"What’s with all these drinks?" Kanae was stunned when she saw the large box filled with nothing but drinks.
"Oh, it’s from Uncle," Kevin said lightly.
"Father?"
Kevin and Kanae were working at their work table. It was only a few months after their meeting in the Capital City and they were still as busy as ever. Of course, the two of them still had proper rest aside from working tirelessly.
"He always buys drinks once a year to commemorate his first meeting with his girlfriend," Kevin elaborated.
Kanae’s eyes widened when she heard what Kevin said. Her line of sight turned back to the box of drinks, wondering what kind of spectacular meeting Patrick had with that woman named Yuki.
Kevin smiled lightly and leaned in to kiss Kanae’s cheek. "You can ask Uncle for the details. I don’t want to spoil you with regards to their story."
"Don’t you know about it, Kevin?"
"I know, but I was nothing more than a little brat at that time," Kevin replied with a laugh. Patrick was 17 years older than him and when Patrick met Yuki, he was still a baby who didn’t understand anything. He only knew the events through the stories that the others told him in passing.
Kanae smiled a bit. "I think it’ll be fun to know how he met her."
"Let’s see." Kevin pondered for a moment before he took his phone and made a call to Neo. "Neo, prepare several bottles of wine for Uncle."
"Huh? Ok, Boss."
"Wine?"
"If he’s not drunk, he wouldn’t want to share those embarrassing stories."
Kanae’s eyes sparkled when she heard what Kevin said. This made her interest piqued. If those stories were as interesting as what Kevin said, it meant that there was time when Patrick was actually embarrassed.
Extending his hand, Kevin smiled. "Come on, let’s visit Uncle."
"Ok!"
Kanae grabbed Kevin’s hand and the two of them walked out. Some Ryukalin Clan members looked in their direction and when they noticed that the two of them were holding hands, they instinctively averted their eyes.
Damn!
They were still singles and yet they had to face their leader showing off his love every single day. With that in thoughts, the members started to train vigorously to vent their emotion.
"Brat, what do you mean by sending me bottles of wine?" Patrick asked in annoyance.
"Oh, Neo sure does his work fast," Kevin commented as he walked inside Patrick’s quarter with Kanae.
Looking at his nephew, Patrick had a feeling that he was up to something. However, Kevin didn’t say what he wanted directly as he picked up the bottle of wine and beckoned for his uncle to drink.
"I don’t want wine."
"Do you prefer to work on the papers, Uncle?"
Patrick: "..."
Knowing that it would be impossible for him to reject because Kevin would just force him to work. Rather than looking at those words that he couldn’t understand, Patrick immediately decided that it would be better for him to just stay at home and enjoy his idle time.
Well, he liked wine too.
Afterwards, Kevin began to talk about the training system for the members. Even though they had been working to change the city, they would not neglect the training of their men. It was important to make sure that they were still strong enough to protect the clan and do their work.
Ryukalin Clan had so many enemies.
"Heh, brat, the wine is really good," Patrick started to feel a bit lightheaded after drinking so much.
Kanae was looking at the bottles on the floor. There were at least 10 bottles that Patrick had drunk by himself. Just how high his tolerance was?
Kevin still kept his composure. "Uncle, can you tell me more about the fight that occurred in the Bar F last time?"
"What Bar F?"
"The fight where you’re thoroughly beaten up."
Patrick’s face darkened. "Don’t spout nonsense! There’s no way I can be beaten up. I’m the great Patrick Kalin from Ryukalin Clan. There’s no one who can surpass me in terms of martial arts capability."
"Really?" Kevin’s tone was flat, but it clearly hit the sore spot in Patrick’s heart. Patrick hated it when someone doubted his ability, especially his martial arts capability.
"Yes! I’m the best...."
With that, Patrick began to brag and in the middle of his bragging, Kanae was able to piece the big picture together.
...
Patrick was only a teenager at that time, who loved to create trouble. As the young master in Ryukalin Clan, no one dared to mess with him. Even though he was nothing more than a brat at that time, his fighting capabilities had soared greatly.
"Young Master, is it fine to come here?" a man from Ryukalin Clan asked quietly, thinking that it wouldn’t be good for Patrick to come here.
Patrick waved his hand. "That *ss**** asked me to come here. Why should I be afraid of a j******* like him that only know how to hide behind his ******* lackeys."
The man stayed quiet at the row of curses that Patrick spat out. At his age, Patrick was no different than many other teenagers. Arrogant, c.o.c.ky, and most importantly, loved to create trouble yet didn’t realize that his behavior would only create more trouble.
"Master has reminded that we..."
"It’s fine. As a young master, why should I care so much about those matters related to the clan? Even if I’m beaten up to ***** it’ll not affect my brother much," Patrick said lightly.
The man wanted to say more, but in the end, he just sighed. Patrick always loved to create trouble even during the time when their father was still alive. Unfortunately, their father died not long ago and the position of clan head fell on his older brother’s hand.
Patrick himself was not interested in the position as the Clan Head, so he accepted right away. Besides, the elders would protest heavily if he tried to become the clan head. His capabilities were simply not enough for him to become the clan head.
Bang!
"Now, let’s kick those ********!"
The men sighed and entered Bar F with Patrick’s lead.
