Chapter 20: 20 Overnight Stay

Chapter Twenty

After finishing the late-night snack, Su Wan said, "Xiaoshan, little Ling, you can sleep at my place."

"This, wouldn't that be too much trouble?" Long Xiaoshan said hesitantly.

"What's the trouble? Do you really expect little Ling to sleep in the park? Stop dithering, my home still has a guest room for you to sleep in, and little Ling can sleep with me in my room," Su Wan said.

"Then thank you," Long Xiaoshan replied.

Su Wan was right, he didn't mind sleeping in the park himself, but there was no need for little Ling to endure the same for the sake of his so-called pride.

Seeing Long Xiaoshan agree, Su Wan smiled slightly and said, "Let's go."

The three of them returned to Happiness Community.

Su Wan's home was on the fifth floor of Building #7, a two-bedroom suite. As soon as they walked in, a faint fragrance filled the air. The decoration of the room was simple and elegant, mostly in white, but many details revealed the ingenuity of the lady of the house.

Long Xiaoshan glanced around, there were no traces of a man, it seemed that Su Wan lived here alone.

Logically, given her age, beauty, and career success, it was impossible for Su Wan not to have a boyfriend.

Su Wan went into the master bedroom and rummaged for a bit, bringing out a quilt, and then handed an unopened black POLO shirt and a new towel and toothbrush to Long Xiaoshan: "Xiaoshan, you go wash up. I see you haven't brought any clothes, this was bought for my dad, you can make do with it for now."

"No worries, I'll just scrub the clothes I'm wearing and that will be fine," Long Xiaoshan quickly refused.

"Just take it when I give it to you, it's not like it's something valuable." Su Wan stuffed the clothes into Long Xiaoshan's arms, holding the quilt as she went to the guest room, "You hurry to wash up, I will help you make the bed in the meantime."

Scratching his head, Long Xiaoshan took the clothes and entered the bathroom next to the living room.

Long Xiaoshan turned on the cold water for a shower and checked his wounds. He had three knife wounds, all incurred at the Grand Tycoon Hotel. They were quickly bandaged at the police station and had already scabbed over. He was quite satisfied with his body's recovery power.

If it weren't for the abnormal recovery power he gained after practicing "The Art of Immortality," he would have been beaten to death in prison a long time ago.

After the shower, Long Xiaoshan hesitated before finally changing into the POLO shirt Su Wan had given him. The shirt was a bit short, but fortunately, Long Xiaoshan was rather slim, so he could just about fit into it.

When Long Xiaoshan came out of the bathroom, Su Wan took little Ling to take her shower.

Long Xiaoshan entered the guest room where the bed had been made. The night had grown late, and sitting on this unfamiliar yet clean bed, Long Xiaoshan felt no sleepiness. He closed the door and pulled out the Jade Purifying Bottle to examine it further.

Earlier, when he had driven away those thugs and saved Su Wan, some silver specks had appeared once more, similar to those he witnessed at the Grand Tycoon Hotel. This time, however, there were far fewer specks, and they vanished quickly.

This led him to suspect what those specks might be.

He shook the bottle. Indeed, there seemed to be some liquid moving inside, and it was clearer than before.

After thinking for a moment, he took a cup from the table and inverted the Jade Purifying Bottle, aligning its mouth with the cup. After a good while, under Long Xiaoshan's expectant gaze,

a silver droplet emerged from the mouth of the bottle and, 'plop,' it dropped into the cup, rolling around nimbly, just like a bead of water on a lotus leaf, exhibiting a peculiar agility.

He was certain that when he first had picked up the bottle, there had been absolutely nothing inside.

So where did this silver droplet come from? Could it be related to those silver specks that had appeared?

Long Xiaoshan stared at the cup for a long time but couldn't unravel any mysteries. He simply felt that this liquid was no ordinary substance. He boldly fetched a glass of water from the living room and poured it into the cup with the silver liquid. Soon the silver liquid blended into the water, causing the ordinary glass of water to emit a faint silver glow. It wasn't noticeable under the light, but the water clearly glowed when he turned off the light.

Long Xiaoshan held the glass of water, hesitant for a long time, not daring to taste it easily. Who knew what strangeness this water contained? The bottle itself was odd enough, and if something went wrong, the risk wouldn't be worth it.

Suddenly, there was the sound of a door opening from the entrance.

Hearing someone unlock the door, Long Xiaoshan quickly, with bright eyes and swift hands, poured the glowing water into a pot of orchids on the windowsill.

Little Ling came in and remarked with the lights turned off, "Brother, you're asleep?"

"Ah, pretty much. It's late, little Ling, you should rest too," Long Xiaoshan said.

"Alright, brother, then you sleep too, goodnight," little Ling said as she walked out.

Long Xiaoshan got up and studied the pot of orchids he had watered for over ten minutes, but there was no sign of anything happening. He felt a bit discouraged, was this water really of no use?

So much had happened that day.

Long Xiaoshan also felt quite worn out. After meditating briefly, he lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

The next day, in a groggy state, Long Xiaoshan thought he smelled a fragrance, then heard little Ling's crisp voice outside the door.

"Brother, wake up, the sun is already shining on your butt!"

He shook his head, sat up from the bed, and called out, "Alright, I'm up."

Little Ling opened the door and entered. First, she sniffed and asked, "Brother, why does your room smell so nice?"

Suddenly, little Ling's eyes widened, and she pointed at the windowsill, exclaiming, "Wow, what beautiful orchids!"

Long Xiaoshan quickly turned his gaze to the windowsill as well, and his breath caught sharply. There, bathed in the morning light, a pot of orchids was in dazzling bloom, its leaves vibrant green as luscious jade, and the golden blossoms trembled on their stems like butterflies, stunningly enchanting.
