Chapter 86 - New Dungeon Exploration! A Scorching Desert?!
-----
After spending most of the morning with Arthur's parents, Noah and his group were finally freed from their claws…
Noah had begun to believe that the ability to speak so much without stopping could be a Skill from Arthur's mother because the woman literally never stopped asking things, and Noah was trying his best to answer her as much as he could, however, it was rather hard for him to socialize with 'normal' people… or perhaps it was better to say that it was hard to speak with someone that was constantly blabbering so much.
The party slowly walked out of the manor as they finally decided to move towards a D-Rank Dungeon when it was around 1 PM, and planned to grind as many Cores as possible… Noah's goal was obviously to achieve C-Rank now, two steps before reaching B-Rank and finally having enough strength to hold a good position within Sector D.
"We are now… two steps closer to B-Rank, Noah, will we really make up a Guild after that?" asked Iris.
"Yes, that's the plan…" said Noah.
"Well, Noah-sama, you also wanted to… kill Fernand and his party, right?" asked Timassa.
"Yes… I had thought about it…" said Noah while thinking about things.
"I wonder if you have planned things through… I know that you freaking hate him after all this time bullying you, Noah-sama… but… doesn't Fernand have an S-Rank brother? Wouldn't it be bad to kill him? We might trigger his brother to come for our heads…" sighed Arthur.
"I had indeed thought about it a lot, and yes. It might be too dangerous to kill him for now. Even if we reach B-Rank and Fernand become but an ant in front of us… there is no worth in killing an ant to provoke a tiger to come after us. Perhaps my revenge can wait until I have at least become an upper A-Rank…" said Noah.
"That's good… I was worried that we would be killed by an S-Rank…" sighed Arthur.
"However, we had to fight someone who also belonged to a big family, Emerald," said Noah.
"Ungh… You are right… And the guy was dead-set in killing us because he realized our identities…" sighed Arthur.
"We could not do much in that situation, we were pressured to fight or die… Escaping was not an option due to their strong long-ranged abilities…" said Timassa.
"And even if we escaped, the bastard would have tried to come after us sooner or later. This is why I also want to become stronger quickly. His family is also quite popular, as they belong to the Crystal Knights Guild. Although it has few members, he had three C-Rank siblings and a leading B-Rank sister named Amber… This is why… even if today, we have to grind as much as possible even if it implies not resting up to tomorrow morning, I don't really care if we miss a day at school at this point," said Noah.
"That's right... We could not do anything over Emerald's intentions… We have to quickly grow stronger if we don't… want to die!" said Arthur.
"Indeed… I will not let them kill any of us! I will always stand at your side, Noah… I will make sure to protect your back!" said Iris.
"Thanks, Iris, I will also make sure to look for your back, although I always do that… Anyways, let's make sure to kill as many monsters as possible. We must reach C-Rank tomorrow morning at all costs! The imminent threat of Emerald's family is lurking behind us… although just two days had been since then… We cannot rest until we reach B-Rank… Because most likely, they will come for our head… perhaps the entire Guild of Crystal Knights…" said Noah.
"We have to become stronger… to survive…" said Jon, gritting his fists.
"Indeed, Jon. This world is filled with dangers, we cannot give ourselves the privilege of resting, not even for a single day," said Noah, as he and his group traveled through the rooftops of the smaller and older buildings of the city, reaching their destination after an hour of traveling, D-Rank Dungeons were more dangerous than the previous ones, and due to being packed with stronger monsters, they required larger quantities of mana to emerge.
Usually, the government had taken measurements to destroy the dungeons above E-Rank that resided within the inside of the city and had only left any of such dungeons from D-Rank and above whose Boss Rooms were sealed outside the city, or within the outskirts of it, almost at the end.
Usually, these places where were poor people lived, those that could not afford to live comfortably in the city and lived in abandoned houses, old buildings, and ruins of the past… only those with strong enough Attribute Values or abilities could one day make it into the big city and explore Dungeons to become stronger and gain money to sustain themselves.
However, since some time ago that many of the children within these suburbs have been being recruited into military schools or sent to orphanages until they grew enough to be sent into military schools, such people were Iris and Jon, and well, Noah as well.
Within these places was where there were also the Gates that connected to D-Rank and above dungeons, which were often guarded inside large domes, that often looked way too out of place compared to their surroundings filled with ruins and poverty.
Noah and his group finally reached one of such places, today's destination, the D-Rank Dungeon that they would visit today.
Arthur had gathered enough money by selling several materials that they got from their Accursed Water Dungeon Exploration, and had already bought a reservation to one of such dungeons for an entire day.
Getting a reservation was not so hard, as he was from a prestigious family that administrated equipment to the government, and he could enjoy some small privileges… as long as he paid, of course.
And Arthur had also made sure to pick the most dangerous and evaded of all the D-Rank Dungeons because he knew that Noah was someone who enjoyed great challenges, and well, the more the monsters and challenges there were, the better rewards, resources, and Cores there would be.
"Here we are… the Ash Desert Dungeon, one of the most dangerous amongst the D-Rank Dungeons… Where every single monster is at least over five meters tall and… dive through the sand as if it were water…" said Arthur, just thinking about the creatures living in such a place made him shiver.
"Alongside that… it is a desert, right? It must be filled with strong sunlight…" said Timassa.
"An arid place… Good thing we packed up a lot of food and drinks…" said Iris.
"Hm… a fitting challenge… Let's go. We will not leave this place until we have managed to reach C-Rank!" said Noah with great boldness and ambitiousness, perhaps too many of the people around them he sounded like a completely insane man, but to his party… he sounded deadly serious, in fact, they knew that he would now work them almost to death!
"Oh boy… Here we go again…" sighed Arthur, as the party entered the dungeon after being checked by the guards, as an enormous desert of gray ash greeted them, a strong sun immediately embraced their bodies with its powerful light, as they could feel like it was slowly burning their skin!
"Agh! Now I remember why it was so evaded aside from the giant monsters… the sun is so strong that it even burns the skin a bit…! And because we are all pale white, it is literally burning us even worse…" said Arthur.
Noah, however, seemed completely fine with his skin slowly being fried, as it was quickly regenerating constantly, and so did the skin of everyone.
"This is an excellent place for all of you to train your Undying Body Skill, make sure to boost your regeneration capabilities with this training!" said Noah, as he began to fly a few centimeters above the ground, glancing at this surroundings…
This Dungeon, unlike many others, had no path or form, it was simply an endless amount of dunes.
To the right, to the left, in front, and to his back, Noah could only perceive an endless sea of gray ash sand…
However, a second after, the party sensed the dunes trembling, as something enormous emerged out of it!
BOOM!
