Chapter 107 - Interrogation...
-----
Seeing how everyone evolved into strong Level III Dhampirs and Ghouls, Noah nodded, confirming all of his subordinate's Attribute Panels.
They were all even stronger now and possessed new Abilities that could make them even more useful in battle.
Although Noah was already very strong by himself, everyone else was specializing even further into their desired elements, choosing to not risk getting random Skills through Ability Cores and converting them into Skill Points for their Skill Trees.
Nonetheless, Noah had a greater Skill Tree and was fairly stronger than all of his subordinates, perhaps if they all combined their power, they could match his base strength, but even then, if he were to go all out, he would completely dominate everyone.
Perhaps later on he could practice battle with his own subordinates and learn more battle techniques from each other, getting used to Skills should not be done in dungeons, but it was not as if they had all the time of the world to leisurely spend a week practicing their new powers, and they could only forcefully learn how to use them through battling for their life inside Dungeons, maximizing their efficiency as they both practiced and gathered Cores to grow stronger.
Noah began to consider that reaching B-Rank might not be possible tonight, as they had a limited amount of time in the night to explore the Dungeon, and the needed Cores had increased by a ton now that they were C-Rank, reaching B-Rank would not be as easy.
Perhaps another night or more, however, it all depended on the Dungeon, its infrastructure, and the monster inside.
If only small amounts of big monsters roamed, they would not get as many Cores.
If large amounts of many monsters roamed, there would be the possibility of more Cores.
But the ideal Dungeon was like the one they visited previously, one where giant monsters were incredibly abundant, and emerged in large quantities without stopping!
Only these types of Dungeons were the ones Noah was aiming for now!
Nothing less would satiate his thirst for power.
Noah was racing against time, he was not sure when would the Crystal Family would decide to finally attack him, and he still was not so confident about battling and winning against a B-Rank Hunter.
Although he desired to take a break and develop himself and his own relationship with his subordinates alongside Iris, Noah's main priority was to get everyone to Rank B, including himself.
As everyone was chatting around waiting for Clementina, Noah felt a strange call from her.
"Hm?"
Noah then, decided to walk outside of his room, telling his subordinates to stay in his room as he walked through the corridors of the school, it was already night, so he easily sneaked through the shadows and then reached the room where Clementina was the infirmary.
There, the teacher was interrogating Clementina…
"Clementina Silvercrown… Tell me the truth, please, I am your ally in here… Did Noah exhibit some kind of strange ability? Did he killed your party?" asked the teacher.
Clementina furrowed her eyebrows as she realized that something fishy was going on…
It seemed as if the higher-ups of the military school had asked the teacher to interrogate Clementina about anything odd she saw Noah and his party doing while in the Dungeon.
It was already getting very weird how the weakest students were doing so well out of nowhere, and the director of the military school alongside the teacher had already figured out that Noah (and possibly all of his party members) were saving and hiding abilities they did not want to show in public…
However, they could not even understand why they would want to hide their abilities.
After all, wouldn't it be better to show them off so they could be respected and recognized as strong people?
In the mind of the director and the teacher, there was not any reason to hide such powerful abilities…
Unless Noah knew that by doing so, he would awaken the interest of the higher-ups, who would want him to become a brainwashed soldier…
But to them, it was very unlikely that an ignorant orphan like Noah could even know the truth about the military school, and hence, began to think that there could be another reason behind this… a shady reason.
Perhaps Noah was a spy from another Sector?
Or perhaps he planned to abuse his position as a weak student to slaughter people unsuspecting of his true powers?
Although they did not care if that was his intention with his own students… if he had such intentions with the teachers or the staff of the military school… then Noah and his entire party were an enemy they needed to track down, decipher their powers and weakness, and quickly suppressed.
However, suspecting that Noah's party was the ones that killed and somehow made Emerald's entire party disappear in that expedition to the wastelands, the director saw great potential on him and his party.
Due to this fondness, he wanted to approach Noah on friendly terms but wanted to slowly gather info about him first.
The teacher, thinking that Clementina had experienced Noah's powers who wiped out her party, decided to ask her if he had done anything to her party… or her.
"…No, Noah-sama- I mean, Noah would never do such a thing…" said Clementina.
"Hm? You… Clementina, you talk as if you knew him… Are you and Noah acquaintances, by any chance?" asked the teacher.
"Eh? Ah… (I screwed up! Due to being a Dhampir, my emotional connection with Noah is as a superior now! I cannot talk to him casually… Or at least not before getting used to him as the other members of his creed…)" muttered Clementina, as she began to think that she might have screwed up things a bit by giving a hint that she somehow knew about Noah's behavior.
"Clementina, please, tell me, we are here for you," said the teacher, trying to act as a good and fatherly figure for Clementina, although she clearly saw through the cunning man's act.
However, before she could improvise something, Noah emerged outside of the room and knocked on the door.
Knock, knock.
"Hm? Who is it? I am busy here…" said the teacher.
"It's me, teacher, Noah… I-I wanted to talk a bit with you..." said Noah, using a voice that Clementina almost didn't recognize, acting like the weak pathetic human he once was.
"Noah?" muttered the teacher, glaring back at Clementina.
"(Could it be that he had come to confess me about his powers now that he has been put into a corner due to Clementina?)" wondered the teacher, as a slight smirk emerged on his lips.
"Sure thing, let me go open the door," said the teacher.
The teacher was confident that Noah would not try anything funny on him, as there were cameras inside non-private rooms and outside of the rooms, within the halls as well.
If they saw Noah attacking the teacher, he would be recorded, and then the authorities would use the videos of him committing the crime to apprehend Noah, forcing him to either cooperate with the government willingly or by force…
There was no way out.
Noah was walking in the palms of their hands without him even realizing it!
…Or did he?
As the teacher walked towards the door, Noah spoke with his Blood Servants, in specific, with Brain.
"(Brain, whenever I give you the signal, emerge within my neck, right below my hoodie, and activate your Ability on the teacher)" said Noah to Brain, as Brain nodded in affirmation, as he was resting within a crimson world which was the representation of the space inside of his Blood Storage space.
The teacher finally reached the door, opening it slowly, as he glanced at Noah who was smiling rather bitterly, as if very nervous, convincing the teacher that even if he hid an ability, that he was still the same cowardly Noah he always knew about.
"Ah, Noah. What did you need to talk about? There's Clementina here… Did you want to address something… regarding her?" asked the teacher, his sharp gaze trying to intimidate Noah, which Noah realized was an actual Skill he had…
But the Skill was merely E-Rank.
And Noah was a C-Rank Hunter.
And the teacher's strength was… pathetically E-Rank as well.
"I wanted something to ask something to you… and Clementina as well… Can she come near? Please, Clementina… (Walk to his left, so I am blocked from the camera with your body)" said Noah with a gentle smile, as Clementina heard his telepathic message!
