Chapter 545 THIS IS SO HARD
Chapter 545 THIS IS SO HARD
"Both of them are on the same level. You can practice taking them first." Aaron smiled softly at Skylar, as if both of them were best friends that didn't see each other for a long time. The devil's smile looked so innocent, almost like he was an angel and this made Skylar want to laugh at the irony.
"What do you mean by that?" Skylar narrowed her eyes when she saw the little girl on the chair walking toward Norbeat's body. She frowned at her strange movements. What power did she hold?
Because each of Chaos's shattered souls held a different kind of power, it was quite interesting to see what this girl could do.
"I don't need to explain that, because you will see for yourself what she can do." Aaron was being kind by replying to her words, as it seemed his mood was very light at this moment. "If you really want to know, you can come and take a closer look. Don't be shy."
Skylar hated it, the door was open, but she didn't want to step forward and be in the same room as the two of them.
She got a bad feeling about this entire situation. And something indeed happened when she saw how Flo pressed her palm against Norbeat's head.
"You should have let me try with them first, you know…" Flo glanced at Aaron before she started sucking out Norbeat's soul.
The devil didn't say anything, but the smile didn't leave his lips when he grinned at the little girl, who looked so upset because of this matter.
It was not that Aaron didn't want Flo to take Skylar and Norbeat's soul first, but he just wanted to play safe. Just in case, he couldn't save Flo when they confronted Chaos. He couldn't lose three shattered souls at the same time, right?
At the very least, he could keep Skylar and Norbeat by his side.
As for the alpha…
That shifter was useless, he had the smallest amount of Chaos's soul and was not smart enough to help with anything, as he kept complaining about a lot of things.
And so, Aaron had put something on his soul, because he already expected that Chaos would aim at him if he couldn't get Flo, since he was not in a great condition. He was only a step away from releasing the darkness inside him, after all.
"What are you going to do?" Skylar seemed to have already guessed it, but she was still in disbelief, because as far as she knew, it was only Chaos who could do something like this.
"Wait and see." Aaron winked at Skylar who was stunned to see the most impossible thing in her mind actually materialising right before her eyes.
Skylar covered her mouth to prevent herself from crying out loud when Norbeat's body started fading away, as his soul left him.
She didn't like him because he was so noisy and annoying, but they had spent decades together gathering Chaos's shattered souls.
Even the three of them, she, Norbeat and Killian had promised that they would disappear from this world together. They would return to their owner, Chaos, after this long and hard journey.
But, this was not the way they wanted to leave.
Skylar fell to her knees. Her entire body was trembling, not even in a million years would she have thought that one of Chaos's shattered souls would be able to possess the same power as him.
Did Chaos know about this? What would he do? Where was he now?!
=========================
"Should you do that?" Zuri asked in a small voice, but Tia didn't have a problem hearing her, as she stood behind her.
Zuri was sitting on the ground, the snow had melted because of the blasting power that Chaos showcased earlier, but it didn't mean the weather was not cold.
"There is nothing you can do even if you are here to accompany him." Tia glanced at her granddaughter, thinking that she was as silly and ridiculous as her mother. She was also very stubborn, even though she couldn't tell that the trait was not coming from her as well.
"You didn't answer my question," Zuri refused to talk about something else. She wanted an answer to her question, because she had a lot to ask, but didn't know where to start.
"Yes." Tia sighed deeply. "Can you guarantee that he will not wreak havoc if I let him go without any protection? He almost razed my pack house." She kindly reminded her about it.
"He will get sick if you let him stay in the open in such weather." Zuri narrowed her eyes when the snow started to pile on Chaos's shoulders.
Right now, Chaos was in a sitting position on the cold ground, his back leaned against a big tree, but no one could come closer to him because Tia had surrounded him with a strong protection barrier, just in case he woke up and lost his control upon himself again.
There was no one that would be able to guarantee that he wouldn't.
"You must be crazy to worry about him getting sick. Even if he is buried under the frozen river, he will come back alive. That's not something that you should be worried about." Tia sneered.
There was a long moment of silence that stretched out between them.
Zuri knew that Chaos wouldn't get sick because of this, but she couldn't help her feelings.
Chaos fell unconscious after Aaron and Flo had left. He got a little bit of his shattered soul from the alpha, but it didn't seem to be enough.
After that, Tia ordered her people to put Chaos under a strong protection spell. It was fine when he was unconscious, but they didn't know what kind of Chaos that they would face when he opened his eyes.
"I hate this place," Zuri muttered after a long moment of silence.
Tia sighed deeply, she didn't even try to mask her annoyance. "Your mother said the same thing before she chose to go away from this place."
"Maybe it is because you are too annoying." Zuri sat down while hugging her legs before resting her head on her knees. "Aw!" she cried in pain and whipped her head around to the person behind her, when she felt someone hit her head and it was none other than her grandmother who was standing right behind her. "You don't need to hit me! You are so violent, I think this is another reason why my mother left here!"
Tia shook her head, she seemed to need more patience to face Zuri. "Do you remember your mother?"
Zuri returned to her original position, she hugged her legs and then rested her head on her knees. "No. She died after she gave birth to me and since then, I lived with my father."
She felt bad because she forgot her father's face, since she was too little the last time she saw him.
"She looked exactly like you, when I saw you the first time, I thought it was your mother, who returned." Tia stared into the distance, her eyes were empty, as if her mind was elsewhere.
"I have a picture of her when I was little, but I lost it when our house was attacked. I don't remember her face in that picture. I don't even remember my father." There was no sadness in Zuri's voice, only emptiness, as if she reiterated an old story, where she didn't put her heart in it. "We were attacked by the green people."
"Green people? What a ridiculous name."
Zuri felt like she needed to get used to the way her grandmother spoke. She tended to look down on everything that she disliked and didn't care much to cover it.
"I don't know what they were, but my father called them so." Zuri remembered that night. The last night she saw her father. He told her to run without him.
Would the end have been different had she stayed with him?
Tia didn't say anything in response to that, she then tapped on Zuri's shoulder. "If your panties are soaked, go inside. You will not help anything by freezing yourself in this weather."
Zuri pouted her lips when she heard that. "You have a distasteful way to annoy people, grandma."
Tia walked away from her, but not before replying to that. "Well, where do you think you got that skill from?"
Zuri frowned when she heard that, but she didn't want to make a big deal out of it and stayed there. She tried to get closer to Chaos, but she couldn't get rid of the protection around him.
She wanted to brush away the snow that gathered on his shoulders and hug him, to keep him warm, or even ask him to bring her to his realm, where the time was still and no one would bother them.
"Chaos, it is getting so hard… I feel like I have been running for a long time without knowing where to go." Zuri stared at Chaos's sleeping face.
He looked at peace, as if he was just sleeping and when he opened his eyes, he would smile at her and give her a kiss, like he usually did.
However, Zuri knew better that the opposite could happen.
And it was way better to put him under the protection, lock him there, rather than facing the options of whether she should stab him or not.
