Chapter 22: Do It
Chapter 22: Do It
After arriving at the city, Aleron called Rias using a comm card.
[Aleron: Miss Rias, I have arrived in the city. Where do we meet up?]
[Rias: Please come to the Duke Palace if you don't mind.]
[Aleron: Alright. We'll be there.]
"That's our target," Aleron pointed at the biggest building-a majestic palace over a hundred meters tall in the city in the shape of the letter 'A'.
"But I want to look at this city, so let's walk," Aleron grinned as he looked at the shops and people.
However, it wasn't long before he walked past a special big alley and his face fell.
*Clank, clank...clank, clank...*
The alley's entrance point had a big board that read [Beastfolk Slave Trade]
Aleron saw a native intelligent race of this world aside from humans for the first time, but...it was not in a good picture.
Those people looked just like humans, with human skin tone and physique, except that they had some additional features.
Cat-beastfolk who had cat ears and tails with nimble physiques, cow-beastfolk with horns, long flappy ears, a tail, and strong limbs.
Wolf-beastfolk, ox-beastfolk, bunny-beastfolk....
They were imprisoned inside small iron prisons, one in each.
"Why are those beastfolks treated as slaves?" Aleron muttered.
A passer middle-aged man with a few strands of hair on his head was about to enter the alley when he heard Aleron. He paused and laughed before opening his shit-filled mouth.
"Young man, you lack some knowledge in history. Beastfolks are a cursed race. The Beastfolk Empire Lyran from the Northern Star Continent attacked us five hundred years ago. Many of them settled here after the war, unable to go back due to the harsh sea that separated Northern Star Continent "
"A hundred years ago, Nightwing Empire declared all Beastfolk as slaves and those who aid them would be considered an enemy of humans."
"Understand?" the middle-aged man patted Aleron's shoulder before leaving.
Darzax created an invisible barrier around them to prevent their voice from leaking after the middle-aged man left.
On the other hand, Aleron looked in the alley, his emotions wacky because he didn't like what he was witnessing.
Darzax and Riki didn't say anything and just silently stood behind him.
"Nooooo!!"
Aleron suddenly heard a scream and saw a little girl looking like a fourteen-year-old with white flurry wolf ears and tail getting dragged out from a door by a tall muscular man.
"What did that little girl do? And others too?" Aleron's face was cramped, his expression sad. "Why can't they leave peacefully with others?"
Sure, many people died because of him in Falran Capital. Many innocent people. But many of them were living as Undeads while those who were dead had their souls freed by Darzax as they went into the cycle of the cosmos to live their second life somewhere else.
He felt sad that those innocent' lives were lost, but he had no anger towards himself or Darzax because of it. He had no regrets.
If he could change his outcome previously by delaying and commanding Darzax to escape before his torture, he would do it. The capital would've been saved.
But what happened...already happened. There was no changing it.
Death was an escape, at least to Aleron. He only accepted it in his previous because he had no other choice in the end.
But these beastfolks couldn't even accept death to escape from their living hell. The collars controlled them, and they lived a life of humiliation and pain as witnessed by Aleron at the moment.
He could imagine the fate of that 14-year-old young beastfolk girl, but he didn't want that to happen in reality.
"What do you want to do, Boss?" Riki placidly asked as a black sheath appeared at his waist, hiding a katana that was ready to drink blood.
Aleron took a calm and deep breath as his eyes turned clear, "No fighting. We'll resolve this fast without causing a ruckus and letting anyone notice us."
"Dax, do you still have the Magic Stones we found from the Royal family's treasure room?" Aleron asked as he turned to Darzax.
"Those B-grade Magic Stones? I do have them."
"Riki, crush them to make them smaller and rain them on this alley," Aleron said.
"Alright," Riki nodded as he stretched his hand towards Darzax while a black circular pool appeared on his palm.
Darzax started dumping those B-grade Magic Stones numbering around 5000 into Riki's Shadow Pocket, a storage made of shadow energy.
"Dax, you will use your Shadow Drift to snatch all Beastfolks at once into your Shadow Pocket after Riki rains the Magic Stones."
"There are 46 Beastfolks total, half of them are in the alley and the other half are in the rooms on both sides," Darzax said as his eyes glinted, scanning everything.
"Get them all and send them to the Secret Realm," Aleron said as he turned his head back to the alley. "I'll open the Demiplane's door into your Shadow Pocket, so you can directly send
them there."
"Boss, I want to ask you something before we begin," Riki suddenly said, a weird smile hanging on his lips.
"What?" Aleron raised his eyebrows.
"Will you do this every time you encounter Beastfolk slaves?"
"Yes," Aleron nodded with a serious expression, "And I will erase the slave system from this continent. I know there are many slaves and people suffering, and I can't help everywhere, but I will not ignore things I don't like."
"I won't just let it happen in front of me if I can change it," Aleron clenched his fist as he looked at the faces of those beastfolks. "Since I have the power to change their fate, then their
fate shall change!"
"They can live in Necropolis and work for their living peacefully while progressing. This will also help us. It's a win-win situation because I have power, resources, and space," Aleron narrowed his eyes.
'I couldn't change my fate in my previous life, but I can do it in this life and do much more!'
Aleron's eyes fierily burned.
"Do it."
