Chapter 24
Chapter 24: 2
May watched as the two invaders from the veil left the scene. Although she could forcefully keep them she quickly decided against it, the price to pay for keeping them would be too much.
She didn’t consider how one of them was easily injured by Raiden’s lightning she knew that once given enough time to adapt to the real world their true combat power would emerge, and no creature that emerged from the veil was easy to deal with this was the lesson she and other members of the white lotus had learned through countless secret and bloody battles.
‘It seems I am about to become a very busy woman’ May muttered to herself while looking at the broken wall, knowing that a channel to the veil had been permanently positioned here making it probable for more dangerous creatures to invade from the spirit world.
May walked towards the exhausted Raiden, the use of his unskilled lightning bending had caused him some internal injuries, but she wasn’t worried after all it wasn’t anything that she couldn’t fix, just as she was about to start the healing process suddenly a huge pressure descended, although this aura only lasted for a moment it made May felt so insignificant crushing all her dignity and showing her the immense gap between mortal and divine. Immediately after the pressure was lifted a huge loud sound reverberated around the world.
The sky seemed to disappear and a huge illusion appeared in the sky, an indistinct figure was shown sitting on a blue throne, although the figure was blurry and no one could make out his details, but any and everyone who looked up at that moment realized two things, one that this figure was the originator of that majestic crushing aura and two, that this figure was the spirit king.
Who and what that signified majority did not know the information just emerged from simply looking at the figure but the few that knew what the information meant had a grim look on their faces.
The illusion lasted for a minute, a minute in which all around the world all creatures residents of the world were forced to look up at the sky and could make no other movements after the illusion dispersed everyone gained control of their bodies again with an inexplicable feeling that their world was complete once again.
.....
A few miles away the two figures who had torn apart the veil appeared in an empty apartment they were the two wizards who had descended on the plane with Layton. The vampire looking wizard quickly fell to the ground in immense pain the lightning that had just hit him coupled with the suppression the plane had imposed on them made him very weak like a fish out of water and every use of his rune brought with it an immense feeling of fatigue and pain, the cloaked figure wasn’t much better resting on the wall taking deep breaths.
Since they arrived in the plane they had been locked in that dark gloomy cave with no way out unable to move and separated from Layton.
After weeks of torturous silence miraculously their bondage lessened and they were free to move around the little space available in the cage in which they found cracks one leading to the material world and the other from what they could feel from the blue light a very dangerous area of the plane.
After a few moments of resting in the apartment suddenly they both felt an enormous familiar fluctuation that seemed to cover the whole plane and looking at the illusion that covered the sky they quickly ascertained that it was their last companion and judging by the ease they both felt their companion seemed to have figured out a way to resolve the plane’s suppression on them.
“Looks like we don’t have to go looking for him anymore, doesn’t look like he needs our help,” the vampire wizard said with a hint of jealousy and inexplicable meaning in his tone not thrilled with the idea of his companion having gained the power to influence the whole plane while they were stuck in a cage for weeks and being attacked immediately they got out.
“Maybe,” the cloaked figure said absentmindedly while staring out the window of the apartment thinking of something.
“What? is there anything you are not telling me,” he asked warily his ruby-red eyes staring piercingly at the figure staring out the window.
“Based on the fluctuations earlier he doesn’t seem to be awake, it was probably an unconscious action” she elaborated in her soft cold voice.
“So what, we are already free and are adapting to the plane rules we won’t necessarily need his help”
“My perception is better than you think, I noticed that the energy in the surroundings has increased, although not elemental particles it is some sort of spiritual energy and none of the two of us can use or manipulate it, only our last companion seems to have the bias for it”
“All the more reason he should be left where he is, I am going out to transform more blood kin, the others died getting us out from that place.”
The cloaked figure silently watched her companion leave the room, her face hidden beneath her hood showing her a mocking and knowing smile.
