Unbreakable

Chapter 73 - If you experience twice

Chapter 73: If you experience twice

“Giwon.”

Dohyuk called out to him as he realized his new ‘skill’ as a god had been unlocked.

“Stand in front of me. Don’t be afraid.”

“...Yes.”

His follower answered and Dohyuk wielded his power.

<<Used 21000 faith to activate Divine Power>>

<< Disciple: Yoo Giwon – currently a temporary avatar of the God>>

It wasn’t the same as granting superhuman power. Instead, it allowed Giwon to act in Dohyuk’s name. Giwon was now the same as God Yoo Dohyuk himself. Giwon then stood against the storm.

“...Ugh.”

The storm blew for a second, but it was weak.

“Coward,” Dohyuk scoffed. This God Yabadop’s limit. The reason why he couldn’t attack Giwon anymore was simple.

<<Detected Divine Power being used against the same god rank>>

This world had rules. A god was not allowed to use their own power without using an avatar. If it was used against a mere human, the consequences weren’t severe, but if it was used against a god, the same damage that was inflicted would rebound back to the attacker.

“I would at least hit it if it were me,” Dohyuk taunted. The figure did respond by increasing its size, but that was it.

-...Get lost.

Yabadop’s voice filled the area and the canyon opened up from the top.

-Get out of my sight.

Yabadop had given up. There was no reason for him to take the risk to trade with these two humans.

-Never come back to...

“F*ck you.”

Dohyuk had no intention to do so. He jumped out and kicked the figure. It seemed that the figure had substance as it shook with the kick. Yet, it wasn’t only the figure that was damaged.

“Ugh!”

Dohyuk gasped with the pain. The rule applied to Dohyuk also. He then gritted his teeth and kicked some more.

“W-what are you...!” Giwon shouted. He didn’t know the details but it seemed the attack was coming right back at Dohyuk. There was no point to this. It seemed like the figure was taking damage, but it was only an avatar.

-FOOL!

The voice shouted to Dohyuk who landed with his shaking legs.

-I’m not like the others. I am not interested in you.

-But you are much worse. You don’t even know the rules...

“I know the rules.”

Dohyuk spat blood from his mouth and he could barely stand up with his shaking legs.

“I know... but unlike you, I know how to take risks.

Dohyuk threw something at Giwon. Before Giwon read the message, he realized what it was. It was what he owned once before.

“This...”

“We can’t leave empty-handed. You were beaten up for it.”

<<Bracelet of Yabadop(21) – S+>>

It was the equipment that Yabadop offered, and this was the reason why Dohyuk attacked. The figure was ‘holding’ the bracelet. If the figure was holding it, Dohyuk thought it meant that the figure wasn’t just an image and attacked.

“That’s the one, right?”

“Y-yeah! It is!”

The object was exactly the same as he remembered it.

“Go up first with it.”

Before Giwon can answer, the figure attacked Giwon, trying to slam him down. Yabadop was now out of patience.

-It is not yours to take!

Dohyuk jumped and pushed Giwon away before getting struck by the hand. Dohyuk stood up.

“Dohyuk!”

“Go up! I’m okay!”

“...!”

“Go up. Use the bracelet when you have to.”

Dohyuk commanded him and jumped again. Giwon then began climbing up, but he still trusted and believed that what Dohyuk knew what he was doing.

“So... you’re not a coward after all,” Dohyuk said and the figure kicked him. Dohyuk did not try to defend against it. He knew there was no way to block the attack from God Yabadop; he was a god after all. He didn’t want to take the damage, but since the bracelet was stolen, he was too angry now.

-Fool!

He couldn’t kill Dohyuk, but Yabadop hit Dohyuk multiple times. He did take the same amount of damage, but the damage done to Dohyuk was too tiny against giant Yabadop’s figure.

Yabadop was now too focused on beating Dohyuk up. He didn’t care about the bracelet anymore. But that’s when he felt that Dohyuk’s body and mind had been destroyed. He didn’t know why, but Dohyuk was influenced by Yabadop’s Divine Power just like Giwon. Did he use up all his faith to use ‘Unbreakable’?

-You...

Yabadop was a god who fed on fear and desires. That was why he always drove people to their limits to sniff out their deepest desires. The desire that he smelled from Dohyuk was...

-Different.

It was beyond different. Yabadop had never seen such deep desire before. If he had a mouth, he would be drooling right now. He wanted to take it as his own. It was valuable enough to overcome all the loss he had incurred by beating him up.

-I can inflict endless pain.

Yabadop threated.

-You won’t like that. So in turn...

Like always, there needed a trade to take the deepest desire from a person. Yabadop was going to profit, but he still needed to offer something worthy enough for the value of the desires. He focused on his hand, and a small ornament began to form.

-We will trade.

“...”

Dohyuk then mumbled something.

-What?

Yabadop struck Dohyuk’s head and asked again.

“...Now.”

-You will trade?

“Now is... the time... to use...”

With the voice, Yabadop’s figure shook. It was the impact from the jump. Before Dohyuk spoke, Giwon had jumped down from the top. He hung onto the figure’s neck as the storm raged at him.

<<Divine Power: Unbreakable>>

With his mind intact, Giwon could buy at least a few seconds. And it wasn’t only Giwon who could use Divine Power.

Dohyuk gritted his teeth and overcame the pain in his bones and joints to walk up. He knew, from Giwon’s past experience and what happened just now, that Yabadop would leverage his Divine Power to offer a ‘trade’. That’s why Dohyuk withstood the Divine Power without using his.

“You can’t kill me...”

Dohyuk couldn’t stand any longer and fell, but it was enough. Just one step, and the slight second that Giwon had bought was enough for Dohyuk to reach out and place his hand on the necklace, the most valuable item that Yabadop took out to offer to trade with Dohyuk.

“Digest.”
