Chapter 122 - Picking New Skills!

B-Rank.
The Rank that any Hunter wished to reach as fast as possible.
It was at this Rank when things became different for them.
B-Rank Hunters were considered special people, celebrities, even.
They were treated excellently by the society of any Sector, and they were able to be above the law, and even the government often decided to not mess with them and even help them, incentivizing their growth so such Hunters would stick with them and also, at the same time, protect the Sector through their dependence to the government thanks to their treatments.
Noah decided to reach B-Rank as fast as possible so he and his party could get out of the school without being persecuted by the government anymore.
They would easily be able to prove their strength by going into a Guild Registration center, register as B-Rank Hunters by upgrading their license cards, and then, by paying a large fee, register a guild for themselves.
With a guild, they would have the power to become a force by themselves within the society of Sector D, and the government would not be able to easily touch them anymore!
Even other guilds such as the Crystal Family guild would not be able to do much, and even if they tried to sneak attack them, they were B-Rank now and had great chances of crushing them back.
Of course, many guilds were greater and bigger… but compared to the many that were lesser than them, they were at a greater advantage as long as they did not provoke such monsters…
However, it was not as if Noah and the rest were done with school, there was a little thing Noah wanted to do before leaving it, involving Fernand Firebrand…
Now that Noah had decided to not kill the bastard due to being the spoiled little brother of an S-Rank Hunter that he did not want to enrage, Noah decided to simply brainwash the brat and use him to extort his big brother to give him materials, which would go directly to Noah and his guild instead!
Fernand was the only kid that was a little brother of an S-Rank Hunter in the whole school, so there was not any other important target aside from him…
However, how he would do it, what type of brainwash it would be, and what else could it be done to him were topics that should be discussed a bit later, as Noah was now simply obsessed with the thought of absorbing these C-Rank Ability Cores.
He had grabbed all the ones he had personally harvested, which included the ones dropped from Pride, the Blazing Wyrm Emperor!
This pile was big!
"Over a dozen C-Rank Cores… If I recall correctly, each one should give me around 40-50 Skill Points, however, as I Leveled up my Blood Core Rank, I might get even more Skill Points due to the efficiency of energy assimilation…" thought Noah, already imagining the new Skills he could unlock with all of that!
Noah calculated that he had 26 C-Rank Cores that he harvested, while he left the rest of the Cores to his subordinates.
Flash!
Absorbing them straight away, Noah converted all the Ability Cores that could have otherwise given him crappy random abilities into Skill Points, which he could use to get the Abilities that benefitted and suited him the most, which were even specifically tailored for him by the System and the Blood Core! Noah had the power that many would envy and die for!
However, he realized how easy it would be to give such power to anyone else, such as his subordinates who were all vampiric beings of immense strength, who had Blood Cores and even lesser versions of Skill Trees, and could even unlock more skills by absorbing Ability Cores and turning them into Skill Points!
Ding!
[You exchanged several C-Rank Ability Cores for 2.395 Skill Points!]
Over two thousand Skill Points!
Amazing!
With this, Noah could be able to easily unlock many Skills all at once and increase his strength to greater levels never seen before in new B-Rank Hunters!
And by adding the 45 Skill Points he had left, Noah ended with a whooping 2.440 Skill Points!
This was more than enough for Noah to achieve a greater level of strength right away!
And without even thinking it twice, Noah decided to unlock more Skills, which always came with bonus skill proficiency for all of his Skills and even a little boost on his Attribute Values, as it always did.
"I should check the Skill Tree once more," thought Noah, opening the Skill Tree of the Level III branch.
…
[Level: III]
[Noble-Born Vampire Viscount (400/400)]: Spend Skill Points into this branch to unlock more of the innate strength of the Blood Progenitor, such as bonus Attribute Values, Skills, and more.
Additional Abilities can be unlocked after the Branch is Maxed.
Additional Abilities (I): [Elemental Blood Gem Creation (0/500)], [Blood Beast Transformation (0/550)], [Blood for Blood (0/600)]
Additional Abilities (II): [Moon Protection (0/700)], [Blood Mist (0/750)], [Vitality Veil (0/800)]
Additional Abilities (III): [Abyssal Connection (0/900)], [Kin Summon (0/950)], [Blood Scion (0/1000)]
…
Noah had already maxed the first part of it, which cost a large number of Skill Points being at 400!
However, he had acquired a Skill out of it on Blood Prison, which came very handy in his dungeon exploration. And even more, Noah had also acquired bonus Attribute Values and Skill Proficiency!
With the current Skill Points he had, it should be possible for him to unlock the entire first level of Additional Abilities and… perhaps one Skill from the second level right away!
"With this, I can unlock, perhaps, up to four Skills… And with the Bonus Skill Proficiency, I will get, I wonder if the Skills nearing maximum.
Ding!
[You exchanged 500 Skill Points!]
[You unlocked the [Elemental Blood Gem Creation: 1 (B)] Skill!]
Ding!
[You exchanged 550 Skill Points!]
[You unlocked the [Blood Beast Transformation: 1 (B)] Skill!]
Ding!
[You exchanged 600 Skill Points!]
[You unlocked the [Blood for Blood: 1 (B)] Skill!]
Ding!
[You exchanged 700 Skill Points!]
[You unlocked the [Moon Protection: 1 (B)] Skill!]
Four new Skills!
With these four new Skills, Noah felt his power surging through the skies, soaring higher and higher, and never stopping!
He was becoming unstoppable little by little, a power to be reckoned with!
Each new Skill brought something new to the table as well, having their own unique abilities and effects, which Noah took the chance to inspect to quickly get used to their powers!
The first one in the list, the Elemental Blood Gem Creation Skill seemed to be a fusion of Emerald's Skill with Noah's Blood Weapon Creation Skill, now he was able to transform his own blood or the blood he manipulated into hardened crystals enhanced with elements!
These gems could not only be used as projectile weapons and a great upgrade to the Blood Weapon Creation Skill which could be fused with it for greater effects but these gems could also be used as materials to be sold and resources to be used in the robots or Soul Weapons of everyone!
It was an amazing Skill overall, with both types of utility, in battle and as materials and resources.
In battle, he could combine them with either Blood Weapon Creation to generate amazing and giant floating weapons of crystalized gem blood coated in elements, combine it with Blood Armor to create elemental armors (although that would take some time to properly create), or combine it with Crimson Aegis to generate stronger and even more amazing barriers than ever before!
The possibilities were broader than Noah had imagined at first when he saw the name of the Skill for the first time!
The next Skill was just as amazing, as it could let Noah enhance himself even more by coating himself in blood and transforming into a Blood Beast, momentarily enhancing all of his capabilities in exchange for his judgment to an extent!
But similarly to things such as Blood Frenzy, Noah was already insane, so such aftereffects were nothing to him!
Noah could already picture himself abusing this Skill in combination with many more, going into a full-on berserk mode similarly to Iris or Adamantine, if not deadlier and more monstrous…
However, using so many Skills like these together would put a terrible strain on Noah's body as his vitality would be drained incredibly quickly, if he did not want his blood to dry out too fast, he would not be able to use all of this combination right away, and would still try to leave it for when the enemy could be closer to death or on his last moments when there was no other option, to not waste around precious energy… For this reason, Noah decided to leave it as a last resort powerup.
