Chapter 127

Chapter 127 - A Fullfrontal Attack

Tang Pianpian offered a smile but gave no reply.

“What are you implying?” Bai Hehua pressed on.

“There's no hidden meaning. You're correct,” Tang Pianpian responded with composure.

“Then what was your point earlier?” Bai Hehua demanded, her tone confrontational.

“I was merely stating a fact.”

“I suspect you're up to something.”

“Bai Hehua,” Zhang Lan interjected, hastily pulling her back. She was puzzled by Bai Hehua's anger.

”Sorry about that.”

“It's okay.”

“Tang Pianpian, consider this a warning. You're not to pursue Ye Hao.”

“That's none of your concern,” Tang Pianpian retorted, visibly irritated by Bai Hehua's attitude.

“Feeling guilty, are we?” Bai Hehua accused, pointing at Tang Pianpian.

“Pointing fingers is rude. Didn't your parents teach you any manners?” Tang Pianpian replied icily.

Frustrated, Bai Hehua stamped her foot and insisted, “Regardless, you are not to chase after Ye Hao.”

“I have two things to tell you,” Tang Pianpian said, locking eyes with Bai Hehua. “Firstly, Ye Hao and I have been living together for quite some time. Secondly, I've met his parents.” She gestured to the gold bracelet on her wrist, adding, “This was a gift from his mother.”

“Anything else you'd like to say?”

Bai Hehua's face went ashen.

“I don't believe you,” she blurted out after a pause.

“Believe it or not, that's your choice,” Tang Pianpian said, unwilling to elaborate further.

Zhang Lan felt a profound sense of disappointment, Tang Pianpian's revelation replaying in her mind.

“They're living together?” she wondered silently. The possibility wasn't far-fetched.

Ye Hao had mentioned moving to Blossomfall Chateau but never disclosed his reasons for renting a place. It now appeared he had moved in with Tang Pianpian.

Bai Hehua's spirits were equally low. Her quarrel with Tang Pianpian stemmed from a desire to keep Ye Hao from falling for her. Little did she know, Tang Pianpian and Ye Hao had already been cohabiting for some time.

She was overwhelmed with disappointment and discomfort.

Bai Hehua and Zhang Lan remained frozen in place.

Noticing their expressions, Tang Pianpian chose to remain silent.

Tang Pianpian naturally yearned for all of Ye Hao's affection.

The thought of sharing Ye Hao's love with anyone else had never crossed Tang Pianpian's mind.

After about a few minutes, the middle-aged lawyer emerged.

Tang Pianpian quickly approached him and inquired, “Has Ye Hao said anything?”

“He left me with just one phrase.”

“What phrase?”

“After darkness, the flowers bloom anew.”

Upon hearing this, Tang Pianpian breathed a sigh of relief.

It was a clear indication from Ye Hao that he was alright.

“There's no need to worry about Ye Hao. His arrest was voluntary. He can leave the police station whenever he chooses.” Tang Pianpian paused briefly before deciding to share this with Zhang Lan and Bai Hehua.

“What do you mean by that?” Zhang Lan asked, taken aback.

“There are some details I can't disclose. Ye Hao's background is complex.” After saying this, Tang Pianpian departed with the middle-aged lawyer.

“What did she mean by that?” Bai Hehua questioned.

“I'm not sure,” Zhang Lan admitted, perplexed. “But since Tang Pianpian assured us that Ye Hao is fine, I suppose we don't need to be concerned.”

Subsequently, Zhang Lan and Bai Hehua made their way back to school.

Lin Rou'er learned of the situation the following day, having just concluded a business trip in Tethain.

”Ye Hao must have been set up,” May stated gravely.

“Didn't you dispatch a lawyer to the police station?” Lin Rou'er inquired.

“Ye Hao has his own dedicated lawyer. Our company's lawyers aren't authorized to see him.”

A glint of ice flashed in Lin Rou'er's exquisite eyes.

“Who's preventing our lawyer from seeing him?”

Typically, the Vluwno Group's lawyers are afforded a certain level of respect.

Yet, the station's police had denied them an audience with Ye Hao. Clearly, there was an underlying issue.

“It's the Leng and Soong families.”

Lin Rou'er wasn't surprised that these families sought vengeance against Ye Hao, especially since Soong Yu's prospects had been dashed by him.

”Even though Ye Hao is part of the Security Bureau, it's of no consequence,” May said somberly. “The Leng and Soong families are determined to obliterate Ye Hao's future, no matter the cost.”

Under normal circumstances, no one would intentionally provoke members of the Security Bureau. However, Ye Hao's entanglement in a major scandal presented the Leng and Soong families with an opportunity they couldn't pass up to target him. His identity had been revealed among the elite of Glento City as a member of the Security Bureau. What they were unaware of was that Ye Hao's previous involvement was merely in cooperation with a Security Bureau operation. In reality, Ye Hao belonged to the enigmatic Martial Arts Bureau.

”Let's mobilize all the resources at the Lin family's disposal to rescue Ye Hao,” Lin Rou'er proposed after some thought.

“Does this mean we'll be going head-to-head with the Leng and Soong families?”

“Haven't we already faced these two powerful families in the past?”

“My concern is whether the other families will simply stand by and watch. What if the Zhou and Zheng families decide to get involved?”

“Then we'll just have to bring the final showdown forward,” Lin Rou'er declared, her words sending shockwaves through the room.

“The longer we wait, the worse it gets for our Lin family. We need to strike while their alliance is still shaky.”

The Lin family's preemptive strike took the other two major families by surprise. No one could have predicted Lin Rou'er's sudden display of force. But they had no choice but to rise to the challenge. As time went on, more families became entangled in the conflict, eventually drawing in the Zheng family.

Unexpectedly, the Zhou family, one of the three top-tier families in Glento City, chose to observe from the sidelines. Even without the Zhou family's involvement, the Lin family found themselves stretched thin in the confrontation.

But just two days later, the Soong family's goods ran into issues at customs, leading to the detention of their shipment and causing a disruption in their financial flow. The financial chain is crucial to a family's survival. As various families rallied to support the Soong family, a new wave of problems emerged for them, prompting even greater investment from the other families.

When the conflict reached a peak, the Lin family abruptly ceased their offensive, catching many families off guard.

At this juncture, the Soong family's top brass had a shocking revelation: their key industries had been infiltrated and commandeered by rival clans.

Essentially, the Soong family was a mere shell of its former self.

“I get it now.”

“Lin Rou'er's cunning runs deep.”

“The Soong family is doomed.”

“I'm lost. The Lin family stands to lose more than the Soong family, right?”

“What you perceive as losses are merely superficial. Lin Rou'er has laid a snare well in advance.”

“What do you mean?”

“The Soong family's downfall isn't due to the Lin family's onslaught, but rather the collective efforts of various families to swallow up the Soong's critical industries.”

“These families are aware that their actions lack integrity, yet the prospect of gain was enough to sway their hearts.”

“The consequence is that during the Lin family's next offensive, it's unlikely that the other families will present a united front as they did this time. Therefore, Lin Rou'er has effectively diminished the collective power of this family alliance.”
