Chapter 56: Flat Line
Chapter 56: Flat Line
"Ah, I've made considerable progress, guess I'll take a break now?" Nate muttered to himself as he got up to leave the pocket dimension.
"Exit"
The second he got out, he almost crashed into another person who was looking for a pocket dimension, she had red hair and golden eyes.
"Oh...I apologize, are you done using the room?" she asked.
"No, no, I should be the one apologizing and yes you can go ahead," he said while smiling.
The red-haired girl then watched as Nate walked away, once she entered she had a puzzled look on her face, the mana in the room was left excited, it was like the mana was waiting to be absorbed by someone.
"What? I've never seen this before? is this perhaps.... because of him? I should ask Valerian what he thinks, he's done a lot of research perhaps he might know something,"
Naturally, the girl speaking was Aurora, but Nate had no idea who she was, Night never mentioned the exact details of his encounters so he obviously couldn't recognize her.
"Anyway, I should take advantage of the situation,"

Meanwhile, Blade was in a tent, he was currently with other adventures, helping the Imperial Kingdom with fending off the monsters.
Usually, such situations would perhaps last only a few days but the current battle has been going on for far too long, the monster's numbers never thinned out, in fact, it looked the same as the first day.
"Just what is going??! why hasn't the Imperial Kingdom sent us any backup? how come I don't see any Falcons???" cried an adventurer but nobody criticized him, everyone was exhausted after weeks of battle with barely any time to rest.
"I wonder what master would do...." Blade muttered causing everyone in the tent to look at him.
"I hate to tell you this, YOUR MASTER would be just as powerless, I do not mean any offense but it just seems too far fetched that someone would be able to take care of such a situation and still not be renowned,"
"Oh? brat, I CHOSE to be anonymous, remember that, Blade we need to train you more, and as for the situation outside I'll take care of it." Noel's voice surprised many, nobody could sense him or even hear him approach, in fact, everyone was curious as to who he was, a random nobody with a mask perhaps? but Blade was delighted to see the man and got up and just bowed,
"This disciple apologizes to Master,"
"Bah I don't care about that, well whatever, either you stay inside or come out and watch," Noel said while pointing to the others who still had a dazed expression.
The only thing stopping the thousands of monsters from rushing forward was a huge gate that held back anything that was deemed hostile, on the other side of this gate was the Wilderness, usually, it wasn't anything dangerous and adventurers were allowed to travel back and forth but for some reason a few weeks ago the monsters seemed agitated and started to attack the walls.
Noel casually walked outside and looked at the adventurers fending of the few monsters that were let inside, the adventurers who were helping the Imperial Kingdom would work in shifts. The gates would always remain close until Blade's group was in charge, it was deemed that Blade and his group were stronger than the others and they should handle the beasts that flooded as soon as the gates were open.
"Oy, open the gates" Noel ordered.
Without questioning, the adventure followed his orders, initially, he was quite reluctant but once he saw Blade and his group he calmed down.
Since the gate was not too big even if monsters rushed in, only a few would manage to do so at a time. The second the gates opened monsters began rushing forward, the others immediately took their weapons out, Noel, however, just simply walked forward swinging his katana as if it was nothing and the monsters were cleanly cut not realizing what had just happened.
"The reason as to why it seems as if the number is still the same is simple, that's because it is,"
"???!!"
"???"
"..."
"Necromancy" he pointed to the horde.
"Anyway just climb up and watch if you want to," he said before slightly crouching with his back bent forward.
Without any hesitation, the group immediately climbed to the top of the wall to witness Noel's strength.
"Void Style-"
The second he said those two words he disappeared and immediately appeared right in front of the Necromancer, it was an undead Lich that was disguising itself as a beast but the second it sensed Noel it backed away and broke its cover.
"-Flat line"
It seemed as though time had stopped for everybody but Noel who just simply drew a line with his katana. He didn't feel like overdoing it as he was worried he might disfigure the very space itself.
*?????*
Everyone just stared as it looked like an empty line just passed through the monsters, a second later, almost every single monster dropped dead with their heads flying in the sky, a ripple of maddening pressure could be felt.
*????*
The trees that were once present seemed to have been missing, the ground seemed flatter than usual and everyone just watched as Noel stood in the middle of tens of thousands of corpses.
