Unsealing Emptiness

Chapter 25

Count Oliver.

No one created any sound in the room.

The Viscount’s son was stunned and cried while watching his father die. He wanted nothing more than to tear these people apart!

Ozul stood up and arrived in front of the teen boy. The teen boy stared daggers at Ozul with his bloodshot eyes. Ozul ignored the blatant bloodlust, and said;

“Take me to the treasury, and I will let you live.”- Ozul and Raven lacked the resources, and the Viscount probably had abundant of them!

“I WOULD NEVER DO IT!!!”-the teen boy refused to listen to the assailants that killed his father.

“Hm? You have a chance to live and take revenge. Anyways, even if you don’t show me the treasury—it will just take a long time to find it.”- It was true Ozul just wanted to save his time. He then continued,

“But you, on the other hand, will be dead.”-

The teen boy gritted his teeth. He was infuriated and wanted nothing more to kill the guy in front of him, but he knew as he was now, it was impossible.

.....

The promise to let him live could also be just a ruse. But even if the chances of him surviving are close to null, it would be better.

The teen boy led Ozul and Raven to the treasury. Raven put all the pills and vital supplies into her Spatial Ring.

All these resources could help her for a very long time.

Ozul kept his promise and let the teen boy go. Now, most people would object to leaving a root that could harm you in the future. But Ozul did so because he was confident. Confident that by the time that root will grow, he would already be flying in the sky.

Furthermore, he had promised to let him go. It was beneath him to lie. He would rather not talk than lie.

The teen boy took one last look at Ozul and went on his way. There were many emotions in that last look. There was disbelief that Ozul let him go away, There was anger that Ozul killed his father, and then there was the determination to take his revenge.

But how could he possibly know that his enemy was already years younger than him?

Ozul and Raven did not linger any longer and ran back to their house. But unknown to them, some people hidden in the shadows had witnessed the entire scene.

————-

Some people dressed in the black outside of the Manor; were hidden in the trees. One of them spoke to the rest,

“Abort mission. Report everything to Lord Oliver. He would like the news.”- The voice sounded raspy, and there was a tint of amusement in it.

————-

It did not take much longer for Ozul and Raven to arrive back.

All this time, Raven did not do anything except for running. But she was still exhausted. All the stress of going against a group of strong people took a toll on her mental strength.

At the same time, she was amazed that Ozul took down a Viscount and all his people single-handedly!

The amazement though quickly subsided as she just believed that it was Ozul—and he could do just about anything.

After that, there was the feeling of butterflies in her stomach. Ozul took her revenge. The souls of people in her village could now rest in peace.

She also obtained so many expensive items from the treasury. All in all, she was on cloud nine.

Both of them had just arrived in their room when Ozul started taking his shirt off! For the assassination today, he had changed the shirt to a black one.

Watching the chiseled abs on his lean body, Raven had steam coming out of her ears!

Ozul never worked out, but his body was as fit as one could get! It was not something muscular because his body muscles were tightly packed together. So, even though he did not look like it, his body packs quite a punch.

“W-what are you doing!”- Raven could faint any minute now. She could not understand why Ozul was taking off his shirt.

“Changing my shirt.”- Ozul simply looked at Raven like he was looking at an idiot. Isn’t it apparent that he was changing his shirt?

“I...I know that! But why are you doing it here?!”- Raven, for some reason, had a problem with it.

“Does it matter?”- Changing a shirt in front of a girl was not a problem, but for Raven, it was a sensitive matter.

“N-no...”- Raven replied. She would stutter at every other word.

As Ozul changed his shirt, Raven could only look on the ground with a bashful face.

Only when Ozul changed his shirt and went out of the room did Raven regained her cool. But she could not shake out the image of Ozul with his ‘godly body’ out of her mind.

-In another large Manor-

Inside the office, sat a man with blonde hair. In front of him, three men clad in black kneeled as the man himself looked outside the window.

“How did it go?”- The man spoke. He kept his eyes out of the window but was talking to the three people.

“We had to abort the mission.”- One of the kneeling men replied.

“Why?”-The blonde man frowned as he listened.

“Someone else completed the mission.”-

“Hm? Someone else? Who?”- The blonde man’s frown turned into an expression of amusement.

“There were two people. Both covered in black clothing a wore a mask. But from their heights, people would guess that they were only kids—which is highly unlikely.” The masked man replied

“Highly unlikely, but not impossible. Search for them, if you can’t find anything, then search for two kids who had some dispute with the Viscount.” The blonde man replied.

“As you command, Lord Blacksport.”- The masked man addressed the person sitting on the chair.

He was Oliver Blacksport—The Count of the Azmar City. For some reason, he had also set up an assassination for the Viscount.

Now hearing that two masked assailants had done all the work for him, he was intrigued.

Oliver was a clever man; he would be a fool not to suspect some kids just because it is highly unlikely.

He wanted to see if those people would want to work for him. Oliver always appreciates talented people.

He only has two Rank-5 Mages under, and someone who could so quickly kill another Rank-5 Mage is welcome to join under him.

-Back to Ozul-

Ozul did not bother with all the mess and just cleaned his spot before lying down and gazing at the ever-present void.

On the other hand, Raven’s mind could not sit well with all the rubbish and mess scattered around. It was around midnight, but she started cleaning the whole house.

It took her about an hour before she finished. The house did not look like a broken-down, abandoned, and decades-old haunted house anymore.

Seeing that she could finally relax, she took the blanket and went outside towards Ozul.

Ozul had not slept yet and still kept looking vacantly at the night sky.

When Raven arrived beside him and kept looking at him with puppy eyes, he did not care. Raven was depressed that he will send her away again.

But to her surprise, when she neared Ozul, there was no resistance from him.

Ozul had given up to stop Raven from not sleeping with him and just accepted his fate. Even if he were to push her away now—she will again come back later at night.

When Raven saw that he had finally allowed her to sleep next to him, she was overjoyed. She hurriedly put the blanket over both of them and laid down beside Ozul. She did not like it when she sleeps alone in the dark and empty room.

Before closing her eyes, she whispered;

“Thank you...”

Ozul had done so much for her, but she had never done anything in return. Even expressing her thanks was difficult for her.

“Just repay me in the future.” Ozul did not need any thanks, not because of the notion of “There is no need of thanks between us.”, but because he would rather have Raven do physical labor than a simple thank you.

Raven did not mind repaying him in the future. After all, it was her plan all along.

“I will!” She declared while looking straight into Ozuls eyes.

“Even if you don’t, I will force you.” Ozul said in a flat tone.

Raven pouted at Ozuls distrust in her conviction but did not say anything; the future would prove that she was sincere in her resolve to repay him.

Both of them closed their eyes and slept peacefully.

Tomorrow they may find something unexpected though...
