Chapter 5: (2/8)
Chapter 5: (2/8)
Jaane's father was making twenty-four (24) copper coins a day from his job. Jaane shook her head as she remembered that her father spoke about sending money to her if she wanted to buy magic equipment. After a thoughtful moment, Jaane decided not to buy anything and will send these two gold coins back to her parents. Jaane's parents have sacrificed too much for her, it is her time to sacrifice for them.
"Aren't you going to buy it?" A male voice came from behind Jaane and she could not recognize who it was. Jaane turned around and saw a handsome man wearing a high-quality white robe. He wore a pair of white gloves that had three Magical Ice Stones embedded on each glove. One Magical Stone granted a five percent mana reduction cost passive effect for all Novice and Intermediate spells. Six Magical Stones should be granted a total of thirty percent mana reduction cost. Thirty percent lower mana cost is the maximum those Magical Stones' passive effect could be granted. Even if there are ten Magical Stones embedded on the gloves, it would not exceed thirty percent of mana reduction cost for spell casting. From Jaane's observation, this man was not only an Ice Mage but a powerful one.
Jaane smiled and shook her head, "I was just browsing through the shop."
"Let me guess, are you an Earth Mage?"
"Yes, but I am still a student."
"Little Earth Mage, what is your name?"
"My name is Jaane, Jaane Almos."
"Nice to meet you Jaane, I'm Aber Hardy."
"Nice to meet you too, mister Hardy."
Aber was a little surprised because it seems like Jaane does not know who he is. Aber was the most powerful Student Master Mage of Flumen in the Student Mages' battle tournament of this year. He was the one that took out four team members of Student Master Mages of Lylnesle and gave them an ugly loss. Aber was just making small talk with Jaane but now he is interested in her. If Jaane is also a Student Mage, then she should have watched his battle ten days ago. Unless Jaane was also a Student Master Mage which explained why she couldn't watch his battle because she was busy preparing battle plans with her teammates. However, from Aber's observation of Jaane, she couldn't be older than nineteen years old. In his memory, only one nineteen years old Student Master Mage joined the battle tournament of this year and his name was Kain Almos. Almos...?
"Are you related to Kain Almos?"
"Oh no, we have the same last name but we are not related."
"Jaane, are you here by yourself?"
"No sir, I'm here with my friends. We have split up but will meet up again in thirty minutes."
"You don't have to call me sir, just call me Aber. I'm from Flumen city. I was born and raised here. Why don't I give you a tour around here?"
"Aber, I am not buying anything. I can tour around by myself, thank you for the offer."
At this time, a loud explosion occurred nearby. A female Wind Mage was blown away by the [Exploding Fireball] spell. The Wind Mage slowly got up on her feet while still holding a three years old girl in her arms. Approximately five hundred guards quickly surrounded her while a male Fire Mage slowly approached her and said, "Blood Mage, you and that Twin Soul evil child won't get out of here alive. However, if you tell me how to find the other Blood Mages then I will give you a quick death."
The Wind Mage coughed out a lot of blood, but she laughed and said, "I will show you the true power of a Blood Mage." After that, she put the girl down and said, "Little girl, do not be worried. I will protect you."
The female Blood Mage took out a Blood Ring and put it on her left middle finger. She activated [Infused Blood] and started chanting for [Blood Iron Spikes] while casting [Wind Strike] at the Fire Mage.
[Blood Iron Spikes], level 5 Blood spell. This spell will obtain twenty gallons from the caster's blood pool to create a floating ball that has a dark red color. It can physically protect a targeted individual by automatically shooting out iron spikes toward hostile subjects. The Blood Ball will fade away after it uses all the twenty gallons of blood.
The Fire Mage casted [Flame] to destroy the [Wind Strike] before it could reach him. The Blood Mage finished chanting and casted [Blood Iron Spikes] and a Blood Ball was formed. She gave the Blood Ball to the Twin Soul girl and said, "Hold this Blood Ball for three seconds so it can concede you. After that, it will be able to protect you from those guards while I take care of that Fire Mage." The girl listened and held the Blood Ball for three seconds. Three seconds later, the ball escaped from the girl's hands and began to repeatedly fly around the girl to protect her.
The Fire Mage casted [Fireball] five times toward the girl but it was reflected by [Warding Wind] casted by the Blood Mage. The Fire Mage casted [Flame Wall] in front of him to destroy the five Fireballs that were flying back toward his direction.
Thirty guards ran toward the girl wanting to kill her. Comprehended hostile subjects were approaching the conceded person, the Blood Ball shoots out numerous iron spikes that penetrated and granted the instant invitations for those thirty guards to go meet with their ancestors in the afterlife.
The Blood Mage asked, "Casted that kind of spell toward a little girl, aren't you ashamed of yourself?"
"Twin Soul children are evil, every single one of them deserved to die. I won't allow that child to become another Blood Mage in the future."
"Why are we evil? What have we done toward you or anyone you know?"
"You don't deserve the right to question me. As a member of the Red, I hereby announced your execution is a must."
The Fire Mage casted [Flaming Familiar] and commanded it to chase after the Blood Mage. The Blood Mage casted [Wind Walk] and she flew toward the Twin Soul girl to grab her. Fly was good at countering the Flaming Familiar, but the Blood Mage was afraid that the Familiar would switch its target from her toward the Twin Soul child. The Blood Ball can't protect the child from magical spells. That was why she grabbed the girl in an attempt to escape using the airway.
"Do you really think that I will let you escape by flying away? You have made a bad move." The Fire Mage had finished chanting for [Flaming Phoenix] and he immediately casted it. The Flaming Phoenix appeared and immediately flew toward the Blood Mage.
