from the side, her palm holding a makeshift ice spear which she stabbed towards him, May knew a normal attack would be futile so she had transformed her makeshift field, although she could not break through level 2 and have a complete and permanent field May had worked around it by increasing her control over minute particles of liquid in her body, by spreading such liquid in the air and temporarily activating her domain she was able to have characteristics of a field without having the field itself.

The monster on the other hand was somehow using the crystal that was with him to project part of his complete domain that was hidden in another space by the crystal, it could only do this when his body was transformed into mist and from the feel of it the monster field was having the characteristics of erosion, that was why it had been able to easily infect and affect May’s perception earlier, making the moisture droplets she manipulated become more minute and merged tightly into the surroundings, so her stab was one in which the whole nearby surrounding helped her to make, the monster did not notice anything until the surroundings oppressed him making his mind and body slower and allowing the spear to stab him right through and the peculiar twisting force from the stab emerged twisting his body and sent him hurling backwards.

‘As I expected I can deceive his perception, and his field can’t be displayed easily.’ May thought while looking at her collapsed body that had been pierced by the monster’s fists, the body collapsed into minute fragments of crushed ice and a thick drop of blood that was recalled back to May and penetrated her skin back into her body.

May had noticed the monster which was evolved from blood kin was mainly basing his perception on either blood or heat, so as she was sent into the building earlier she had quickly left creating an ice clone and sent a drop of her blood into it, as her blood was abnormally compact it could exude the heat or feel of a normal person and that was enough to fool her foe. In other to make sure she would not be perceived as she attacked, she had turned the liquid under her skin to absorb the heat she would naturally exude and keep it locked in, making her practically undetectable as she came from behind to complete her attack.

*Crack*, the monster who was moving backwards forcefully stopped inserting his feet deep into the earth and with a growl snapped the ice spear which had run him through breaking it into two.

As soon as this was done the monster ignited itself again moving at an alarming speed and sending a punch to the abdomen of May.

May dodged the incoming punch by moving backwards but the monsters swinging arm suddenly stretched forward increasing its range and making the punch hit her solidly. It was too sudden and a little bit late for May to dodge the move and was hit head-on, as soon as the punch hit her she had temporarily transformed the part of liquid under the impact area of her skin into having the characteristics of non-Newtonian fluid, dampening the force and damage behind the punch.

Grabbing hold of the monster’s arm May kicked forward her leg moving like a whip and whizzed towards the monsters face. The monsters face turned into red metal blocking the vicious kick, seeing this May let go of the arm she held and used the reactionary force from the kick to move to the side avoiding the red metal tipped tail that just emerged hoping to impale her.

.....

The monster seemed to know he wouldn’t hit her so the tail atomized turning to mist displaying his domain, the whole area started to become infected and eroded as the monster’s whole body joined in the atomization, May lost her perception with the moisture in the air.

She quickly manipulated the water in her body to block her pores and nose, not wanting to infect herself with the mist as she kept herself outside the range of the mist.

May knew she couldn’t go on like this she needed to do something Drastic now, while moving backwards she separated more droplet of water sending it to the air and quickly started breathing in a particular way, the moisture quickly vibrated in the frequency of her breathing and soon glowed staining the surroundings icy blue, May’s eye were stained the same colour, the mist was kept trying to erode the now blue area but failed, the huge spirit energy flooding to the surroundings neutralized the advantage of the monster’s domain, May compressed the spirit particle-filled moisture into a small ring of vicious water that surrounded her.

The monster incarnate as the mist couldn’t keep up with the display of the domain and soon congealed back to his normal form, May taking advantage of this opportunity quickly sped towards the monster, the monster let out a roar while igniting himself again and sending a punch that set out countless fist winds towards the incoming May.

May ducked stopping her forward movement instantly in a way that seemed to violate physics and she sent out a sharp stream of spirit water which cut the arm of the monster like a hot knife through butter.
