Chapter 389 - Aaron Meets Mike
Aaron walked down the hospital corridor which looked very quiet. Of course, because it was half-past two in the morning. he walked at a leisurely pace, occasionally glancing at the door of the inpatient room and seeing that patients were being treated and some families looked after them as well.
Inside the magnificent hospital which is dominated by brownish-white wall paint, Aaron is about to visit his mother who has been in a coma for two months. he often stayed at the hospital, because he couldn't bear to leave his mother alone while his grandfather had to stay at home because his health was getting worse with age.
Arriving at the VVIP room which is where his mother is, Aaron immediately entered and was surprised to see a man sitting holding his mother's hand. he had not seen the man's face, but he was sure it was not his grandfather because his posture was much more manly and his hair was not as much white as his grandfather.
"Who are you?" asked Aaron as he walked over to the man who was accompanying his mother.
Hearing footsteps and someone asking, Mike immediately turned to glance at that person. 'Who's he? Is it possible? Could he be my son?'
"Why are you here? And how do you know my mother is being cared for here?" Aaron continued to ask while glancing at Mike who was still holding Sarah's hand.
"I ... I'm your mom's friend," Mike replied as he let go of his hand on Sarah's, then stood up and smiled at Aaron. "Mr. Hans told about your mother's whereabouts. Are you her son?"
"Yeah," Aaron said with a straight look and then walked to the right side of Sarah's bed, while Mike was still in the chair on the left.
Mike didn't think that his son, whom he had left when he was still in the womb, had now become a man with a stout body that surpassed him. His lips were dry and he couldn't speak. He wanted to admit that he was his father, but seeing his gaze so flat seemed to make him hesitate.
'Maybe this isn't the right time,' Mike thought.
Aaron kissed his mother's forehead for a moment then rubbed her mother's forehead lovingly. "Mom, I came to accompany you."
Mike continued to stare sadly at Aaron. He felt guilty for his son who loved his mother so much that he had just left. If time could go back, the man wanted to redo it all and raise his son with love. His cowardice had already sunk him into remorse.
"Are you a close friend of mommy?" asked Aaron.
"Yeah," Mike said with a smile and nodded.
"Why haven't I seen you see mommy or heard anything about you?" asked Aaron with a probing look. he could clearly remember the man in front of him holding his mother's hand and looking at her as if he was sad. 'He must not be just a friend of Mom's,' he thought surprisingly.
"Eh, I moved overseas a long time ago. and only a few months ago I returned to Indonesia," Mike explained a little nervously, then sat himself down in a chair.
Aaron nodded in understanding and sighed. "My name is Aaron, nice to meet you," he said then held out his hand to Mike.
"Just call Mr. Mike," Mike shouted as he shook hands with Aaron.
Aaron nodded and took off his handshake. He looked back at his mother who was still lying unconscious. The room was silent, only the sound of the heart rate monitor echoing.
"I'm sorry for your mother's condition." Mike looked at Sarah.
"In all my life, I have never seen my mother happy. I can only see her sweet smile from the photos of her youth that my grandfather kept," said Aaron sadly.
"Her smile is very sweet and your mom is a strong and independent woman," Mike said while remembering the young times he was still Sarah's best friend.
"Are you very close to her?" asked Aaron with a probing look.
"Eh, yes. We have been friends since childhood," Mike replied.
"So, you also know about her life, her story?" asked Aaron again. He is like a journalist who finds the right source who will give him a lot of information about his mother's past story.
"Not too much," Mike lied. He was still a coward who didn't dare to tell the truth about himself and Sarah. He was afraid that his son would be very angry with him while he was just relieved to see his son had grown up.

Elsewhere, Keenan was sleeping and groping towards his left side. He immediately woke up to find his left side empty while there was still Jasmine. 'Where is she going?'
Keenan got up from his king-size bed which was covered with navy blue sheets, then walked to the bathroom.
"Honey," Keenan called as he opened the bathroom door but he didn't see Jasmine in there. The man immediately went in and washed his face to get rid of the sleepiness, then brushed his teeth.
After washing his face and brushing his teeth, Keenan walked out of the room and down the stairs to the ground floor. he walked through several rooms in his magnificent house with modern furniture and complete with decorations on the walls or cabinets, there are also several antique jars in every corner of the room.
"Honey, where are you?" Keenan kept calling out to Jasmine while walking towards the kitchen across the dining room.
"I'm here," said Jasmine as she walked over to Keenan who was now standing in front of the kitchen door. She brought a serving of instant noodles in a bowl and passed her husband until she arrived at the dining room.
Keenan sighed as he looked at Jasmine who was about to eat instant noodles which for him was not healthy for pregnant women. He also wondered why his wife was so often hungry when she was four months pregnant.
"Honey, why are you eating instant noodles at this time of night? You know it's not good for your health." Keenan walked over to Jasmine.
"Only tonight. Besides, I haven't eaten instant noodles in a long time," said Jasmine with a smile and then sat herself down on the dining table chair.
"I'm surprised, you usually don't like instant noodles. But why did you like it when you were pregnant?" Keenan sat in the chair right next to Jasmine.
"Who knows." Jasmine shrugged her shoulders, then immediately ate the instant noodles with a fork.
Keenan smiled as he watched Jasmine, who looked ravenously eating. He immediately pinched his wife's slightly chubby cheeks. "You are so cute."
"But I'm not a baby."
"A grown woman can be cute too. And that's you." Keenan kissed Jasmine's cheek.
"Oiya, I started to feel our baby can move this afternoon. Too bad you're in the office. I want you to feel the movement," said Jasmine occasionally shoving the instant noodles into her mouth, feeding Keenan as well.
"Is that true?" Keenan looked speechless.
Jasmine just nodded. Keenan directly touched Jasmine's stomach which was already slightly enlarged. "Hopefully it moves again after I touch it," he said with an amused smile.
"Erm." Jasmine didn't flinch. "And it does move, but it's still just twitching," she continued, chuckling slightly.
"Wow, I didn't think there was life in here." Keenan looked down at Jasmine's stomach which was still covered in pink pajamas. "May it always be healthy."
"It will be fine, maybe look like you it was a baby boy," Jasmine muttered then devoured the few remaining instant noodles.
"And if was a girl, she would be very beautiful as you," said Keenan with an amused smile, then lowered his head to kiss Jasmine's belly. but when he was about to get back up into his sitting position, he hit the table.
"Awww!" groaned Keenan while holding his head.
"Oh, that must hurt." Jasmine immediately rubbed Keenan's head, then put her arm around him. Ugh, her husband is like a child that his mother is worried about.
"It doesn't hurt anymore." Keenan even kissed Jasmine's chest.
"Really? How come it heals so fast?" Jasmine looked down at Keenan in surprise.
"Because it's been hugged." Keenan smiled and buried his face into Jasmine's chest again. finally, his wife failed to finish her instant noodles because it was cold and too soft due to being invited to joke with her.
