Chapter 52: Legendary Awakening, New Innate Talent

"Damn it! I told you that we can't find your daughter! She must have run away with someone. This isn't that common in this area, humph!"

"P-Please don't say that, officer. This is simply not true. My d-daughter is just fifteen years old and she always comes back from school on time. How can she run away like that? S- Someone surely abducted her."

"We are trying! Stop annoying us and we might just be able to do our job!"

Aleron watched this scene at the police station's building entrance just as he appeared outside of the station.

"B-But, it's been two days and I've never s-seen you -"

"Are you saying we don't work?! Bastard! Hey, constable, throw him out. If he comes out again, then remove his daughter's missing case."

'That pig doesn't look like a good guy,' Aleron thought as he looked at the police officer. Aleron arrived before the duo with the young boy in his arms and spoke, "Office, a murder just occurred in your area. This boy's mother was killed by three men in dark gold robes."

Instantly, the officer's eyes shook, but he maintained his composure and turned to Aleron with a frown, "What? When?"

"Just a minute ago," Aleron indifferently said. "Those three were trying to kidnap this boy, but I saved him."

'Pieces of trash...can't they do even a simple job properly?' thought the policeman while cursing.

The head officer of the station was in the cahoots all along. Otherwise, why would they broadly kill and kidnap someone?

"You," the police officer turned his head to the crying man and snorted, "go back and don't come back until we call you about your daughter. We are working."

Afterward, he turned to Aleron and nodded, "Let's go. Show us the place."

The protocols had to be followed, so he took a team of police officers and went to the house. 'Damn, who is she?' the head officer looked at Yueha standing outside the house and gulped as he looked at her otherworldly beauty while he tucked away his bulging belly.

'Yue, suppress your physical aura and make it seem like Legendary-rank,' Aleron transmitted his voice to Yueha's ears.

'Understood.'

Aleron felt something was wrong with the police officer. It was just his gut feeling, but it was strong.

The police entered the house to investigate while the head officer saw Aleron walking towards Yueha and understood that they were together.

He walked towards them and professionally asked in a somber tone as he looked at the kid that Aleron put inside a floating magic bubble for calmness and recovery, "So how did you find him?"

"Saw him getting chased by the three men from the alley's gap and rushed to help," Aleron plainly answered.

'So he doesn't what happened here...maybe the boy said about this mother dying and showed him the house before passing out?'

"I see...and what about you, miss? Were you present?"

"Is that important?" Aleron calmly spoke, but he wasn't calm internally.

Suddenly, one of the officers ran out of the house and said, "Sir, we didn't see any traces of magic or murder in the house. Either someone was swift enough to erase everything or nothing happened."

"Young man, how do you know his mother died here?" the head police officer asked with a frown.

"I checked his memories," Aleron coldly said. "Those three men killed his mother in front of him and were planning to capture him."

'Checked his memories?!' the head police officer suddenly felt cold sweat forming in his back before he inspected Aleron without probing into him and just by measuring his outer aura.

Soon, he felt like slapping Aleron. 'This bastard is just Epic-rank. How dare he say he read the memories?'

His heart calmed down when he realized that this wasn't some hidden Exceed-rank powerhouse with an awakened soul or a Primeval-rank powerhouse.

"How did you read his memories?" the head police officer asked with narrowed eyes.

"I have an artifact that can do that," Aleron replied with a frown. "And this boy also knows because he witnessed it himself!"

'I should salvage the situation instead of making things worse. As for this young man...I'll have to deal with him later.'

"Alright, leave the boy at the station. We'll send him to the hospital and do further investigation," the head police officer said with a smile and stretched his hand at Aleron, "Thank you for timely help in saving the kid."

"You can go now. Leave the rest to us."

The head police officer waved his hand as he attached a Mana string to the magic bubble and took the boy with him as other police officers left with him.

Aleron's fist clenched. His guts were churning as he felt more and more that something was wrong.

A hint of strange crimson glow appeared in his eyes as if responding to his state of mind and the intuition he was having.

"Master," Yueha spoke as her eyes showed some surprise upon sensing a strange aura from Aleron.

"A father was also asking them to look for his daughter, and now this..." Aleron mumbled. "I don't like this."

"Master, you are going through Legendary Awakening..."

Only now did Aleron realize that a strange type of mysterious power was streaming in him before going to his Source space and then establishing into his eyes.
