Chapter 128

128 Domain

The cloak dispersed revealing an abnormally pale man with blond curly hair a sharply pointed nose and beaming red eyes, the severed skin of the individual squirmed together healing the nominally fatal attack the absence of blood red plasma only contributed to the abnormality of the scene.

As soon as the wound started healing the area around started to be stripped from reality as a domain slowly unfolded swallowing the very air and energy around, the sky turning black and gloomy with the concrete road turning to soft but firm soil the numerous building that dotted the surrounding vanishing nowhere to be seen as the only sight around was a gloomy dark sky on a lifeless open plain, there was an abnormal smell of rotting corpses that filled the air as black ash slowly descended to the ground.

“Shit.”

Joan couldn’t help but curse as the environment changed, she was in his domain already stripped away from reality the only good thing was that judging from the feedback she had gotten from her attack earlier it was very likely that the figure in front of her was just a clone and so was limited in the means he could use.

“As feisty as always I see.”

He said in his natural hoarse voice as he roused Joan from her numerous thoughts

“You didn’t have to go through all this trouble, Sandro.”

She said pointedly referring to the exquisitely constructed domain they were currently situated in judging from the solidity of the spatial structure and the subtle circulation of energy that kept it stable it was obvious this was not shabby work.

Although she was not a legend who planned to go the way of domains but as a practitioner who had been taught in school city she was well aware of the intricacies of the path and from the domain in front of her it was obvious Sandro was well on that path and doing quite well.

.....

Although practice was a personal affair there were already numerous predecessors and so the various ways of breakthrough were already codified and summarized into mainly two, one was the advancement of one’s spirit, energy or body through the use of various treasures or insights into various rules, and the other was one which focused on the domain, perfecting it making it permanent, perceiving the laws relating to it and sublimating the area making it become a god kingdom or, a sort of self-sustaining semi plane with its own internal circulation, laws, rules and principles.

It was an arduous path one that required a lot of time and insight but it was also a rewarding one and Sandro was a known member of such a path.

Joan had been well aware of his existence since back in school city and he in fact was very well adept in matters concerning domain perfection, in fact he is one of the few legends who could very well hold their own against certain deity level practitioners by virtue of his profound attainments which was why although Joan knew this was just a poorly made clone with limited means she was still very much alert after all he was also a necromancer and no one was entirely sure what means or tricks lay in the hands of the manipulators of the undead.

“*Sigh*, it seems I’ll have to keep you busy”

Sandro suddenly sighed and sated noticing the quiet convergence of Joan’s momentum, it was subtle almost undetectable but he could notice she was scanning the surroundings looking for flaws in the constructed domain and hoping to break through it in one full blow and escape.

‘Bang,’

With a tiny movement of his finger numerous white root like objects grew rapidly out of the soil, crazily expanding and growing as they met the air soon the simple plain was turned into a forest and not just any forest, if one looked closely it was obvious the white trees were actually bones, the white skeletal matter stood proudly in the domain with no leaves but full of sharp pointed branches giving off an inexplicable sharp and weird aura that seemed to be filled with the coldness of death and the vibrancy of life.

“I didn’t actually bring any servants but I thought this would be a good time as any to get some exercise done.”

He said with a smirk as he stretched fort his palm towards a bone branch closest to him and he broke it leisurely fastening a makeshift spear grasping its smooth white body and with his other arm removing the tattered remains of his severed cloak, twisting his neck, his slightly hunched figure straightened and he gave a whole different aura, the look in his red gaze seemed to echo that of a death kneel foretelling nothing but the inevitable appearance of death.

Joan felt the domain quickly change apart from the emergence of the strange dangerous forest she also noticed that the restrictive force of the space seemed to lessen but in fact just grew more dangerous, the numerous energies circulating from outside into the space was quickly contaminated with some weird inexplicable structures becoming poisonous and harmful to whoever tried to make use of them, the various elemental energy in circulation became stained, the very air itself was filled with various debilitating toxins trying to force its way into every living things system aiming at nothing but causing harm.

Joan let go of the momentum she had been secretly gathering and released her domain, she was a special genre of swordsman that she fashioned herself, focusing not on sword techniques alone but on the purity and solidity of mental strength and mind as well.

The invisible area composed of her pure mental strength was released and then contracted to wrap around her body like a defensive cloak keeping all unwanted substances out as the environment had already rapidly changed the natural lighting dim as the air was filled with grey but colourful smog comprised of various poisons and negative curses.
