Chapter 1047 The Time For Retribution Has Come

Rumbling sounds spread in the surroundings as Ethan thrust his spear in front of him, resulting in a long fissure to appear in the ground that extended for dozens of meters.

"Amazing," Ethan muttered as he looked at his hands, which were brimming with strength.

With the Runic Symbols etched on his body, his strength could be buffed threefold for a short period of time.

Ethan was a very strong person.

Perhaps, far stronger than he ever imagined he could be.

With Chloe's help, a new power called True King's Might, similar to Sea King's Might, became available to him.

It was not a Legacy Ability, but an Epic Ability.

It means that only those who had met the requirement to become a True King would be able to use it, given that the High Priestess inscribed the runes onto their bodies.

However, Chloe had no intention of doing this for other Kings and planned to let only Ethan have access to this power.

This was why she did it in absolute secrecy inside a realm that was separated from the rest of the world.

Even if the fluctuations of the Stone of Destiny weren't perceived by others, it would usually create a phenomenon that was visible to the naked eye.

Of course, the Firbolgs saw this as well, but when they realized that it was coming from Ethan's camp, they no longer worried about it.

"Thank you, Chloe," Ethan said. "With this Trump Card, I have greater confidence in facing strong opponents."

"You're welcome," Chloe replied. "But, remember, do not be reckless. No matter how strong you are, you still won't be a match for Progenitors, okay? But, fighting a Colossi is doable."

Ethan nodded in agreement because he believed that this was true as well.

It had been five days since they had returned from the Realm of Janvidr, and the preparations for the upcoming war were nearing their completion.

The Firbolgs who would join the battle were currently training, while the craftsmen were busy forging weapons, creating arrows, concocting medicines, and imbuing scrolls with elemental magic.

The Sylvan Clan planned to fight armed to the teeth, which was something that Ethan was very thankful for.

"Do you think this will be enough to win?" Chloe asked Ethan, who was gazing at the Fortress in the distance.

"I don't know," Ethan replied, a faint glint appearing on his eyes. "We'll know in two days."

Chloe nodded in understanding, and rested her head on his shoulder while hugging Ethan tightly.

"Remember, we must return alive," Chloe said.

"We will return alive." Ethan affirmed. "So keep yourself safe, understand?"

"Okay." Chloe hugged Ethan tighter and closed her eyes.

They didn't know what scenes they would see when they crossed over to the Realm of the Gargoyles.

This time, they would not be the invaded but the invaders.

They were doing this to protect their own world from those who wished to take it from them.

It was at that moment when Ethan noticed that the Gate of the Fortress was opening.

Even from a distance, he was able to see this happen, and it made him wonder why this was happening.

A moment later, an old Firbolg appeared, and it was none other than the Great Shaman of the Sylvan Clan, Lady Arawina.

She lightly tapped her walking stick on the ground, and from it, a root emerged, carrying her to the location of Ethan's camp.

The two teenagers waited in silence as the old Firbolg arrived in front of them.

"Our preparations are almost complete," Lady Arawina said. "Have you finished yours? We will be leaving in two days."

"I'm almost done with our preparations," Ethan replied. "We will come with you to fight in two days, Lady Arawina."

"Thank you, friend," Lady Arawina. "Thank you for opening our eyes and making us remember the role we play in this world

"The battle will be fierce, and many will probably die. However, please, do your best to survive. Make sure to spread the word that our Sylvan Clan are not cowards. Make sure to let the other Firbolg Clans, who are scattered across the Shire Continent, know that we have fulfilled our vows."

Ethan placed his right fist over his chest and nodded. "Rest assured, Lady Arawina. I'll make sure that the Elves sing of the bravery of the Sylvan Clan."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Thank you." Lady Arawina smiled, and bid them goodbye.

There were no words that needed to be spoken between them, because in two days' time they would go to battle side by side.

That time came quickly. As the sun slowly rose from the East, the Firbolgs rose from their beds one by one.

They had dedicated the last day to rest, so they would be able to fight with their peak power during the greatest battle of their lives.

Slowly, they donned their armor and sharpened their weapons a second time.

They had already done this the day before, but in order to decrease their anxiety, they decided to do one last check before the moment of truth came.

Ethan and Chloe stood side by side on top of the hill, looking at the sunrise in all of its splendor.

"I wish I could see more of this sunrise with you, Ethan," Chloe said.

"Don't worry, you and I will see this scene many times in the future," Ethan commented before planting a kiss on her cheek.

"I'll protect you."

"Mmm."

The sound of bells tolling spread within the Sylvan Realm, telling everyone that the time has come to fight.

But, just as the Firbolgs were about to head to the Stone Stele, to open the portal that would lead them to the Realm of Janvidr, the sound of a warhorn reverberated in the distance.

A smirk appeared on Ethan's face as he looked behind him.

The air shimmered as countless figures emerged from the mist that separated the Sylvan Realm from the rest of the world.

Dwarves, Elves, Beastkins, Humans, and even Firbolgs appeared one by one.

The Sylvan Clan glanced at the hill where Ethan and Chloe stood and saw countless banners flutter in the wind.

A mix of familiar and unfamiliar faces looked at the two of them, their expressions filled with the determination to fight.

The Headmaster of the Brynhildr Academy was wearing a Battle Robe that was imbued with countless layers of magical runes.

Professor Barret tipped his hat in Ethan's direction, a faint smile hanging on his face.

Beside him was the Archmage of Eastshire, Edmond, as well as the other Magical Knights of the Kingdom.

Cedric was also among the crowd, wielding a familiar sword that glowed faintly as it reflected the light of the sun.

It was none other than the Sword of Light, Claíomh Solais, who had chosen him as its rightful owner.

To his surprise, the former and current Head Prefects of Dud Manor, Henry and George, were there as well.

Countless Dwarf Champions riding on War Goats lined up one by one.

Clearly, they were ready to fight a battle far away from the cold north that they called home.

The Elves and Fairies had also come, bringing with them members of the Firbolg Clans who had decided to fight alongside the Sylvan Clan.

Ethan's gaze then landed on a person wearing a mask, who he knew had played a very important role in his life.

The young man's adopted father and current Head of the Magistratus, Wallace, who was known by his peers as Gaeneron, stood tall and proud.

Behind him, a hundred Magistratus, who were considered the strongest Wizards of the World, stood in silence.

"Are we late to the party?" Lyall asked with a devilish smile plastered on her face.

"No," Ethan replied. "You came right on time."

"Good," Professor Rinehart commented. "Time to put an end to this madness."

Sebastian and Ethan's Other half, glanced at each other and smiled.

'It's time to give them a taste of their own medicine,' Sebastian said with his arms crossed over his chest.

'Indeed,' Ethan's Other Half replied. 'The time for retribution has come.'

Ethan couldn't help but laugh internally as he led everyone towards the Fortress of the Sylvan Clan.

Continue your journey on empire

This day was not an ordinary day.

This was the day that they would fight and make the invaders realize that, if they could invade their worlds, they could do the same and raid their worlds as well.
