Chapter 146 - Under Or Over Clothes? Seeking Advice

The one who felt even more stupid was Rui Fei. He was the one who insisted Ji Yao find somewhere safe only to end up being protected by him while he was being a jerk. Rui Fei sat up on the ground coughing up a mouthful of dust before looking around for any sign of Ji Yao.

His uncle had just got up and he was covering his mouth and nose with a cloth while looking around. When he saw his nephew get up he said, "That's got to be embarrassing. You better make it up to him for the both of us."

Rui Fei didn't need anyone to tell him that. He had screwed up badly and now he had to make amends.. He sincerely hoped Ji Yao would overlook this little incident otherwise he was bound to be single for the rest of his life. He had his heart set on Ji Yao and nothing could change his mind.

He ignored Huishe Yue as he tried to sense Ji Yao's location. Huishe Yue couldn't watch this any longer. He asked, "Do you want to deal with this or should I?"

Rui Fei instantly understood his meaning. He got up and his body was instantly shrouded in a mesmerizing bright light.

He leapt into the sky and transformed his body into his true form. The beautiful serpentine body spun around in the air dispersing the cloud of dust. As the smog vanished he noticed Ji Yao's body partially covered by sand.

Petrified by what he saw he rushed over transforming back mid-air. He landed like a superhero descending from the sky but there was nothing heroic about his face. He had a grave expression on as he scurried over scared out of his wits. His entire body felt numb as he dug him out of the sand.

Rui Fei quickly pulled him out of the sand with a look of desperation. Ji Yao who seemed to have passed out coughed violently as he half sat up. But the moment he raised his body he felt a sharp stinging pain in his abdomen.

Rui Fei looked down at where Ji Yao was touching and his face sank. There was a gash on his abdomen coloured red with blood. A great sense of dread washed over Rui Fei's body and he was trembling so much with no idea on what to do.

Ji Yao could see from the look on his face that he was clueless and his frozen body clearly demonstrated his state of mind. Ji Yao was about to take out his storage ring when a tsunami of sand rose from the ground intending to bury them alive. It could only be the Hundun that was extremely pissed off about the whole incident and had switched strategies.

Rui Fei followed Ji Yao's line of sight and the haunted expression on his face changed to that of astonishment. The sand tsunami was half a kilometre tall and as for width well, it was as far as the eye could see.

The frozen in shock Rui Fei was long gone replaced by mister active who knew exactly what to do. He didn't think he had the capacity to destroy the sand tsunami so he carried Ji Yao not over the shoulders, not on his back but in a princess carry before vanishing on the spot.

Ji Yao didn't even have an opportunity to dispute. He hugged Rui Fei's neck and let it happen. It was either that or he gets buried in the sand. Just as the tsunami of sand came crashing down, Rui Fei put him down and pushed him into a tight crevice at the edge of the mountainous area.

Ji Yao crawled into the tight space that was too cramped even for him. He turned around to pull Rui Fei into the hole but the kid wasn't following behind. It became clear at this point what Rui Fei intended to do.

A bucket load of sand was already flooding in and they were running out of time. Angered by Rui Fei's nonsense, Ji Yao crawled out of the entrance and pulled him into the hole. He had been trying to reduce the amount of sand getting into the crevice housing Ji Yao when he was pulled into the tiny hole.

Rui Fei crawled in and as soon as he settled inside, Ji Yao passed him a shield pulled out from his storage ring. The shield looked nothing like what's found on the continent of Hyesong but he had no time to ask. Rui Fei pressed the shield against the hole and used his back as a barricade preventing the sand from pushing into the crevice.

Rui Fei finally raised his head only to find Ji Yao with his head against the crevice wall his eyes closed. His face was ashen with little to no colour. It seemed like he was slipping in and out of consciousness.

"Yao-ge! Stay awake..... please," he said with his voice getting smaller and smaller. The space was so small that their knees were interlocked sitting across each other.

Rui Fei gently patted Ji Yao's cheek his eyes reddening. Ji Yao mumbled something but he didn't wake up. Rui Fei took Ji Yao's storage and tried to make him open it. He knew Ji Yao's storage ring was specific to only him but Ji Yao was in no position to grant him access.

Terrified out of his mind his emotions became erratic which meant his seraphic energy spilt over. He had the storage ring clutched in his hand as an explosive cocktail of emotions swarmed inside him. He gulped down his tears threatening to come out when a bright light shone from the gaps of his fingers.

Startled he looked down and found the storage ring was open. It became clear to him that Ji Yao somehow granted him access to his storage ring which was beyond his expectations.

He had noticed at some point Ji Yao had changed his storage from a pouch into a storage ring but what he didn't realise was that the pouch couldn't have dual ownership but the storage ring allowed for that. At that time Rui Fei just didn't mention it because he thought the question was a little personal.

Who would have known Rui Fei could open it and do as he pleased without consequences. He hurriedly took out elixir bottles and picked one Ji Yao had used on him before.

Leaning forward he reached out to apply the elixir but there was a problem. Should he put it over the clothes or under the clothes? I hope someone has an answer for him because this boy is running out of time.
