Chapter 87 - Mother And Daughter Settles Their Differences 2.
Madam Liu got her signal and changed sides immediately.
She put on a worried look on her face as she patted Lady Chen on the shoulder gently, "Ju Ju, what's wrong, why are you crying?".
More tears flowed down Lady Chen's cheeks when she heard Madam Liu Bilu's question. And she opened her mouth to answer while stammering, "Ha...ve you se...en a mo..o..ther that that...ttt".
Seeing that she was choking on her words and stammering, Madam Liu gave Lady Chen a thumbs up in her head while saying to herself, 'what a good actress'.
Chen Lihua who was directly facing them had a look of astonishment on her face as she watched her mother cry and choke on herself.
She began to ask herself, 'What's wrong with this woman?, I just asked her a simple question and streams of tears started to roll down her cheeks?, Since when did she easily become emotional?'.
Lady Chen and Madam Liu were too immersed in their acting that they didn't even bother to care or guess Chen Lihua's thoughts and opinions on the current matter.
After praising Lady Chen in her head, Madam Liu continued to console her while offering her a handkerchief to wipe her tears, "Ju Ju calm down, and wipe your tears before you resume your explanation".
Lady Chen accepted the handkerchief from her and used it to dab her tears from the corner of her eyes and cheeks while sniffing.
While sniffing and dabbing her tears, Lady Chen glanced at Chen Lihua from the corners of her eye and saw the latter staring so intently at her as if waiting for a good show.
Lady Chen squeezed the handkerchief in her hands and muttered under her breath, "Evil child!".
As if she didn't see or say anything, Lady Chen recollected her gaze and transffered it to Madam Liu and asked pitifully, "Bilu, have you seen a mother that doesn't even have the right to tell and show her child to the world?".
Madam Liu shook her head with a pitiful look on her face, "I've never seen or heard of it".
"You see, even your mother-in-law has never seen or heard of such". Lady Chen said looking at Chen Lihua, before turning to look at Madam Liu, "But am that type of mother, probably the only one who can't show her child to the world".
Madam Liu shook her head again in pity as she continued to listen to lady Chen.
"I am proud to be a mother of such a well accomplished and successful daughter, but I can't even boast about it". Lady Chen said as she pointed at Chen Lihua who was still looking at intently.
Then looking at Madam Liu again, she said with a sad tone, "My heart already has a crack everytime am being questioned about my daughter by the reporters. They would always ask me about my daughter and her health as they have never seen her before, and everytime I would answer, 'She's fine, thank you'. I felt as if I was childless everytime I saw a mother and her daughter together in public or pictures, laughing, and joking. While am not able to do any of that simply because my daughter doesn't want to be in the limelight".
Lady Chen scoffed and said with a raised voice as she looked at Chen Lihua, "What kind of a stupid reason is that?".
Chen Lihua didn't say a word as she was being scolded by her mother.
The reason Chen Lihua didn't say a word was because as she listened to her mother express her pain of not being able to show her off to the world, she felt pity and sympathy for her.
She felt that she was the cause of her mother's pain and anguish. So that was why when Lady Chen played her compassion trick, she didn't expose her because she wanted to listen to her till the end before taking action.
And now that she had listened to her mother till the end, Chen Lihua didn't know what to do.
Madam Liu who was listening to Lady Chen, felt a headache coming when she heard the latter's outburst, so she patted Lady Chen gently on the shoulder to calm her down.
Lady Chen continued staring at Chen Lihua with a hint of sadness and loneliness in her eyes as she waited for the latter's response.
After struggling with herself for a while, Chen Lihua made up her mind. She raised her head to face her mother before saying slowly and loud enough to their hearing.
"Mum am sorry for causing you troubles and pain unknowingly, forgive me. From today onwards, you're free to tag me in your posts, post my pictures, and make a comment about me publicly".
Honestly, Lady Chen and Madam Liu weren't expecting this as they had a look of surprise on their faces.
