Chapter 70: Gudako: The Fireworks is me?!
Chapter 70: Gudako: The Fireworks is me?!
SUPPORT ME
Failure...
Kiritsugu watched the video transmitted from Waver, taking a drag of his cigarette, trying to stimulate his brain cells. However, even with that, he couldn't figure out how to deal with Tom. Everything felt so unreal, especially since he had just heard that Gudako had summoned a Servant named Arash and was ecstatic about it. After all, Arash was one of the greatest heroes of Persia and the origin of the Archer class. Summoning such a Servant should have guaranteed victory.
But, but... he never expected that before he could even rejoice, Gudako would command Arash to self-destruct using Command Seals. He couldn't comprehend Gudako's simple act of willingly sacrificing such a powerful top-tier Servant. And the most outrageous, the most difficult fact for him to accept was this:
Even with the self-destruct attack of this top-tier Servant, combined with the reinforcement of Command Seals, they still couldn't defeat the "Schrdinger's Cat." He still couldn't figure out how to overcome that cat. Let alone defeat it, they couldn't even land a single blow. That enigmatic cat somehow absorbed the energy from Arash's self-destruction, leaving itself completely unharmed, as if it were just a blown-up balloon.
Afterward, "Schrdinger" did something behind "Schrdinger's Cat," returning the Noble Phantasm that Arash had activated, directly to Gudako and Mashu, turning these two girls into fireworks in the sky.
"Operation Plan A, Operation Plan B, complete failures..." Kiritsugu muttered to himself, looking at the RPG in his hand.
His initial plan was to call the police first, disturb the Master of "Schrdinger" who might be present in that house. When that Master came out and used magic to dispel the police, he would fire the RPG at his face. But reality didn't unfold as he expected. Instead, "Schrdinger" and "Schrdinger's Cat" made a hasty retreat in a bizarre manner.
From start to finish, the Master of "Schrdinger" never appeared. So there were only two possibilities: either the Master of "Schrdinger" was extremely cautious and didn't accompany the already exposed Servant, instead hiding alone in a separate location, or the Master of "Schrdinger" was still in some corner of the house, merely leading the police away with the Servant.
To confirm whether the Master of "Schrdinger" was still inside the house, Kiritsugu had Waver track "Schrdinger." When he returned to the castle, he took his sniper handgun and searched the house. Apart from faint traces of lingering spirits that were somewhat distant, he found no signs of the Master.
He then went back and persuaded Gudako to confront "Schrdinger" and "Schrdinger's Cat." Although the second plan was somewhat reckless, it wasn't Kiritsugu who would engage in direct combat, so the cost-benefit ratio was high. However, he secretly followed along and brought the RPG just in case they discovered the whereabouts of "Schrdinger's" Master, intending to use it to launch a surprise attack, regardless of its effectiveness.
But their plan failed when Gudako was blasted away by her own Servant's Noble Phantasm. However, compared to that, Kiritsugu found it even more peculiar that Gudako and Mashu survived within that Noble Phantasm. Perhaps it was due to the protection of the Servant named Mashu. In any case, they managed to survive.

Returning to the castle, Kiritsugu placed the RPG in a corner and saw Gudako and the others in the hall. It was evident that Gudako's expression was grim. When Kiritsugu entered, Gudako glanced at him briefly before continuing to recount her experience to the listener, Eri.
In this Singularity, she summoned a Servant she "liked" for the first time and obtained ammunition named "Merlin," a version of Chen Gong. The joy of these two accomplishments intertwined, bringing Gudako even more delight. She should have experienced a dream-like fireworks display, but why did it turn out like this? She, the sole Master of Chaldea, the "Savior" destined to end Gaia, had unexpectedly encountered a setback. The one who launched fireworks had become the fireworks herself?!
How could she accept such a thing?
After finishing her statement about turning into fireworks, Gudako looked around and couldn't bear it any longer. She slammed the table and stood up abruptly. Although she glanced around, the only intact listeners at that moment were Eri and Kiritsugu, who had just entered.
Merlin had just awakened and was beaten up by Fou, so even though he was still sitting in his chair, he had a miserable expression. Even a strong bow could reach its limit, let alone Merlin, this "weak bow"?
As for Mashu... she even had two band-aids stuck on her buttocks, so she couldn't be considered completely unscathed. Looking at the listeners attentively listening to her, Gudako, with a serious expression, put on a fake mustache under her nose and admonished, "This is a disgrace, a disgrace to our entire group. I hope everyone present will keep it in mind and prevent such a shameful incident from happening again."
Mashu glanced at Gudako sideways, and a drop of sweat rolled down her forehead. She looked at Gudako with a subtly questioning gaze. "A collective disgrace," quite an impressive way of shifting blame. It was clear that the problem arose solely from Gudako's actions, yet she conveniently shifted the blame onto the collective. At least Mashu didn't consider herself so shameless.
"I've decided to activate the support system from now on!"
Upon hearing Gudako's words, Kiritsugu raised an eyebrow slightly, not quite understanding what Gudako meant by the support system. Was she referring to the summoning of allies from Chaldea, as she put it?
Hearing Gudako's statement, Mashu immediately interjected with a question, "Support system? But to decide who to call for support so quickly... isn't it a bit hasty?"
"No worries, I have someone readily available. It's already clear who will be our support!"
With that, Gudako casually let her gaze 'accidentally' sweep over Merlin.
