Chapter 48: Journey in The Carriage
Chapter 48: Journey in The Carriage
"No, we are not going with teleport," Aleron vehemently shook his head, his expression almost like a pout. "We are going by the road, no matter how many days it takes. I want to look at this world more closely and see how it is."
"Ah, I remember! Alright, I got an idea then," Rias grinned.
Yueha nodded. 'I am also curious.'
She had memories of her learning and cultivating her powers at some mountains, fighting monsters, and such, but she didn't have memories of any person in her mind.
However, she was a powerhouse with an elevated existence, and her soul gave her a clear understanding that she was created with some kind of otherworldly power.
She had a heart, she had feelings, with one of them being loyal to Aleron because she was living and experiencing life solely because of him.
...
At the Dawnstone mountain's base, a luxurious magic carriage that looked normal-sized from the outside, but had a room-sized space inside stood at the city's gate.
Aleron, Rias, and Yueha sat inside the carriage before it rode off on the roads.
Inside, Rias, Aleron, and Yueha sat on the couches. Yueha sat beside Aleron, while Rias sat in front of the duo with a table between them.
Rias waved her hand and put a map on the table.
"We are here at the moment. The distance to Lightdusk Academy is 3466 kilometers, so we obviously won't go in this carriage all the way. We'll have to take Airships, but don't worry," Rias smiled and continued.
"I'll show you the best things, and make sure you enjoy this journey."
Aleron's eyes sparkled, "Nice. Add in some forbidden zones or some secret places to route if there are any."
"Forbidden zones?" Rias was speechless.
Aleron grinned and nodded, "Yeah, like some places that are very dangerous because of strange magic or something."
'I got Magilore's unique trait and my talent, so no zones are forbidden or secrets for me because all the phenomena of magic exist for me to devour them, haha.'
Aleron really wanted to go to some mysterious places like he had read in those books.
"Well, there are two prominent secret danger zones on our route, but if I have to say a truly forbidden one...then there's one that nobody is allowed to go," Rias said as she remembered the famous forbidden zone.
"Oh? A truly forbidden one, eh?"
Yueha raised her eyebrows, picking up her ears as she also got curious.
"Mhmm, this forbidden zone is actually said to be restricted by the goddess herself, and even then, there are some ancient guards that prevent people from going there."
"You remember the Beast Emperor of 500 years ago?"
Aleron quickly nodded, curious about the background of this place.
"That Beast Emperor actually wanted to go there. The goddess can't directly interfere in our affairs, but Lightdusk Academy and the empires fought and beat them back."
"According to the Central Goddess Church's holy texts, the goddess had sealed something very dangerous there that if it was broken, it would destroy the whole world."
"Alright!" Aleron slapped his thigh. "We will go there."
"....."
Yueha looked at Aleron and merrily chuckled at his expression. 'Master Aleron is so cute when he is excited.'
Meanwhile, Rias was speechless. "I just told you, we can't go there."
"Hehe, don't worry. We will go there, but not anytime soon. I'll just have to get more powerful and learn more about this world before going there."
"As powerful as Goddess?" Rias rolled her eyes.
"Nah," Aleron shook his head and grinned. "More powerful than other."
Rias laughed. "You can't be serious."
"Why?" Aleron blinked. "I don't know your goddess, I don't know this world. But I know that I'll get more powerful than her."
"I don't know when or how, I just know I will, as long as I live," Aleron grinned.
Rias wryly smiled, "I've seen people who strive to reach their goal and hold determined with the intention to reach there by giving their all, but you...you are speaking with such confidence as if it's just a matter of time."
"What to say?" Aleron shrugged and grinned. "It is indeed just a matter of time."
Suddenly, Aleron remembered about this plan and said, "Anyway, I'll be going away for a bit. Don't get shocked or panic."
"What do you mean?" Rias asked with confusion, but before she could finish her question, Aleron vanished from his spot with a faint ripple of circular energy waves that briefly appeared behind him.
"Don't worry," Yueha said with a nod.
Rias nodded with a wry smile. "So...Miss Yueha, where are you from?"
Yueha shook her head. "I don't have any memories. You can say that Master Aleron gave me this life from when I was nothing and I exist because of him."
Rias was startled. 'He saved her and she started serving him....Maybe he saved her when she was at her lowest and had nothing.'
'Wait, she is a Primeval-rank powerhouse. If Ale saved her when she was nothing, then how did she become this powerful fast while Ale is just Epic-rank?'
Rias's head felt like it would explode if she tried to think more about this, so she stopped.
'Whatever.'
"By the way, how do you store mana inside you?" Yueha asked as she controlled Mana on her palm. "I am able to control Mana from the atmosphere, but I don't have magic power."
"What?!" Rias was dumbfounded.
Yueha waved her hand as an orb of Spirit Qi appeared on her palm, "This faint red-orange aura is Spirit Qi. I use this for my techniques."
Rias was shocked and amazed, 'I've never seen this kind of energy, but it also feels so powerful...it's giving me the same pressure as a primeval-rank powerhouse's potent mana.' "How do you cultivate this Spirit Qi energy?" Rias asked while she also created an orb of Mana. "For us, we have an Arcane source in us composed of an orb and a pool." "Spirit Qi is correlated to my body," Yueha smiled. "In my body, there's an ethereal place called Origin Source where we store the Qi Sea and Qi Core."
"Oh...sounds similar to the Source space where the sources of our powers take root," Rias nodded with a smile.
Yueha nodded, "Yes, but unlike how you store Mana, there are meridians in my body. I absorb spirit energy from spirit-energy-based resources through these meridians to strengthen my
Qi core and expand my Qi Sea."
"Ohh, interesting," Rias was amazed.
"We can give special power to our Qi based on the cultivation method we practice," Yueha smiled as the Qi orb on her palm turned dark blue frosty, causing the temperature to drop
several degrees.
Yueha absorbed the orb back swiftly since it would spell trouble otherwise.
"This world is filled with magic, but from my knowledge, it was supposed to be filled with spirit energy," Yueha wryly smiled. "So I don't know if there are resources based on Spirit Qi
here that can let me cultivate."
"Hmm, how about this?" Rias took out an SSS-grade Magic Stone.
Yueha looked at the Magic Stone and her eyes widened, "There's an abundance of spirit qi inside! That too of a pure quality!"
"Really?!" Rias's eyes sparkled. "I knew that Magic Stones were not made of pure magic,
haha."
"Mhmm, I can sense Mana too," Yueha nodded. "But it's strange. It's like both Spirit Qi and
Mana are combined in pure form."
"Maybe that's why Magic Stones have the power to turn its energy into anything," Rias smiled and infused fire energy inside after consuming some Mana.
The Magic Stone completely turned into a Fire Stone with fire-attributed energy. "Spirit Qi disappeared," Yueha nodded. "It turned into Fire energy. It is the same as when I make fire energy with Spirit Qi."
'So the end result of transforming an energy into an elemental attribute is the same, though its minor aspects and further empowerment depend on the user's mastery...interesting,' Yueha's eyes shone.
"You give it a try," Rias gave an SSS-grade Magic stone to Yueha before weakly smiling. "By the way, these stones are very important, so don't mistakenly break them by infusing too
much power."
"You just have to infuse a tiny bit of your affiliated energy to transform the Magic Stone." Yueha grabbed the stone and infused a bit of her Frost Qi.
In the next second, the Magic Stone transformed into an Ice Stone, filled with ice energy!
Suddenly, Aleron arrived in the carriage out of nowhere beside Yueha and exclaimed upon
seeing the sparkling icy stone.
"Cool!"
Pun intended.
Aleron rubbed his arms, "It's freezing even though I just reached the peak of Epic rank. What
is this stone?"
Aleron went to the necropolis to eat those epic-rank pills to increase his physical and magic
stats to the peak of Epic-rank, making them all reach 5000, but this ice stone was still so cold. He swiftly created a coating of Magilore around his body, nullifying the cold with constant
minor consumption of Magilore.
"It's an Ice Stone turned from a Magic Stone," Rias said with a chuckle.
Yueha gave the orb to Rias as it floated towards her, "Put it away." Afterward, Yueha and Rias told Aleron about their discoveries and the trio soon started
discussing more about it.
After an hour of riding the carriage, they were passing through a forest road. It was a rather dangerous area, but Rias purposefully chose this route since Aleron wanted to fight.
And the fight arrived sooner than expected because a bunch of powerful monstrous auras soon approached the carriage.
