VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn

Chapter 72 Dragomancer's Legacy

Arthur almost stumbled from the voice but held on.

The voice that Arthur heard was unlike anything he had heard before. The power within it was all-encompassing and hammered onto his very mind. While he had seen several other impressive things in Morpheus Online before, this was the most different.

He almost couldn't believe that there could be something like this.

'So this is what a quest like this can entail?' Arthur wondered.

>Quest Completed!<

——

Quest: Search for Kestrel

Info: Find the Tomb of Kestrel and uncover the treasure that lies within.

Grade: Epic

Difficulty: Hard

Reward: Trial of the Dragomancer!

——

And just like that the quest that Arthur had obtained in the ruins had been completed. Though the reward that it was giving was not something that would be normally expected.

'It's basically the same as giving a quest as a reward for another quest.' Arthur thought to himself.

Thankfully for him, he already knew about it and was prepared for it.

"I have already finished it!" Arthur said before summoning his pet for the first time.

The air in front of him flickered before the Great Horn Bramble Beetle appeared. It looked to be a bit confused and dazed appearing in an unknown area. To it, the only place it knew before this was the forest and now it was in a dark and enclosed space.

Thankfully since the Beetle had a link with Arthur, it didn't panic and simply stayed as it is waiting for his master's orders.

~RUMBLE~

The runes in the air changed, with new magic circles being formed rapidly. One of the Magic circles flipped and turned vertical before a transparent screen appeared on it. A beam of light was cast from the screen and fell on the Great Horn Bramble Beetle.

Arthur held his breath and watched, feeling on the edge.

After all, this was the critical point, if this failed all his plans would crumble.

"A beast with the bloodline of a Dragon! While its bloodline is very thin, it is qualifying nonetheless!" The voice spoke once more. "For you to know about the Trial before me even tell you… You know about the Dragomancer's Legacy already." It said in an inquisitive tone.

"Of course! If I am to aim for such a great legacy, I have to know that much." Arthur said with confidence while bowing his head lightly.

"Mmmhmm, while you do have the confidence for this, know that it is not without a great burden." The voice warned.

"I shall endure every burden that comes with it," Arthur answered.

"It will also require a great sacrifice from you!" The voice stated.

"Then I shall make that great sacrifice!" Arthur answered again.

"What if you have to give it your all… everything that belongs to you and your very existence itself?" The Voice asked, this time calmly.

"Then… So be it." Arthur gave his answer, silence spreading in the hall.

The questions tasked by the voice seemed rather serious and ominous. But to Arthur, they were merely a way to inspire awe and add flavor to the game. In a way, they were also part of the so-called Trial of the Dragomancer.

If a player did not answer them confidently, there was no saying what would happen. While there was only one account of anyone ever getting this class, Arthur had seen and read about many other quests.

These quests had hidden requirements and the player needed to answer in the appropriate manner. If they didn't do that, the outcome of the quest could change and so would the reward that they could get from it.

'I won't fail at something like this.' Arthur thought to himself, waiting for the voice to continue.

"Very well. You've brought a descendant of a Dragon, and your will that has withstood the might of a Dragon." The Voice spoke after a few seconds of silence. "I hereby, bestow upon you the legacy of the Dragomancer!" he declared.

~RUMBLE~

As if thunder was roaring in the skies, the hall shook with great magic.

Tens of Magic Circles appeared all around Arthur and The Great Horn Bramble Beetle. They covered different parts of their body, each magic circle attaching to a significant part.

Two Magic circles attached to each of Arthur's legs, at the ankles and knees.

Three Magic Circles attached to Arthur's torso, one at the waist, one at the Navel and one at the Chest.

Two Magic Circles Attached to Arthur's hands, one at the wrist, and one at the elbow.

One Magic Circle each appeared on his shoulders, before another one formed around his neck.

Then finally, a single magic circle wrapped around his head.

"O' Heir of the Dragomancers, Thy Legacy shall be resumed, This is Thy Heir and the one that shall bear your burden.

He'll endure your sufferings and bring forth salvation that had been lost.

Bestow upon him, Thy powers and let his Fate change!" A mystical chanting was heard that felt like a combination of a hundred voices.

The chanting kept on repeating and it was as if hundreds of people were saying the same thing.

Arthur felt like his body had frozen in place, before he started to float in the air. The same thing happened to the Great Horn Bramble Beetle.

Arthur's eyes could still move, and he barely glanced over at his tamed beast who was now covered in what looked like a cocoon of light.

'You'll come out a lot stronger from that.' Arthur thought to himself before focusing on the string of notification that were popping in the field of his vision.

>Player Arzhur has become the first player to complete an Epic Grade Quest!<

>An achievement has been obtained: One Who Touched An Epic.<

This was something Arthur had expected right from the start, but seeing it felt great. He quickly took a look at the details of it as well.

<Achievement: One Who Touched An Epic.>

<Info: The player will have better luck in obtaining Epic grade quests.>

'I toiled hard to get Epic Grade quests in the past, and now there is an achievement that will passively improve my chances of getting it.' Arthur felt melancholic.

But this was merely the start of the notifications as more of them continued to appear.

>Player Arzhur will gain the Class: Dragomancer<

>Initiating Class Change<

——

Class: Dragomancer

Rank: Legendary

Bonuses: 1. Upon Leveling Up all stats will rise by 1. (Free Stat points are not included)

2. Class Specific skills shall be obtained: Dragon's Insight, Dragonic Vengeance, Dragonic Assimilation.

3. A Class specific Unique Weapon shall be obtained: Dietrich.

4. Class Specific Quests shall be granted.

5. A Bonus Hidden Stat shall be unlocked.

——

Reading the notifications, Arthur was greatly pleased. After all, this was all information that wasn't present in the forums at all.

'I simply knew about the class and its rank… I didn't know what kind of bonuses it would give, but this is insane… it actually raises all stats by 1?' Just the first bonus alone seemed crazy to Arthur.

Every player would get five free stat points when they leveled up. But this was only until they had no class. Once they got a class, they would get a fixed amount of stat points added to their characteristics. And along with this, they would get 10 free stat points instead of just five.

This was a great increase from before, as players who had a class would be able to improve a lot more than others who didn't have it.

This class stat bonuses also varied depending on the class.

Common ranked classes gave 2 fixed stat points.

Uncommon ranked classes gave 3 fixed stat points.

Rare ranked classes gave 4 fixed stat points.

Epic ranked Classes gave 5 fixed stat points.

By this logic, the Legendary ranked class should have given 6 fixed points. But the Dragomancer Class was giving it to all stats, which meant 8 fixed stat points!

'I don't think even other Legendary Ranked classes had a bonus like this…' Arthur was certainly surprised.

Next Arthur's focus went to the next bonus which was the class specific skills. This much was a given for all classes and every player would obtain something after getting a class.

'Hmm… I'll have to look into their details once the class change is complete. Though from the name they seem rather good.' Arthur thought to himself.

The third bonus was a bit rare, as not all classes would give you a unique weapon right from the start. In fact, most classes didn't even have their unique weapons. Several classes shared weapon types.

For example, both a paladin and a warrior would be able to use a sword.

The classes that had their unique weapons were at the Rare Rank and above.

'What is this weapon though, 'Dietrich' I can't make out much from the name.' Arthur wondered what it would be like.

The Fourth bonus though was astonishing to Arthur.

'If there are Class Specific quests then it means, the class can be improved and grow!'
