Chapter 112
Chapter 112 - Ninegenerations Cursed Maiden
“Miss Zhou, thank you for your hospitality.”
All eyes in the room turned to Zhou Wanqing once again.
Zhou Wanqing was taken aback.
She hadn't anticipated Ye Hao acknowledging her before his departure.
However, any association with Ye Hao would complicate matters significantly.
It was common knowledge that the Zhou family had business ties with both the Soong and Leng families.
Seeing Zhou Wanqing's rigid expression, Ye Hao chuckled and turned to leave.
“Jerk,” Zhou Wanqing muttered under her breath, stamping her foot in frustration.
Leng Xue watched Ye Hao's retreating figure, her mind racing with thoughts.
Ye Hao was actually with the National Security Bureau.
The Security Bureau, akin to Moplauso's Intelligence Agency, was seldom in the spotlight.
Yet, its absence did not diminish its formidable presence. In fact, any family under investigation by the National Security Bureau had good reason to be concerned.
After leaving the hotel, Ye Hao received a call from Shao Hua.
“Arthurs from Refluyburg is currently dining in room 404 at Fiery Clove.”
“I'm on my way.”
Shao Hua's list comprised dangerous individuals who had infiltrated Glento.
With Arthurs's cultivation only at the Body Refining Realm's first level, Ye Hao dispatched him with ease.
The clock struck ten as he dealt with Arthurs.
But then, Ye Hao received another target from Shao Hua.
“Do you expect me to eliminate all the dangerous individuals on the list tonight?” Ye Hao asked, clearly irritated.
“The number of threats sneaking into our country has increased. The higher-ups want us to neutralize as many as possible.”
“Fine,” Ye Hao conceded, setting out for his next target.
And so, it wasn't until three in the morning that Ye Hao made it back to Blossomfall Chateau.
As he opened the gate, Tang Pianpian greeted him.
“Haven't you gone to bed yet?”
“I've been practicing my cultivation.”
“That's not true.”
“It is.”
“Okay then,” Ye Hao let the matter go.
“Are you hungry?”
“Actually, yes, I am.”
“Give me a moment. I'll heat up some food for you,” Tang Pianpian offered, heading to the kitchen.
Enjoying his piping hot meal, Ye Hao suddenly realized he had made an incredibly smart decision.
“What are you doing tonight?”
Ye Hao briefly shared the evening's events with her.
“Are you tired?” Tang Pianpian couldn't help but ask when she learned that Ye Hao had successively eliminated three dangerous individuals.
“I'm not tired,” Ye Hao replied softly. “Shao Hua is still unaware of my true capabilities, so the tasks she assigns me are quite straightforward.”
“Then you must keep your abilities well concealed,” Tang Pianpian urged.
“I have no intention of revealing all my strengths at once,” Ye Hao said with a smile.
In anatomy class, Ye Hao and his classmates were led by their teacher to a room designated for storing cadavers.
As the teacher unveiled the corpses, hidden beneath white cloths, the students began to murmur among themselves.
Before them lay an exceptionally beautiful girl.
They thought, “She looks no older than eighteen. So young. What could have caused her death?”
Ye Hao gazed at the girl for a moment before asking, “Guo Yi, what was the cause of this girl's death?”
“I don't know,” Guo Yi admitted, surprising the students.
“Hasn't the medical examiner assessed her?” Bai Hehua inquired in a low voice.
“The medical examiner couldn't determine her cause of death,” Guo Yi shook his head, adding, “Actually, even our school's professors couldn't ascertain why she died.”
“It's inconceivable that with today's medical advancements, they can't figure out her cause of death,” Zhang Lan remarked in disbelief.
“There are still many frontiers we haven't mastered, so it's understandable that her cause of death remains a mystery,” Guo Yi explained gravely. “Dissecting a body is a sacred act. Let us all observe a three-minute moment of silence in her honor.”
The students' faces grew somber.
As Zhang Lan bowed her head, she was startled to see the girl's eyes snap open, staring fixedly at her.
A wave of anxiety washed over Zhang Lan.
“What's happening?”
“Why has this girl opened her eyes?”
“Has she undergone some kind of mutation?”
The onlookers' faces turned pale at the sight.
Guo Yi had never anticipated such an occurrence.
As he was about to close the woman's eyes, a chilling hand clutched his arm. A raspy voice then echoed through the room, “Return my heart.”
Guo Yi shook uncontrollably.
It was unmistakably a case of the dead coming back to life!
Guo Yi tried to break free, but the grip on his arm was unnaturally strong.
“The dead have risen.”
“Run for it!”
The classmates, witnessing the scene, screamed and dashed for the door.
Zhang Lan attempted to stay, but Bai Hehua pulled her to escape.
Before long, only Ye Hao and the petrified Guo Yi remained.
“Aren't you scared?” the woman asked as she slowly sat up, her gaze fixed emotionlessly on Ye Hao.
Guo Yi collapsed in fear.
“Why should I fear you?” Ye Hao replied calmly. “What keeps you wandering this realm?”
“The underworld won't take me.”
“And why is that?”
“I was struck by a disaster,” she said with fury. “The bitterness within me is too intense for the ferry to bear.”
“That's your destiny.”
“Fate isn't something I believe in,” she retorted, locking eyes with Ye Hao. “I've chosen a woman. I intend to consume her soul and take over her body.”
“That will only lead to a more tragic end for you.”
“Will you try to stop me?”
“She's my friend, the woman you've chosen, so yes, I will stop you.”
“You're not capable.” Her eyes turned a fierce red as she spoke.
Ye Hao remained unfazed.
“Do you really think your tricks will work on me?” As he spoke, a bolt of Heavenly Thunder materialized in his palm.
Heavenly Thunder could vanquish all specters and spirits.
The woman recoiled at the sight of the Heavenly Thunder in Ye Hao's hand, but quickly sneered, “If you were at the Blood Refining Stage, I might be wary. But you're merely at the third layer of the Body Refining Stage. How potent can your Heavenly Thunder be?”
With that, she lunged at Ye Hao.
As she did, a horde of ghostly shadows burst forth from within her, howling and gnashing at Ye Hao.
Ye Hao, witnessing the onslaught, transformed the Heavenly Thunder in his grasp into a net of lightning.
However, in the next instant, Ye Hao felt an immense force strike him.
As Ye Hao staggered backward, he was astonished to see that the lightning net before him was torn to shreds, yet the nine ghostly figures continued to relentlessly assault it.
With this in mind, Ye Hao bit the tip of his tongue and sprayed the blood toward the advancing specters.
All ghosts and demons feared the blood from the tip of a tongue.
What's more, the blood coursing through Ye Hao's veins possessed the divine quality of Divine Blood.
