Chapter 11 Solo (3)

Congratulations! The skill Bash has leveled up.
You obtained 01 Status points.
This time, Jake made sure to put that status point into speed. While Life Steal was probably the best method for a solo player to fight alone for long periods of time, speed would also help… at the cost of stamina, but it would help nonetheless.
Jake began to walk in searching for the next target and it didn't take long before he could hear the sound of wings flapping. While there wasn't a bat per tree, there were still many around. When the creature approached, Jake used Bash as high as he could, but he only hit the stomach of the monster. It was annoying fight flying monsters because of that and Jake already could imagine how annoying it will be to fight one that could attack from a distance as well.
Nevertheless, Jake swung his sword toward the wing of the creature and while it hit, the creature screamed in agony and Jake clicked his tongue in annoyance. That sure would attract other monsters, but the creature could stop, Jake pierced its throat with his sword causing critical damage and finishing off the monster. Blood splashed on his body and even the smell made him frown, it was really realistic...
"They are annoying, but their defense is low…" Jake thought as he looked around for the next enemy.
In the end, another giant bat appeared and that one didn't come alone. It came with the other two… Jake wanted to conserve his stamina as much as possible, but trying that in such a situation would be stupidity.
Two of the bats attacked Jake at the same time from front and behind, but Jake blocked the charge by using Bash with his shield and sword and hitting both of them at the same time. He didn't stop there, he spun around and then activated Bash two times once again and hit both creatures in the head. Somehow, he did so in time to kill both of them while dealing two critical hits.

However, the last one used that moment where Jake was Busy with them to fly toward his throat. The big mouth of the monster opened and when Jake felt its teeth piercing his neck, he thought that the monster would bite off it. That was one hell of an unpleasant feeling, but before Jake could suffer critical damage yet again, he smashed the head of the monster with his left shield. The giant bat got dizzy and then its mouth loosened it. Before the creature could even fall, Jake pierced its mouth with his sword while showing a vicious look in his eyes.
"Fucking worm…" Jake said as he pierced his sword even deep down the throat of the giant bat.
In the next moment, the creature died. Instead of relieved, Jake clicked his tongue in annoyance, he lost one third of his health in a single attack and the monster didn't die sooner because it had drained his blood. Nevertheless, Jake waited for the body to disappear and see if something dropped, but then nothing happened.
Jake just shrugged at the sight of the body that wasn't disappearing. The game developers were crazy… why create so many features that would make players run away from it? Hopefully, the map resets every day or something. Otherwise, at some moment the maps would have so many corpses that even the craziest of the players would give up on the game.
"All right… Let's aim for their throat next time," Jake muttered. "This should prevent those fuckers from calling allies."
While that would help, it would help even more if Jake could find a way out of that forest. While it seemed that the number of monsters was high, playing in the enemies turf wasn't the best option. In any case, that gave Jake an idea… when the next enemy began to flap its wings, Jake didn't raise his shield. Instead of that, he didn't move a single Inch until he confirmed where the enemy was. When he saw the big mouth of the creature approaching, Jake moved his sword towards it. While he actually hit his target, the body of the monster still collided against him and made him fall on the ground. On the good side, the monster was unable to free itself and while it was agonizing due to the attack, it trembled all over making the sword cause more damage.

"I need more points in Speed…" Jake said as he moved the corpse of the giant bat way from his body.
Once again, the monster didn't drop anything, but nearby where Jake tossed the body, he found something… it was a blue herb.
Blue Angel
This plant gives birth to a leaf every day that can restore your mana by ten points. When planting, the leaves can become a blue angel in five days.
Luckily enough, the herb already had five leaves. While he had been lucky, Jake was unnerving enough to have wished for a plant that could create leaves that restored health or stamina. Those would be way more useful for him.
"Well then… it seems we can cultivate these, but where can I do that?" Jake rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Jake was pretty sure that the crystal server town didn't have places that players could rent to do whatever the hell they wanted. So, the only place the players coile cultivate them were in maps like those.
"I suppose this is a good place to hide a plantation of herbs… the problem is: can I find it later?" Jake thought.
There is also the fact that Jake had to choose the right map, after all, once he selects a mission, he can't leave, probably until he defeats the dungeon boss. So, if he were to creat a plantation of those, he might lose five hours of hunting time at least once per five days.
"Let's keep this with me for the time being," Jake nodded to himself.
