Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 32

Chapter 32: A Man’s Way of Communication

“AHHH!!! DON’T GIVE ME THIS TYPE OF TOY TANK! PLEASEEEE! I’ll give you all of the treasure that is in my vault! At least give me something that is a little stronger...”

Before the Devil finished his wailing, Baiyi cut him off by saying, “RELAX! This prototype could still be considered as a prototype of a luxurious early model not some cheap, mass produced tank...” Before the Devil could refute, Baiyi shut the tank hatch over him.

He continued to put the Archmage in a Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus 1 and gave him a sufficient amount of supply and gold coins. When he was about to close the hatch, the Archmage asked with a hint of uneasiness in his tone, “Do we really have no need to worry about that fellow who kept tailing us since we came out of the arena?”

Don’t you worry about it. I’ll deal with him, Baiyi reassured with confidence. Then, he resumed his task to place the Voidwalkers one after another into a wide range of tanks. Soon after, a great war of tank unfolded at the plains. But in truth, only a few players like the Devil, the Thane and the Lich were playing from the very beginning. The rest of them, like the Archmage, were actually enjoying the privileges of a premium user.

“MUAHAHAHAHAHA! I’LL CRUSH YOU TO DEATH! BAHAHAHAHAHA! TAKE THAT BULLET!” Well, it seemed like the Archmage was pretty fond of the game.

Baiyi pulled himself back to reality as soon as he made sure that everyone had settled down. Looking backward discreetly, he was sure that there was a little ‘mouse’ sneaking around behind him. The man with no sense of strength at all was probably one of the attendants from the arena who was in disguise... Ever since Baiyi walked out of the arena, he had already noticed the presence of that ‘mouse’ whose tracking skill was full of all kinds of flaws. Let alone a powerful being such as Baiyi, even a blind person could probably see through him! The man was totally unprofessional!

However, he had not really done anything else other than just tracking Baiyi. When he noticed that Baiyi had turned to look at him, he even flashed an awkward and apologetic smile...

If it wasn’t for the fact that Baiyi wanted to find out who was the real culprit pulling the strings from behind the scene, he would have gotten rid of the attendant a long time ago. But since the mastermind had not shown himself yet, he decided against scaring the ‘mouse’ off and openly walked on the street. After a while, he decided to lead this man into a deserted corner of the city. That place was one of the ruins that was the result of the Southlands Unification War. Along with the decline in population, that place was slowly forgotten and became uncared for. Ultimately, it was the ideal place for murders and illegal deals.

The moment Baiyi entered the ruins of a dilapidated building, the ‘mouse’ who was following him just a moment ago quietly vanished. It seemed like the mastermind had decided to show himself at last. While waiting for him to appear, Baiyi glanced inwardly to casually watch the progress of the tanks war. It turned out that only a few players were still playing. The Blacksmith, the Apprentice, the Assassin and a few others were trying to fend off the powerful attack from the Archmage. Since the game was almost over now, he gathered most of his mind strength back to himself to prepare for the incoming guest.

Looking up at the sky, he realized that it was already afternoon. Only a short time left before Mia was finished with her classes. She would probably get worried if she can’t find me, wouldn’t she?So, Baiyi decided to speed things up and promptly kicked a piece of tile at the dark shadow near one of the rubble.

Out of nowhere, a big and dark hand appeared from the shadow and firmly gripped the tile. A frivolous voice could be heard after that, “See! I told you he had noticed us!” As he said that, the black Soul Armature stepped into the sunlight from the shadow. The magical runes that could be seen faintly on his armour was shining dazzlingly.

Then, a female knight who was dressed sexily could be seen next. Be it her flawless features, the delicate skin of her chest or even the long pair of legs that was clad in black stockings, the idle Voidwalkers who were already eliminated from the game could not help but exclaimed in wonder.

What a great beauty! Undine’s beauty prompted all of the Voidwalkers to sigh in admiraton. Mia-chan or that little girl whom they saw by the lake whose name was probably Tisdale could not even be compared to her. At most, they could only be considered as a cutie compared to this woman in front who possessed both a youthful appearance and a mature charm. Only she was worthy to be called agreat beauty !

“PHEEEWIT! Wow, she’s really gorgeous! I haven’t seen such level of beauty for a long time now!”

“Sigh.... Not only is she beautiful, she knows how to dress up too! Seductive but not gaudy. And the amount of skin she’s showing is just perfect as well! She really knows how to show off the most beautiful part of a female body! Won’t you look at that elegant design of that dress! Sir Hope, are you sure you don’t intend to get one for Mia-chan as well?”

OVER. MY. DEAD. BODY! How inappropriate for a young girl to dress up like that! As long as I’m still breathing, I will NEVER let anybody dress Mia in that! The academy uniform is the farthest extent I would allow!

“Gee! Alright, alright! What a classic speech from a typical old-fashioned dad! This is obviously the latest trend this year! Haven’t we seen quite a few female students wearing something like that in the academy? I don’t see anything wrong with it!”

“Erm... that aside, I really do find this beautiful knight a little bit familiar. When I think about it, I find her to be quite similar to the characters illustrated by the Japanese manga artist, Tony Taka. 2No wonder I feel nostalgic when I see her.”

OI! OI! OI! Don’t you think you are being impolite over here? How can you compare her to some 18SX drawings? How vulgar can you be? And by the way, please come back to the reality alright?! Is this the appropriate time to discuss such a topic?

“What a joke! They are only two mere Legendary Level little fellows. Could it be that you are worried that they might take you down now?” Obviously, the Voidwalkers’ confidence was much higher than Baiyi’s.

As they continued to take their hentai topic to a higher level, the charming Undine glared at her own Soul Armature. Actually, her original plan was to show herself earlier to Baiyi and then find a quiet place to carry out their discussion. However, she was forcefully dragged out by her Soul Armature to such a ghastly place. Sigh... Fine then! At least it’s quiet here

“The reason why we want to talk to you is...” As Undine was speaking, a hand was raised by her own Soul Armature, interrupting her speech. The black Soul Armature moved forward and pushed Undine behind. Half-jokingly, he said, “Let me talk to him instead. We men have our own way of communication.”

Letting out a snort, Baiyi disguised his voice before he spoke, “I have no interest in whatever things that you’re about to say. I just wanted to find out who was following me.”

In the face of such a frigid attitude, the black Soul Armature suddenly burst out with laughter. Then, he threw a standard military-style sword that was in his hand all along to Baiyi’s feet. He then said in a frivolous tone, “Oh ~ Who’s gonna say anything to you? I just wanna have a battle with you!”

Having said that, a black sword that was as long as the previous one appeared out of God-knows-where. Lifting it high above his head, he stamped his feet on the ground all of a sudden, stirring dusts all over the place. With no prior warning, he charged towards Baiyi.

“YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Undine exclaimed in great shock. She had never thought that her own Soul Armature would recklessly start a battle without telling her. Was this the so-called communication between men?

“Interesting.” Looking at the opponent who was charging at him, Baiyi’s feet jerked forward and kicked at the long sword on the ground. At once, the sword seemed to be under the control of some invisible string and promptly whirled its way towards Baiyi’s chest. He seamlessly grabbed the hilt with one hand while the other hand grabbed the sword ridge as he raised the weapon up to block at the critical moment when his opponent was slashing his sword down towards him.

CLANG! A crisp sound could be heard reverberating in the air. The collision between the two men caused a circle of strange distortion in the air. An invisible ripple rapidly spread out from their surrounding. The ground where both of them were standing at was hit with an impact that sent all the tiles and debris on the ground flying and crashing into the surrounding walls. A series of sound from the tiles breaking could be heard resonating in an echo.

Baiyi was pushed backward for quite a distance from his opponent’s force. His feet dragged through the ground, leaving a long skid mark on the dust. Even though he had already used both his hands to defend and infused Chi Prowess into his weapon at the same time to create paths that transfered the force from the blow to the ground, he still could not fully withstand the fierce blow from a Legendary Level being. It was the strongest attack that he had met with since he was summoned to this world. The few rattans that formed his arms were also broken into several parts.

Baiyi’s strength was limited to a mere Intermediate Level after all. Adding to the clumsy and inept body that he possessed, be it the strength or the Chi Prowess between them, he was far, far, farbehind a Legendary Level being. The four levels of differences in the their level was beyond the limits of what his skills could withstand.

Even for the Voidwalkers, to fight with a Legendary Level with an Intermediate Level body was not an easy task at all.

However, Baiyi who was at a disadvantage seemed to not realize the huge gap between the two of them. Not only did he felt no distress, he even exclaimed with excitement, “Now that’s what I’m talking about!”

After going through half a day of boring performances, this opponent who showed up out of nowhere was exactly what Baiyi needed to stretch his muscles out a little bit. Even the Voidwalkers could feel the fire burning in his body and they cheered out loud, “YES! Take him down! Get rid of this stupid reckless bloke! Don’t let him block our view of that great beauty!

Only the Archmage who just won the War of Tanks warned, “Be careful! After all, he’s a Legendary Level being.”

While they were talking, Baiyi used his Mana to reattach the rattans on his arms. Once again, he held his sword in front of him. He did not want to have a talk with his opponent but instead, he just wanted to have a real good fight.

Even though the strength that he currently possessed was only at the Intermediate Level, it did not mean that he only had Intermediate Level combat powers!
