Chapter 45: Ruins of Marten-final
Chapter 45: Ruins of Marten-final
"Aside from HP and mana potions, 36 Augment stones, 3 Gold grade equipment, and a useless skill book. I guess, my luck isn't much."
Williard sighed as he looked at the gains from the battle and then turned his head aside and asked, "SnowDew, did you find any good things?"
With a sad look on her face, Snow Dew replied, "other than this big Augment stone which raises my equipment level to +10, and four other gold grade equipment, there aren't any good drops. Today isn't our day."
Wil stared at her for a while before turning away his attention towards the Tree and then the door at the end of the Hall.
"Hmm, should I first secure the bey leaf or should I go and enter that chamber. Let's just go to the chamber. Even if something happens, I can always come to this place with level 200 guards."
Wil then started to walk without looking back while giving a command, "Remia, follow me. SnowDew, you can either stay here or you can follow me. Make your choice."
Remia silently followed him like before as her eyes glowed red for a second before disappearing, SnowDew, on the other hand, was hesitating as she never made a choice by herself. From her childhood, everything was decided pretty much by her dad.
So, when the opportunity arrived, she can't help but hesitate.
Meanwhile, Wil, who was walking away without any care mumbled, "well, there's no response from her. It seemed like she wants to stay. Maybe, she was communicating with Flame Emperor? Either way, it doesn't matter."
As he reached halfway and passed the tree, Wil heard a shout from behind, "wait for me, Big Brother Time Traveler. I'll come with you."
Wil stopped walking and turned his head to see the little teenage girl flapped her wings and used Dash to quickly caught up with him.
Unknowingly, a smile appeared on Wil's face as he saw the seriousness on the adorable girl's face.
After a while, as both of them reached the door, Wil hesitated for a second before looking back at the tree and opened it only to see the final chamber with a tomb in the middle of it.
There are no skeletons, treasures, weapons present in the room. Just as he stepped inside the room, the three of them received notifications.
*Ding. Congratulations, you successfully completed the quest. You received 2,000,000 EXP, 3 Gold, A random Epic grade equipment.
Wil received additional notifications like others regarding the random equipment.
*Ding. Congratulations, You received Saint's Necklace.
Beside him, SnowDew's face lit up in excitement, "Big Brother, I received epic grade equipment called Saint's Blaster. Its level is 150."
Wil nodded with a smile, "Good. Since we have completed our quest, then, let's return?"
As Snow Dew nodded in reply, a panicked expression appeared on Remia while she stayed outside of the chamber. She quickly controlled her expression as she asked, "What about the Tomb? We have come so far. Why not open it? Maybe, there are treasures buried within. I heard that ancient people do that often."
"That makes sense, Big Brother, shall we open the Tomb?"
As SnowDew agreed with Remia, Wil said, "are we grave diggers or something? Looking at all this, we can say whoever is resting there is a highly respected individual. It is disrespectful to the dead to open her tomb for items.
Moreover, we have done our quest, anyway. Let's go back, SnowDew."
As he turned away and stepped outside while dragging SnowDew with him, Remia tried to stop them once again, "wait. Just taking a look inside without taking any items wouldn't be considered disrespectful, right?"
While SnowDew looked at her strangely because of her unusual behavior, Wil replied indifferently, "if you wanted to see her so much, you can open it and see for yourself, Remia. I have no objection to that."
Upon hearing his reply, Remia's expression changed as she stayed on the spot without moving.
Seeing her, Wil smirked, "Why? You can't go and unseal your master, Remia? Or should I call you Aerona?"
"What!" SnowDew was stunned on the spot while Remia stared at him silently for a few seconds before opening her mouth, "when did you figure it out?"
As her eyes started glowing red, Wil folded his hands behind and replied, "you mean about the fact that you possessed Remia? I started to suspect you from the start. The moment you said you are perfectly fine without any debuffs.
How can you be fine when all of us received the curse as soon as we entered this land.
My suspicions grew up as you spoke casually with me and I knew Remia will never speak to me that way. She always adds Lord to my name and speaks to me like a servant.
I confirmed it the moment you were able to handle a corrupted legendary sword without any problems. To do that, you must be either a truly strong spirit or a demon.
I don't know what your power is but at least, one of them is to control the skeletons and take possession of others. That's why I only let you fight alone against the enemies.
Just to show that I have the ability to kill you even if you have a legendary weapon in your hands, I purposely showed you my power of Absolute freezing.
I expected that you will co-operate as long as Huxley and Hiro are around but I didn't expect you will continue your Act even after they were killed and I expected to fight against both of you.
At first, I thought you were some minion but only after seeing the empty chamber with no guardian and hearing out your suggestion to open the Tomb, I finally understood your purpose and figured out your true identity.
You want us to open the Tomb and revive Marten, right? You can't afford to kill us. Why? Because we are immortals. We don't possess true death. I think it might also be the reason you choose Remia instead of me."
As both of the ladies stupified on the spot, Remia/Aerona quickly came out of her senses and nodded with a sigh as she sat down on the floor, "yeah, that's right. I'm Aerona and my intention is for you to open the tomb but you were wrong about two things.
First, she isn't my master. She is my mother. Second, even if you open the tomb, she can't be revived. It's already been so long.
More than 2000 years ago, a powerful person with wings like you but with one black wing raided our forest. All of our people were killed. I was quite close to becoming an Ascended but still, he was too strong for me.
Before my death, I activated a special technique that let my spirit possess another living being. But, before I take over another body, that b*****d sealed me inside a stone head at the first chamber.
Even though I heard my mother took revenge for me, she also had grave injuries in the battle and soon she died while I wasn't able to see her once. I only wished to see her even if it's just a skeleton.
I don't know why but the seal was broken the moment you guy stepped inside the chamber."
Listening to her story, as SnowDew looked at her in pity, Wil asked indifferently, "Is Remia still alive?"
"She? I'm sorry but my possession kills others. So, she has perished. This body is basically considered dead. Maybe, that's why I can't enter the chamber. Once you open the tomb, the seals on the outside will disappear and I can enter the chamber. I hope you do me this favor."
Upon hearing her, Wil then replied, "let's make a deal. Find a Bey Leaf from that tree and I'll open the Tomb for you."
"Bey Leaf? What is that?" wondered SnowDew.
Meanwhile, Aerona smiled, "it's very easy for me to spot. Just a second."
She quickly dashed towards the tree and stopped before it. After scanning it for a few seconds, She quickly jumped and cut three branches and then took three leaves and examined them for a second before bringing it back to him.
As she handed over the three leaves, Wil was taken aback to see the task was completed so quickly. He even inspected to confirm it. All three of them showed the same.
Bey Leaf
Description: A leaf that sprouts on the Ablorn tree every thousand years as it continues to absorb magic energy from the surroundings.
"Now, will you open the tomb?"
Wil nodded and turned around to walk towards the chamber again while SnowDew and Aerona followed him.
Entering the chamber again, Wil walked towards the tomb while SnowDew stuck to him like a baby bird.
As both of them pushed the slab together away, Wil saw a beautiful girl with long pointy ears in a sleeping posture folding both of her hands.
All of a sudden, Remia who entered the chamber fainted on the ground while the beautiful female elf opened her eyes.
