Chapter 8 - FITTING OF THE WEDDING DRESSES

"Elle, can you open the door for a second?" asked Filia who was now standing again in front of Ellena's door.

"Wait a minute, Filia, I was just about to change," said Ellena from inside her room.

Filia took a shaky breath, then leaned against the wall beside Ellena's bedroom door. "He always lied to me," she whispered.

The sound of the doorknob made Filia flinch, then stood up straight again facing the door. It looks like Ellena is now standing in front of her. She looked at Ellena probingly, which made his best friend feel surprised.

"What are you doing, Filia?" Ellena raised her eyebrows.

"You're still asking why?" Filia looked annoyed at Ellena's face.

"What do you mean? Is there something wrong with me?" Ellena was even more surprised to see Filia's attitude at that time.

"Of course!" Filia said.

"What's wrong with me, Filia?"

Ellena took two steps forward, out of her room tugging at the doorknob. Ellena immediately closed the door to her room. However, her gaze was still focused on Filia.

"You told me you didn't know the person who hurt you two days ago, but it turns out you're lying!" snapped Filia.

"What do you mean? I don't really understand what you're talking about, Filia," Ellena replied as she walked away from her best friend.

However, it seemed that Filia didn't want to give up so easily. She continued to follow Ellena's footsteps as if demanding an answer, until they stopped in the dining room.

"Mr Lucas' personal assistant is waiting for you out front," said Filia, when Ellena had just landed herself on the dining chair and was about to reach for the white bread on the table.

Ellena quickly stopped what she was doing, then looked up at Filia who was still standing.

"You mean?" asked Ellena in disbelief. She forgot that today Lucas' personal assistant would pick him up.

Ahh, it's only right that Filia is angry like that, she thought.

"You still owe me an explanation! I'm leaving!" Filia said emphatically.

Filia immediately rushed off. It seemed that she was truly disappointed in Ellena who had lied to her.

"Filia!" called Ellena who had just realized that there was something Filia had just found out about her, she was sure of it.

Filia paid no heed to Ellena's call. She continued walking out of the boarding house. In fact, she didn't even smile at all to Alex, Lucas' assistant who was still waiting for Ellena in front of the house.

Meanwhile, Ellena was still stunned where she was before. She still couldn't believe that Filia could find out the secret so quickly.

"With Miss Elena?" Alex straightened up, after Ellena was standing in the doorway.

"Yes," Ellena whispered.

"I was assigned by Mr. Lucas to pick you up."

"Okay." Ellena didn't want to say too much, because it would be useless. Talking to Lucas' secretary won't solve the problem with Lucas. So, she could only surrender to the circumstances.

"Thank you sir."

Ellena immediately entered the black car, after Lucas's secretary opened the car door for her. However, she was quite surprised when she saw Lucas was already sitting in the car.

"Mr. Lucas?"

"Why are you taking so long? Are you trying to make me wait a long time, ha?" Lucas' sharp eyes instantly made Ellena shrink.

"N-no, Sir." Elena lowered her gaze. She couldn't help but stare into the piercing eyes in front of her.

"Didn't I tell you you'd be picked up at seven in the morning, but why are you still late?" growled Lucas.

"Sorry, Sir," replied Ellena, still not daring to look at Lucas.

Hesitantly, Ellena landed herself in the car seat, right next to Lucas. She glanced sideways, wishing Lucas had stopped staring at her. However, it turned out to be the opposite.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lucas sharpened his gaze even more.

"Sorry, Sir, I just—"

"Enough! I know what you're thinking," Lucas snapped which suddenly made Ellena silent.

Their conversation stopped, before Alex finally drove the car. Throughout the journey, Ellena was silent. Let alone to speak, to move even a little, she didn't seem to dare.

Inwardly, she was constantly cursing himself. Of course she was annoyed, because she always looked weak in front of Lucas. In fact, she knew that she was a strong person. I don't know why Lucas is so good at controlling himself.

"Oh, God ... why don't I have the strength when I'm with him? Am I really this weak? Then, where have I been before? In fact, to start asking questions, I don't think I dare," Ellena muttered to herself.

Ellena was still in the same position. She lowered her head with intertwined fingers on her lap. She looked at her index finger which had not stopped moving, indicating awkwardness.

Meanwhile, Lucas looked busy with the phone in his hand. He didn't want to invite Ellena to talk. However, every now and then he glanced at Ellena, who looked so nervous beside him, that the car stopped in front of a boutique they had visited two days ago.

Ellena and Lucas immediately got off, after Alex opened the car door for them.

Same as before. Several boutique employees seemed to welcome them with friendly and bright smiles. In fact, this time Merry also welcomed their arrival.

"Welcome, Mr. Lucas," said Merry.

"What about the wedding dress I ordered?" Lucas asked as he looked at Merry who was standing in front of him.

"We have prepared, Sir. Please, wait a moment."

Merry immediately asked one of the employees to get the wedding dress in question.

"This dress was deliberately designed by a well-known international designer. We make sure that no one will match this dress, because it was deliberately designed specifically for your order," Merry explained, after one of her employees gave the dress to her.

Lucas looked at the dress from top to bottom. Unlike the previous dress model. This dress has an off-shoulder model. It looks more luxurious than the previous dress, but still looks elegant. From the first time she saw it, Lucas fell in love with the dress.

Without waiting long they immediately did the fitting of the wedding dress. Not only Ellena, but Lucas as well.

"How much does everything cost?" Lucas asked, after finishing the wedding dress fitting activity.

"200 billion rupiah, Sir."

Merry's answer managed to make Ellena widen. She couldn't believe that she would wear a dress at such a fantastic price. The price of the dress seemed to make her feel hot and cold all over her body.

Ellena thought, with that much money she could pay off her father's debts. In fact, the rest she can use to buy a house. However, Lucas easily spent that much money, just for a pair of wedding dresses. It's really amazing. Do all rich people always spend like that? Mind it at that time.

"Come on, let's go! There's something I want to talk to you about," Lucas said to Ellena, after he finished paying for the wedding dress directly to Merry, the manager of the boutique.

It was an honor for them to be visited by a famous person like Lucas, so Merry herself stepped in to serve.

"Thank you for visiting, Sir," said Merry, when Lucas and Ellena were about to leave the place.
