Virtual World: Conquering the World

Chapter 103: Star Eyes

Chapter 103: Star Eyes

As night fell, there was a ghostly wail that filled the tomb.  There were fewer players leveling around and there were only a few people leveling at night like me.  To these players, they probably thought that I was a level 40 knight.  Only knights could wield long weapons like spears and a low level knight couldn't kill these level 35 Hell Skeletons alone.  After all, knights only had a strength growth rate of seven, they were a Job that had high HP and high defense.

I was only level 22 right now, so my defense and HP were quite limited.  Not to mention that I was only wearing Dark Iron Equipment, which had quite pitiful stats, so I could only fight these level 35 monsters.  It was a good thing that my attack was good, so the experience from killing monsters 13 levels higher gave rich experience.

In order to increase the exp of the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and the Ice Wind Thorn, I attacked with the spear the entire time.  Like this, I could also slowly familiarize myself with using this spear.  What made me happy was that the attack range of the spear was three yards, which was much stronger than the one yard attack range of the sword.  This was the so-called length was strength, perhaps it could even be more flexible than a sword in the future.

But if I equipped a sword, I don't know if I could still equip a spear.  My current biggest hope was to reach level 45 and use the Dark Gold Roaring Flame Spear, I couldn't sacrifice the attack power of the Roaring Flame Spear for a sword.  Before Spirit of Grief was set, among the close range weapons, the dagger had the lowest attack but the fastest speed, the spear had the highest attack but the lowest speed.  So equipping a spear meant I had to have several powerful instant attack skills, only by relying on these skills could I become a king!

In the darkness, I kept killing the monsters and felt that time passed quite quickly.

When it became four, I wiped the sweat off my head and looked at my experience.  I was already level 24 and 99%!

I got quite a few pieces of equipment and gold and the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and the Ice Wind Thorn had reached medium level.  I might not be able to increase them any more since I was just a Beginner Dragon Whisperer.  I had to reach level 40 and change Jobs before I could get high level skills!

"Wu, wu"

The skeleton carrying the rusted sword attacked and I swept out with the Bloodthirsty Spear with one hand!

"Pa, pa!"

With two hits, the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers dealt close to three thousand points of damage.  At the same time, there was a stun effect and the Hell Skeleton was frozen in place!

Using this, the Bloodthirsty Spear released a glow and the ice energy quickly spun around it.  The attack was like a giant ice cone that created a large hole through the Hell Skeleton!

"Pu!"

"2748!"

It was a critical hit!  That Hell Skeleton gave a wail before slowly falling while dropping a gold coin!

At the same time, I heard the system notification.

"Ding~!"

System notification: Congratulations, you have reached level 25!  You have comprehended the Dragon Whisperer's basic skill, Star Eyes!

...

I was excited as I quickly opened my skills list and there really was a new skill.

[Star Eyes]: Can see the stats of targets no more than 40 levels higher.  Can also allow one to see through stealth skills and increases accuracy by 40%!

...

I was filled with pleasant surprise.  I never thought that a Hidden Job had such benefits.  I could actually comprehend a basic skill once I reached level 25!

But this seemed reasonable after thinking about it.  Skill books for Hidden Jobs were much harder to get compared to normal Jobs, so with the poor drop rate, if the Hidden Job couldn't learn any basic skills, that Hidden Job would become a waste.

As for the Soul Seal Spell that Delicate Rice Fragrance had, it had to be a learned skill!

Damn, that girl helped Fated Madman extinguish our Xue Yue Studios, I had to take revenge for this sooner or later!

Comprehended skills didn't need to be trained or were split into levels, which meant that the effects wouldn't change.  However, being able to see through monsters that were less than 40 levels higher was already enough and it increased my accuracy by 40%, this would definitely help me strengthen my archer leveling path!

Looking around, most of the players leveling all night were falling asleep and making mistakes.  There were screams from all around me and then some people were sent back to the city by the monsters, losing their entire night's work.

These level 35 Hell Skeletons weren't that attractive anymore since I was already level 25, so I was much stronger!

I suddenly remembered where I had wildly leveled up when I was level 46 before, but I still gave up in the end.  The undead monsters there were very strong and my attack and defense were still far lacking.  Without a powerful mage like Ling Yue, it would be hard to kill the monsters there.

Thinking about it, I decided to find a new monster to kill!

So I left this leveling area and headed south east under the dark night.  The mist gradually became thicker and with my dark armour that was hard to see, no one noticed me, this new warrior.

After around thirty minutes, I came to a misted mountain and there were some ancient ruins in this mountain that seemed like a palace.

When I stepped onto this map, I immediately received a notification: You have entered the Wailing Ruins!

Wailing Ruins?  What did that mean...

There was a large broken stone column in front of me.  When I took a step forward, there was a dark shadow as a monster with a blood red name charged forward.  It was actually an undead soldier covered in armour!

But this undead was different from the others.  He had fine equipment and a glowing sword, even having the royal family's symbol on his arm!

I was stunned, but then I remembered that I had the powerful Star Eyes.  I looked right at it and the stats of this undead soldier appeared.

[Dark Swordsman] (Enhanced Monster)

Level: 40

Attack: 380-520

Defense: 140

HP: 8000

Additional information: This dark swordsman was a swordsman of the human royal palace before.  During the invasion of the dark side, they died in battle and their corpses were abandoned in the ruins of the royal palace.  Bathing in darkness over time changed their personality, so these righteous warriors have picked up their weapons again to kill the forces of good.

...

I was a bit surprised.  This meant that this place was the ruins of an old human country and the monsters here were the results of the royal warriors being corrupted!

The Dark Swordsman's attack power couldn't be underestimated, it could even be considered very high!

I raised my Bloodthirsty Spear and charged forward.  When I passed this Dark Swordsman, I released the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers at his chest!

"1102!"

"984!"

This wasn't that bad, but I didn't relax.  The other side's high 520 attack power had actually taken away 480 HP!

I couldn't help being scared since I only had 1470 HP, so two more hits would kill me!

I quickly swallowed a potion that restored 500 HP.  Recovering 500 HP over 5 seconds, that way I could still fight.

I quickly turned the Bloodthirsty Spear and swept it through the air.  The spear landed on the shoulder of the Dark Swordsman and created a clashing sound with his armour!

"Wu, wu"

The Dark Swordsman roared out, as his red eyes glared at me.

"Pa!"

With the ice blue glow, I spun the spear to release the Ice Wind Thorn skill.  With the shatter of the ice cone, the Dark Swordsman was forced backwards!

I didn't give him time as I immediately charged forward, releasing another two attacks with the Bloodthirsty spear.  Once the cooldown was up, I released another Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers!

"Peng, peng", sparks flew out as the Dark Swordsman lost over two thousand HP.  There was only a sliver of its 8000 HP left and at this time, he finally found a chance to hit me.  He swung out with his glowing sword and hit my chest, dealing 500 points of damage!

But I used another normal attack and took out this Dark Swordsman!

"Hua la~"

With this sound, two gold coins dropped out!

I happily picked it up and continued forward.  After a few steps, there was another Dark Swordsman that was patrolling inside.

This time, I took out the Golden Bow and sent out an armour piercing arrow.  The white light flew across the dark night and hit the Dark Swordsman's chest!

"1584!"

As expected, the effect of the armour piercing arrow's ability to ignore 50% defense really was good!

With a faint smile, I used the ice and flame arrows before using another armour piercing arrow after it came off cooldown.  At this time, the Dark Swordsman had appeared in front of me!

"Xiu!"

Quickly changing to the Bloodthirsty Spear, I swept out with the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and then following up with the powerful Ice Wind Thorn, sending a giant ice cone through the Dark Swordsman!

"1409!"

This series of movements flowed and before the Dark Swordsman could even raise his sword, I had already made the first move and killed it!

What really made me proud was my speed of changing weapons.  After practicing, I could now change between weapons in less than 0.1 seconds, changing it in an instant!  I believed that there were people who were higher leveled and had stronger attack power, but there was no one that could change weapons faster than me!

And using this method of changing between long range and close range combat, I could level without taking any damage, I just needed to use a few MP potions.  The experience from killing a monster that was 15 levels higher was very rich, just a single kill increased my exp bar by 2%.  It took less than a minute to kill the Dark Swordsman, which meant that I could gain a level per hour!  This leveling speed really was hard to imagine!

I went to find another target.  This level 40 monster area didn't seem to have any other players and this human country ruin wasn't considered small, so I could happily level for a whole night!

After half an hour passed, the Dark Swordsmen that fell at my hand could have formed a platoon.  When I cut down the Dark Swordsman in front of me with the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers, I finally heard a "ding dong" sound.  There was finally a piece of equipment that dropped!

A dark glowing armour had fallen to the ground.  It was clearly heavy armour, so I happily picked it up.

[Dark Armour] (Bronze Equipment - Armour)

Defense: 65

Strength: +10

Vitality: +6

Additional: Increases the user's attack power by 2.

Required level: 30

Set stats: ???

(Unidentified)

I was a bit surprised.  The stats were already quite good before it was identified, it really was worthy of being a piece of Bronze Equipment!  It was much stronger than the tattered set that I had!

But thinking about it, the Wild Bear Set was something Ling Xue worked hard to get, so the value wasn't small.  Forget it, I'll put it in my warehouse after changing armour.  If I were to sell it, I might only get a few gold coins that could buy me a pack of instant noodles, so there was nothing else to mention.

I put the Dark Armour into my inventory.  Right now my goal was to get a whole set of this armour, that way, my attack power might increase by quite a bit!

Continue killing mobs!

I killed until the sun came up.  When light came from the east, I had eliminated almost all the Dark Swordsman around me alone.  My level had reached 28 and I had collected three pieces of the set.  I also had an extra piece that I could go and sell!

But what made me depressed was that I had killed all the surrounding Dark Swordsmen, so I could only wait for them to respawn.  I didn't know how long it would take for these Enhanced Monsters to respawn.

My eyes fell onto another building and I fell into thought.  It seemed like I could only go deeper into the ruins of this royal palace!

It was already six in the morning, but I didn't want to sleep at all.  Before the excitement of getting a Hidden Job disappeared, I wouldn't be able to go to sleep.  It was better to keep leveling with this energy.  Even if I had a Hidden Job, I could only keep going since I was at a low level.

Taking two steps forward, when I planned to stretch my head out to see inside, I found a dark purple glow coming at me.

"Pa!"

There was pain from my chest as I lost 424 HP!

Looking up, I was surprised to find a white shadow gradually appearing in front of me.  It was actually a stealthed monster and what surprised me more was that it was a glowing woman!  To be more accurate, it was a woman who was already dead!

[Dark Witch] (Enhanced Monster)

Level: 45

Magic Attack: 280-450

Defense: 80

HP: 4000

Additional information: These Dark Witches were maids in the human country's royal palace.  During the invasion of the dark side, they were cruelly killed and the demons didn't let them off that easily.  These pitiful maids were injected with evil souls and became dark servants (If they didn't act as a servant, they were used as a slave).

...

"Hu!"

There was another dark spell and I lost another 448 HP!

Damn, such powerful attacks!

I quickly moved back and took a HP potion.  I took out the Golden Bow and sent out a flame arrow!
