"If you don’t have anything to do, how about if you help out scouting?" Shieli turned her head around to look at Neo.
"Ah? Don’t I need to rest too."
"That’s Shiro."
"But I’ll also need energy for tonight."
"It’s important for a sniper to know the target location of his job. If you don’t want to scout, I’ll report to Boss."
Neo: "..." what’s with the difference in treatment?
He wanted to cry but no tears were coming out. Looking at Shiro, he noticed that the latter had already pretended to be sleeping. Before he could protest, Shieli already ushered him out to search for information and position for sniping tonight.
"Where do you plan to stay tonight, Shiro?"
Shiro peeked his head out of his blanket. "I’ll just position myself on top of the hospital. There’s a tower that Kevin had built."
"You mean storage room," Shieli corrected him. Because Shiro would be staying here for a long time, Kevin decided to build a storage room on top of the hospital. The hospital itself was already quite high, and with the additional storage room, it was even taller than before.
This would make it easier for both Neo and Shiro to do their work and watch over the surrounding areas.
"Yeah, that one. There’s no need to worry so much and just watch us over," Shiro said and pulled the blanket up.
"Alright."
Shieli no longer bothered Shiro and walked out of the room. She was about to rest when she saw Alice stood not far from the room. Alice was wearing a long blue dress with short sleeves. With her princess-like appearance, she looked so adorable in this outfit.
Alice’s eyes lit up when she saw Shieli. "Sister Shieli! Are you done with your shift today?"
"Not yet. I still have to prepare the necessary equipment for some tasks," Shieli replied with a smile. "What are you doing here, Princess Alice."
"Aww, don’t call me princess." Alice giggled. "I’m here to ask for some help. Can you check this in the lab? I need to know the exact composition."
Alice took out a bottle and handed it over to Shieli. Looking at the bottle, Shieli nodded. "Got it. I’ll do it tomorrow morning during my break."
"Alright. Thank you, Sister Shieli!"
Shieli put the bottle away carefully in a box. She was one of the few people who had access to the laboratory in the hospital. Since Alice loved to experiment on new medicine, she needed a laboratory so that she would be able to investigate the effect of the medicine correctly.
She walked to the front and told the doctors to prepare the necessary kits. At the same time, she also prepared her basic self-defense weapon, which was a handgun that she slipped on her outer coat.
When it was night time, Shieli returned to the room while bringing Shiro’s dinner.
"It’s dinner time."
"Thanks," Shiro said calmly. He looked at Shieli with curiosity. "Did you find anything interesting about the location?"
"It’s the building located not far from here," Shieli replied. "They’re going to have a meeting with an important businessman and have some discussion about investment. However, the two parties have their own enemies, so it wouldn’t be a peaceful one."
"As long as no one try to do anything, we don’t need to make a move. Let me see the picture."
"Here."
Unlike Neo who could simply hack to look at the building, Shiro usually relied on direct contact. Jason would occasionally help him by hacking and arranging the view from the camera nearby. However, Shiro didn’t usually rely on those because it would not help him much in terms of distance’s judgement.
He didn’t want to see the screen too much because it could make him unable to judge the distance correctly.
Eyes were extremely important for a sniper. Shiro treated his own eyes carefully because he knew that he would need them for long distance shooting. On the other hand, Neo could barely pass for that because he spent almost an entire day in front of the screen.
He even wondered how Neo still could aim properly.
Though, the distance couldn’t be as far as him.
"From this distance, Neo should be able to do his job well," Shiro commented after he had seen the picture. It was only a few hundred meters, so it was not that far.
Shieli nodded. "Be careful of crossfire and the other party’s sniper."
"I know what I’m doing."
"Good."
"Can you call Neo?"
"Sure, but finish your food first."
Shiro smiled bitterly and began to eat faster. Shieli looked at him in approval and walked out of the room. It didn’t take long before she returned back with Neo following behind her. He was smiling widely.
"I have found the perfect spot to hide tonight."
"You’re not going to the rooftop today?" Shiro asked.
Neo shook his head. "It’s still a bit too far for me to shoot accurately, so I’ll move to the building 2 blocks horizontal from this one."
’Still too far?’
Shiro looked at Neo with arched eyebrows. "When I can walk again, let’s meet in a shooting range."
"Eh?"
"I’ll shoot you there."
Neo: "..." what did I do to offend you?
Shieli shook her head lightly. Shiro was a proud sniper, so he was unable to accept someone like Neo calling himself a sniper. He wanted to make sure that Neo would be able to do his job properly as a proper sniper.
At this time, her phone rang.
"Yes, Boss?"
"it’s time."
Shieli turned her head to look at the two of them. "It’s already the time for the meeting. Move to your position, Neo and let’s go, Shiro."
"Ok."
"Alright!"
With that, Neo took his bag and rushed out of the hospital. On the other hand, Shieli wheeled Shiro on the wheelchair to the elevator.
