Chapter 265 - 265 Beginning.
265 Beginning.
It has been five months since Valerian left the capital city. Life of the people did not seem to be affected at all. However, as time passed, the matter of the Triumph meet grabbed their attention. This was a competition between the champions of the five nations. The final result of the meeting will change the standings of the nations based on how the winners performed.
Last time, Libra won glory and secured the position of the strongest nation in the entire continent. This time, the masses did not know who would represent the nation. The curiosity gave birth to chatter among themselves, while a lot of people thought that Vertex would be the champion, some pegged Valerian for the job.
The travelers have spread the news that the eldest son of the royal family, Ignis Verus, was going to be the champion of the allied nation, and also the homeland of his wife, Sapientia. As the country was boiling with gossip and speculative discussions, Fragrantia looked at a few documents. These past few days, she has been very busy.
Valerian had made himself an extremely sensitive place in her heart. She would eventually end up thinking about him and then start worrying. Azula sat in front of her with a helpless expression and said, “You know what will he say if he saw you like this?”
Fragrantia did not raise her head from the documents and asked, “Do you know when he is coming back? Ignis came out of the magic realm five days ago.”
Azula shrugged her shoulders and said, “I have no idea, however, you do not have to worry, he will not suffer in there, or Fortuna might go on a rampage.”
Fragrantia raised her head to cast a gaze at the White Tiger sprawled under the sun through the window. The queen of dragons was away, ever since Valerian left she had left the place too, she only came back here yesterday, so Fragrantia thought that the child will also return soon. She asked Fortuna about the matter and the beast only told her to be calm and patient.
Fragrantia sighed and turned her gaze back to the paper spread on her table. Azula sighed and said, “Mother, Rectus has sent word from the Valkyrian lines. There is movement.”
The empress stopped her hands and gazed at the girl in front of her and asked, “Is that why you came here?”
.....
Azula nodded and Fragrantia said, “The movement has yet to change into an invasion on either side. They will no attack before the Triumph Meet is settled.”
The princess rubbed her forehead and said, “Mother, are you sure it is wise to allow them such freedom?”
She was worried that if the Valkyrian forces moved before the meet was settled, it will become troublesome. Just as the two ladies were about to go further into their discussion. Fortuna raised her head and looked in their direction. The presence of the Dargon Queen was so strong that the two ladies could not help but constantly pay attention to her.
Fortuna opened her mouth slightly and the two ladies heard a few words in their heads. They both nodded, it was not like they had any other option. The message passed down by Fortuna was clear and concise.
...
In the world of Clar-awks, Valerian was standing in front of the populace of the village. In front of him stood the Maiden, Hansa. She said, “Master Valerian, your arrival was abrupt, but it was not unpleasant. In the past few months that you have spent here, you have left a significant mark on our lives.
Whether it is your contribution to the skill of forging, or the changes that you bought in the military system or various other things that you taught us. For all the things that you have done for us, especially the peace that you won for us with the Lunakes. You have our eternal Gratitude.”
That said, Hansa bowed her head and the people behind her also followed her gesture. Valerian was looking at them with surprise and was overwhelmed with their actions. He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. He said, “Please raise your head. You all have done a lot more than what I could ever repay.”
Valerian bowed his head and said, “You all have taught me a lot of things, and I apologize that I am not very articulate. However, you have my gratitude. I will always carry the things I learned here in my heart. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn from you.”
Hansa shook her head and said, “I will open the portal and you will be sent directly to the place where the meet will be held.”
Valerian nodded and said, “Thank you.”
...
On a vacant summit of the Titan mountain in the Centaur nation, there were five camps set-up. The emperors and the important people of the administration were present in the place. Only the Lumen nation had come along with the entire family. This behavior surprised everyone, however, the present Lumen was not prone to rebellion and every citizen thought of it as their responsibility to keep things peaceful and progressive.
This was the significant change the people have faced in the past few months when Jamaal Centurion was making moves against them, to counter them, Valerian and Azula had created changed the wind completely and the empire was more united then it could ever be.
The members of the five royal families were sitting in a wide circle around the ring in the middle. Fragrantia cast a look at the empty chair beside her and sighed. She was getting anxious with every passing moment, Valerian was still not here.
Zeenat stood from her chair and came to the center of the ring as she said, “Today the five nations are gathered here at the Titan peak for the Triumph meet. The rules of this tradition are clear to everyone. So...”
Before she could proceed, a snort broke out fast and then an unruly voice sounded, “Enough with this blabber, can we just get on with it? I want to get things done and unite the western continent. You people are wasting a lot of my time.”
The people all looked at the camp of Valkyria nation. All of the people in the camp were men, and they were all dressed in beast pelts. The person who spoke was sitting on the chair designated for the emperor while his feet rested on the chair for the champion.
Although this behavior was disrespectful, but the people were used to it. However, this guy did not intend to stop just yet. He ran his lazy gaze around at all the camps and looking at Azula and Fragrantia, he said, “I wonder if the Lumen have decided to use these weak women to distract us. Where is your champion? Do not tell me that you could not find one, Old Libra.”
Azula clenched her fists tightly and her gaze turned cold, she wanted to challenge this guy when a calm voice sounded, “It seems someone forgot to tame their dog and let him out in the world to show their shallow standards.”
The people were surprised, but Fragrantia, Azula, Morgana and those who knew better were extremely relaxed. The valkyrians located the source of the voice and they found a man walking towards them. The person was dressed in a black leather armor. A sword was tied to his waist and a spear tied to his back.
The people were surprised and they could not believe that the person in front of them was Valerian, who has just climbed the mountain after being transported here.
Fragrantia stood up from her chair and walked toward the young man. The child who was one head shorter than her was now two heads taller. His chest was broader and his arms looked like they were made of metal. Valerian was not two meters tall and his figure was tempered to the point where he could be called the peak of men.
The lady raised her hand and touched his cheek as she asked, “Someone grew out to be handsome.”
Valerian smiled faintly and said, “I have taken my looks from my mothers. You have worked hard.”
Fragrantia smiled and wanted to embrace the young man, when Valerian looked at the side and found a Valkyrian guard rushing toward him, yelling, “You overestimate yourself. How dare you insult our king?”
Valerian shook his head and the next moment, a barrage of spells hit the man. In just a second, Valerian had thrown multiple spells at the person and before the guy could even figure out, his body had turned into big chunks.
The young man led Fragrantia to her chair without caring for the shocked expressions the people had. The crowd could not believe what they just saw. This was simply something unheard of, Valerian had just cast seven spells and all of them of different attributes.
