Chapter 74 - Planting A Seed For The Future...
-----
"Noah-sama, I don't want to question your judgment or anything but why did you give your blood to him? I could have healed him…" said Arthur.
"I did it to leave seed on him… I wanted to experiment," said Noah.
"Experiment? Seed?" asked Arthur.
"It seems that there are other ways to convert people into Vampiric beings without necessarily biting their necks. I wanted to see if it could be possible for that young man to acquire such power simply by giving him some of my blood," said Noah.
"Oh, that's interesting…" said Arthur.
"Amazing, if he becomes a Vampire, won't there be some issues with his life?" asked Iris.
"Yes, but if he does, a connection between our minds will be made. If he's willing to join us, he will come to me, and if not, he will remain as himself and live his own life… Heh, don't worry, I have cursed his own blood as well. Whenever he tries to speak of us to someone in detail, his blood will stop him from saying any words," said Noah.
"That's… very well thought…" said Arthur.
"Oh, so this way there is no chance for him to speak… Wait, you can do such a powerful curse, Noah-sama?" asked Timassa.
"It was possible only because he was so weak. But don't worry, even if he grows stronger somehow, the curse will grow as well," said Noah while smiling.
"Wait… now I get it!" said Arthur.
"Oh?" asked Noah.
"Noah-sama, you want that man to spread the Vampire bloodline, right? If he makes his own group of Vampires and then, as your loyal subordinate, comes back to you, won't he come back with a large group of new recruits?" asked Arthur.
"You're sharp, Arthur. Indeed. This is my intention… Well, mildly," said Noah.
"You're planning to do the same thing more, Noah-sama?" asked Iris.
"Perhaps, as we go around killing those that deserve it… Maybe," said Noah.
Noah knew how selfish his words were, 'killing those that deserve' amounted to anyone he thought deserved it as if he was exerting justice on his own hands, something incredibly selfish.
Despite this, he did not care.
He was selfish, and did whatever he pleased as long as it did not bring him any kind of loses, and doing this with the young man there was something he had planned carefully filing any loopholes possible.
And he planned to do this more…
This plan is what Noah called 'Indirect Recruitment', where he would convert others into Vampiric beings and let them infect more people, making them their new allies, which all of them would be given the Subordinate's Loyalty Skill, immediately becoming his subordinates.
This way, he could keep expanding his territory and authority around the city, getting new allies without even doing anything himself.
It was a small plan that would begin rather mild, but if everything went accordingly… Sector D might one day become his entire territory!
However, even then, he needed the strength of an S-Rank if he even wanted to make such things happen, so for now, he concentrated on the task given!
Entering the Dungeon!
The guards asked for Noah's party identification cards, which they quickly gave.
After a few inspections, the guards did not found anything weird, and let the party of young men walk into the Dungeon.
"Be careful, and don't try to kill a Mini-Boss if you're not strong enough," said one of the guards, a bit concerned about such young people being Hunters.
As Noah and his party entered the Gate, the guard spoke with his companion, another guard.
"Such young people entering Dungeons… is this really okay?" wondered the guard.
"Well, that's the world we live in now, man. We went through hell to finally get in here, the outside world is harsh. The government has to force kids to become Hunters at a young age so they can grow strong enough to defend our country," said the other guard.
"Well... Yeah, I guess that's how life is now… That's the reality we are living in now…" sighed the guard.
"Hey, cheer up man, I will invite you to a beer tonight, alright?" asked the guard.
"Oh? Sure thing," sighed the guard.
The world after the Apocalypse was now different than before, these guards who were born before the Apocalypse happened twenty years ago had gone through hell to survive, reaching this place, and finally getting to live more peacefully, even though they had begun to question the government, they simply wanted to live their lives in peace, and did not want to get into problems or issues that might endanger such lives.
It was rather obvious, everyone had their own problems and lives, not everyone had enough time to go toying with other people's lives nor to spy on them because they seemed weird or suspicious, people were way too concerned about their own lives to even fathom to think that doing such things would bring them any benefit.
As an E-Rank Dungeon, the Accursed Water Temple was a Dungeon that was not often explored as much, and today was a lucky day for Noah and his party, as no one was inside the dungeon to bother them, meaning that they could go all out and explore and kill as many monsters as they wanted.
There was also a way to reserve a dungeon by buying a special license and leaving a sign in front of a dungeon, people would avoid dungeons that were reserved and would not get in until the people using them were to walk out.
Noah and his party had bought such items and had left the Accursed Water Temple for them completely, thanks to the money they earned by selling many resources harvested in the Lizardman Dungeon.
As they entered the Dungeon, they were immediately greeted by the temple's beautiful scenario, an enormous place, seemingly constructed by some kind of ancient civilization, there were several scripts all around the walls and ceilings of the temple, which was made of gray, azure, and blue bricks.
The temple was composed of several large 'rooms' or halls like this one, each hall had a large pool of water where monsters roamed and came from, within the deep of the water, there were often treasure chests guarded by larger-than-usual monsters, and the Mini-Bosses might randomly appear within these pools as well, often emerging after the other monsters were defeated.
There were also waterfalls coming from the walls of the temple, which constantly poured water into the intricate river system within the temple itself.
Compared to anything they had explored before, this Dungeon was indeed something beautiful, making even Noah admire it, to the point of making him wonder what kind of wonders he will meet through his life.
However, the dungeon's monsters were not going to let the party admire the beauty of their home.
Not even a minute after their arrival, large, red-colored crabs began to crawl out of the large pool in front of them, alongside long green-colored eels, and fishes with legs and arms, carrying long tridents and shields made of bones!
"Oh? We have a welcoming party here!" said Noah.
"I guess we are getting to work already!" said Arthur, readying his Skills.
"Let me shoot them from afar!" said Timassa, charging her black thunder within her bow and pointing at the monsters.
"Adamantine, let's go in a rampage!" said Iris, as she coated herself in her phantom and her long black nails emerged from her hands, leaking deadly, purple-colored poisonous liquid.
"Rampage…!" said Adamantine, coating herself on her shadows and resembling a furious dark demon, her claws grew long and monstrous, as her crimson eyes gleamed eerily.
"I will sap their life… let me know whenever you need more Mana," said Jon, as he activated his Evil Eyes and other Skills immediately!
Big Sis, Sakura, and Sugar quickly jumped out of Noah's Dimensional Storage Room, as they pointed their long-ranged weapons at the monster army approaching them!
"Let's make sure to use this power!" said Sakura, beginning to concentrate her icing winds around her.
"How should I call this move…? Blight Blades?" wondered Sugar, as five blades made of black light began to rotate around her!
"Shadow Sneak!" said Big Sis, as she unleashed a large claw made of shadows over the approaching, three-meter-tall giant red crab, grasping it with her shadows and then blowing away its hard exoskeleton with her Light Bullets!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The rest of the party immediately unleashed their attacks, and Noah leaped furiously into the frontlines, using his claws and blood weapons to unfold catastrophe over these aquatic monsters, breaking them into pieces one by one!
Not long after, a large creature suddenly opened its crimson eyes beneath the water, emerging from it with an explosion!
Boom!
