Chapter 82: Just you wait..
"Well anyway, let's get down to business, it looks like you wanted to meet me? can I ask why that is? is there anything you want to know? or maybe you require some assistance?"
"Well, its none of that, your son, Frode, promised me that if I were to win, he would do anything to fulfill one wish of mine, and I couldn't think of anything other than building a healthy relationship with an Einherjar, since I think it would benefit both of us in the long run," Night said while he wore a convincing smile.
"Hmmm, I understand but how would you be beneficial to me?"
"That seems fair, alright, how bout this, I'll do one task that you assign, of course, only as long as it's a task that doesn't involve a crime or things like that. That way you'll be able to see what I can do and to make it harder on me I'll make sure my companions don't help me in the slightest. Is that alright?"
"Hmmm...." Njal actually proceeded to consider Night's request, in his eyes, Night was definitely an impressive young man who had a lot of potential, especially considering his age and the amount of control Night achieved over the dark element, this was only natural since Njal wasn't really aware of Night's actually prowess.
"Alright, that seems interesting, very well, I have something in mind already, when do you wish to start?" Njal asked.
"Right now is fine, if you're okay with it,"
'Confidence...interesting, this may very well be worth my time,' Njal thought as he slightly smirked.
"Very well, let us leave now, in case you didn't know, every Einherjar's residence has a dungeon which is used for training, and before you even ask, no I'm not sure who put it there or how it was created but all I can tell you is that the dungeon was created by our ancestors and it is one of the Einherjari's core duties to protect and train in the dungeon, our residence was built over these dungeons, which makes protecting it easier. As for the rewards, nobody knows, you may either find it a complete waste of time or some heavenly treasure, it all depends on one's luck,"
'Hell naw, luck again?? I mean obviously but come on man, gimme a break...' Night thought while he was desperately holding back a frown.
"Alright then, let's get going,"
The residence was awfully extravagant, it didn't at all seem like something the Norse would live in, with wide and empty halls and lustrous marble floors with designs that put even the best floor designers in reality to shame, paintings were put up, though initially, Night thought it was too extra he soon understood that it was all a cover, to divert the attention from the colossal dungeon that existed underneath.
"I'm assuming that the existence of such a dungeon or the existence of dungeons underneath the Einherjari's residence is confidential?"
"Not bad, not bad, you are right, this is something we cannot reveal to the public, obviously, if people knew then all of our homes would be flooded with power-hungry adventurers."
"Then...I'm assuming that you told me not because you trust me but because you can do something that won't let me spread information regarding this...that is of course if I betray your trust or fail your test..." Night said while rubbing his chin.
"You really are a smart one...unusually so but yes, we do have something that can help us in case such a thing happens," Njal said with his eyes shining, he was surprised by how quick Night found that out.
"We're here, you're companions can join me and the others in the monitoring room, I'll have you know, anything can happen inside, so careful, oh and you get to keep the rewards, whatever it is, who knows if its something nice, I'll buy it off you, haha,"
// // //
"Brother, do you really think that was Night? ....I mean...he's too carefree to be Night, but of course, nobody knows who Night is or how he acts. I understand that he said he wasn't Night in the end and all but he could've lied then...."
"Ah, so you noticed as well...I'm not sure about whether he lied or not, but one thing is for certain, that was definitely Sephiroth, I don't know why but it just seems right..." Arthur said while playing with his ring.
"Olly! get me any information you can about 'Sephiroth', anything at all, I understand if you cant find anything but still, try your best, use the family name if you have to,"
"Just you wait, you moron, just ..you wait.."
