Chapter 80 - Grandparents.
Isaac took a last bite of the food and sighed in satisfaction. He washed it on the sink and put it gently back into the cabinet.
He left the kitchen and saw Mark lazily walking towards the upstairs.
''Yo.'' Isaac ruffled Mark's soft black hair.
''Mm, big brother, you are messing with my hair; I need to look good for ladies,'' Mark said with a tired tone.
''Haha, go sleep; your daily hallucinations have again begun,'' Isaac said with amusement and did a gentle push on Mark's back.
''Sleep...'' Mark said with a smile and started walking up the stairs.
Isaac chuckled and shook his head. Since he was young, Mark always had very mature-like thoughts when he was sleepy, most of them think that it is the result of his wild imagination, but Isaac feels like it is something different.
Isaac entered the living room and sat next to Alice while Maxwell and Isabella were sitting on the other couch.
He looked towards the TV and saw the News.
It was familiar pair of middle-aged man and a beautiful middle-aged woman sitting in front of the curved table.
Isaac perked up his ears and listened closely while Alice put her head on his shoulder and looked at the TV.
''Today there was a meeting between Legacy Company and the biggest families in the world!'' The middle-aged man said with his powerful voice.
The middle-aged woman next to him smiled and said, ''We can only theorize, but we have a reason to believe that it was about White Online! Who knows what will happen in the World of White, but it must be huge!''
Isaac looked towards his father, ''Dad?''
''It was about the next update.'' Maxwell replied; he crossed his arms and continued, ''I can't reveal it, but it will be a world-changing.''
Isabella smiled and said, ''My subordinates have been feeling angsty these days. Apparently, their children are only playing White Online and completely ignoring the school work.''
Maxwell chuckled, 'Maybe one day the school will teach to play White Online... It will change the world too much, that even school system will change.' He thought to himself, but if his thoughts were revealed to the world, everyone would think he is crazy, but in the future... They would think that his thoughts are underestimating the effects of White Online!
''Mm.'' Alice nodded and said, ''My classmates only talk about the game, but I don't really see the appeal yet.''
Isabella looked at Isaac and asked, ''Isaac, why do you think it is so popular?''
Isaac rubbed his chin and answered, ''For now it is because it is the world's first VRMMORPG, and it became instantly famous because everyone has got tired of ordinary PC games, there has not been any originality since 20 years ago, and now that something like this appeared... It isn't strange that it is famous.''
Maxwell nodded, ''Indeed, even though this is the first VRMMORPG game and many others might appear, I don't think any game can triumph over White Online.''
''There might be a decrease of players in the future.'' Isaac suddenly said, but then he continued, ''But that will be the case if something mind-blowing won't be added.''
Maxwell mysterious smiled, 'Mind-blowing is an understatement...'
''I don't like the idea of White Online too much.'' Alice said while rubbing her cheek with Isaac's soft cheek, ''It is too much about fighting; I would like it if there is something not combat-related.''
Isaac nodded, ''Indeed, it is a fighting game, and for now, it is impossible to level up without killing beasts, monsters, or players.''
''Isn't there a support class?'' Isabella asked, ''They aren't part of fighting, right?''
Alice frowned, ''I don't like any of the classes. Being Medic or Healer would require me to be on the battlefield, while the Poison Master and Potion Master isn't just for me.''
''What about Priest?'' Isaac asked.
Maxwell nodded, ''Priest is a class that is most in contact with the Gods; maybe that could be your thing.''
Alice became slightly more curious, ''Priest... That doesn't sound too... Bad.''
Isaac then remembered one thing. He turned towards his parents and asked, ''Is Marvin playing currently?''
''Ah, yes, he is.'' Maxwell replied, ''I don't really like his friends, and I hope they don't cause too much trouble for other players.''
''They aren't that bad.'' Isaac chuckled, ''And they will definitely cause a lot of trouble for everyone.''
Maxwell rubbed his forehead, feeling like a headache was coming when the so-called Group of Misfits entered the Starting City.
''What were you doing today?'' Alice asked curiously.
''Adventuring,'' Isaac replied with one word.
His parents and Alice became very curious about his adventuring, but it looks like Isaac wants to keep it secret.
''What about you?'' Isaac asked while looking at Alice.
''I had to deal with some student council stuff, nothing special.'' Alice replied with a bored look.
Isabella elbowed Maxwell's waist and communicated using her eyes.
Maxwell sighed and shook his head, but then Isabella pinched his waist and whispered, ''Do it.''
Maxwell rubbed his painful waist; he turned his head towards Isaac, ''Isaac, we have something to ask you about.''
Isabella smiled and put her hands on her lap.
''What is it?'' Isaac asked with a curious look.
Alice listened closely with a curious look on her adorable face.
Maxwell sighed and uttered the words out of his mouth, ''You haven't met my parents yet.''
Isaac looked surprised, ''Grandfather and grandmother?''
Maxwell nodded, ''Would you like to...'' He scratched his cheeks and uttered the last words out of his mouth using force, ''Go visit them?''
Isabella smiled and looked at Isaac with hope.
Alice looked surprised. Even she has never met their grandparents.
They have met Isabella's parents; they always visit them during Christmas, and their visit always brings joy, but they have never met their father's parents, and they never asked either.
They knew that it must be a sensitive topic.
Isaac looked surprised as well. He had only seen one picture about his grandfather, and in that picture, he was holding a hunting rifle with a grin on his attractive middle-aged face.
That picture was very old, and it told a lot about Maxwell's relationship with his parents.
He hasn't met them in a long time, and that's why the pictures were very old. But, Maxwell went to visit a professional painter, who pained a newer version of his parents, it isn't completely perfect, but it gave him some idea of how they looked.
Even though he doesn't want to admit it, he misses his parents.
Isaac instantly replied, ''Yes!''
