Chapter 9
C9 – Team Rebirth
Bi……
Wang Xiao’s words instantly stirred up a commotion among the students in the private room.
“Is Wang Xiao clueless? Young Master Chen has already intervened to handle the situation. Once Tong Waner raises a toast, everything will be resolved. Why did he deliberately provoke this?”
“Exactly. Why didn’t he stand up for Tong Waner earlier? Why’s he putting on a show now?”
The students exchanged low murmurs, casting looks of disdain and revulsion toward Wang Xiao.
“Haha, Young Master Chen, you noticed that, right? It’s not that I’m disrespectful, but someone isn’t respecting me.”
Upon hearing Wang Xiao’s words, Big Brother Pig’s expression darkened as he turned to Chen Jie.
Chen Jie raised an eyebrow. He was familiar with Big Brother Pig. When Big Brother Pig was angry, he didn’t dare to intervene.
Swiveling his gaze, he coldly addressed Wang Xiao, “Kid, you’re the first person audacious enough to speak to me this way. Impressive!”
“You’ve misunderstood. I don’t have a penchant for insults. If you’re itching to hurl abuses, you could direct them at a pig instead!”
Wang Xiao shrugged and spoke with an air of nonchalance.
“You!” Big Brother Pig’s eyes widened upon hearing this. He despised being referred to as a pig the most. He erupted in a furious roar, “Go, break one of his legs! Let’s see if he’ll still dare to be so arrogant.”
The two lackeys behind him clenched their fists upon hearing the command and lunged at Wang Xiao.
The onlookers among the students, witnessing this scene, cast pitying gazes at Wang Xiao. They could already envision the gruesome image of Wang Xiao being incapacitated.
“You’re giving yourself too much credit!”
Observing this, Wang Xiao let out a disdainful snort. Swiftly, he pivoted on his feet and vanished from his initial position.
As he reappeared, he was right in front of his two lackeys. In one fluid motion, he extended his right hand.
The air was filled with the distinct sound of two resounding slaps. The two henchmen were sent hurtling through the air, crashing into the wall of the private room.
The private room descended into utter silence. All those who witnessed this jaw-dropping spectacle had their eyes wide as saucers and their mouths agape, as if they could fit goose eggs inside.
Whoosh…
After a brief moment, the private room buzzed with commotion.
“Wow, Wang Xiao is incredibly skilled!”
“Wang Xiao, you actually have martial arts prowess?”
Even Big Brother Pig’s eyes widened in astonishment as he stared at Wang Xiao. “How… how is this even possible?”
“I’m not here to watch your performance. Tell me who ordered this.”
Wang Xiao slowly approached Big Brother Pig and addressed him directly.
“What performance? Kid, I don’t get what you’re talking about.”
Upon hearing Wang Xiao’s words, Big Brother Pig’s heart raced. Did he somehow find out about his involvement with Chen Jie?
“If you won’t spill the beans, don’t blame me then.”
Observing Big Brother Pig’s unwillingness to confess, Wang Xiao shook his head and snorted coldly.
“Kid, I’m the boss here. If you dare lay a finger on me, I can have you taken care of in an instant… Ah!”
Big Brother Pig initially intended to retort fiercely, but before he could finish, a sharp cry of pain escaped him.
To everyone’s surprise, Wang Xiao had twisted the fingers of his right hand. Accompanied by a resounding ‘crack,’ his fingers snapped, and a searing agony surged through his arm.
“Can you talk now?”
Gazing at Big Brother Pig’s pallid face drenched in cold sweat, Wang Xiao uttered in an unemotional tone.
Witnessing Wang Xiao’s unrelenting methods for the first time, the surrounding students gulped and regarded him with newfound respect.
Despite the pain, Big Brother Pig clenched his teeth and persisted, as if he’d sooner perish than reveal anything.
“He’s quite determined. Let’s continue then.”
Wang Xiao’s cold smile emerged. He maneuvered his hands around Big Brother Pig’s body, methodically dislocating one joint after another. This time, there was no pause; he continued relentlessly, dislocating half of Big Brother Pig’s joints in a single stretch.
Piercing shrieks reverberated within the private room.
“It was Chen Jie. He gave me five thousand yuan. He instructed me to stage this act for the girl.”
At that moment, Wang Xiao ceased his actions. Before he could utter a word, Big Brother Pig, fear etched across his face, quickly spoke. His voice quavered, and his body trembled, as if subjected to unspeakable torment.
To him, the young man before him was a demon, a demon straight from the depths of hell!
These words ignited a commotion in the private room!
“What, is it Chen Jie?”
“What a wicked scheme. If Wang Xiao didn’t have some tricks up his sleeve, Chen Jie might have succeeded…”
These students weren’t naive. They swiftly grasped Chen Jie’s ulterior motive. Looking at Chen Jie, their eyes filled with disdain and disgust.
Employing such a despicable tactic to win over a girl, it truly was a disgraceful move.
They were nearly deceived by Chen Jie’s ploy!
It was a disaster! When he heard Big Brother Pig betray him, Chen Jie’s complexion turned ashen, and he slumped to the ground.
“Hmph, so you’re just another softie!”
Observing Big Brother Pig’s reaction, Wang Xiao sneered, discarding him like a pile of mud. He shifted his attention to Chen Jie.
“Wang Xiao, what, what do you want?”
Chen Jie’s face drained of color when he noticed Wang Xiao’s gaze on him. Fear flickered in his eyes. He had witnessed Wang Xiao coolly disassembling all of Big Brother Pig’s joints.
Pa…
A sharp slap resounded through the air.
Wang Xiao extended his hand and delivered a resounding slap to Chen Jie’s face. Then, in a frigid tone, he remarked, “Consider this slap from Tong Waner’s boyfriend. I don’t even care if you’re a lowlife like you.”
With that said, he turned to Tong Waner and stated, “Waner, it’s about time. Let’s go!”
“Okay!”
Tong Waner nodded compliantly and hastened her steps toward Wang Xiao.
From the moment Big Brother Pig appeared until he playfully teased her, Tong Waner had remained silent. Her captivating gaze had remained fixed on Wang Xiao.
She didn’t even spare a glance for Chen Jie as she walked past him.
“Tong Waner, I…” A sharp pang of pain crossed his face, yet Tong Waner’s dismissal hurt Chen Jie even more. He yearned to explain himself.
However, Tong Waner didn’t afford him the opportunity. Clutching onto Wang Xiao’s hand, she departed.
“Loathsome individual, I no longer wish to remain here.”
The other students also snubbed Chen Jie with disdainful looks and exited one after the other. In the end, only Zhang San and his companions lingered in the private room.
“Wang Xiao, damn it, I won’t just let this slide!” Chen Jie clenched his fists and ground his teeth, his voice roaring with intensity.
Following this incident, his reputation in the class plummeted. This was supposed to be the final class gathering in high school, yet it concluded with such a scene. How could he not feel furious!
Within a particular mountain range in Jiangnan Province, shrubbery proliferated, and human presence was sparse.
Within a secluded valley nestled in the mountain range, dark silhouettes were in motion. These shadows exuded an aura of lethal intent, clearly the residue of recent killings.
Masked and unknown to each other, these figures constituted members of the same organization.
“The mission to assassinate the Tong Family’s daughter in Forest City has taken a twist. Two assassins of bronze rank have been neutralized.”
In the present instance, a masked individual atop a precipitous cliff within the valley addressed the assassins of the Rebirth Camp. His voice, gruff and strained, conveyed a message of change.
Whoosh…
With these words, a commotion erupted among the Rebirth Camp assassins in the valley.
“Two assassins at the bronze rank, even against a group of ten mercenaries, they’d be a breeze to handle. Isn’t Tong Family’s daughter guarded by just a ten-man team of seasoned soldiers?”
“Exactly. The attackers this time are supposedly the Li brothers. Given their prowess, even if they can’t eliminate Tong Family’s daughter, they should be able to escape unscathed.”
On the valley’s stone walls, the Rebirth Camp assassins exchanged puzzled glances.
“Here’s the image the Li brothers transmitted before they died. You’ll understand once you see it.”
The leader-like figure in a mask spoke again, producing a mini projector and displaying the image on the valley floor.
The image began with Handsome Man effortlessly catching the Li brothers’ daggers with his bare hands, completely unharmed.
Instantly, all the Rebirth Camp assassins from every direction fixated their gaze. Being seasoned assassins, they could readily discern that Wang Xiao was wearing a pair of Sky Silkworm Gloves.
“Heavens! It’s the fabled assassin secret technique: Tendon-dissecting Hand!”
Right at this moment, an observant assassin couldn’t help but exclaim at the sight of Wang Xiao deftly dislocating the Li brothers’ joints.
Hearing this, several of the Rebirth Camp assassins in the valley furrowed their brows, their gazes becoming intrigued.
Even though the image only depicted Wang Xiao, the enigmatic and unpredictable technique he employed to dislocate bones left them with no doubt that the Li brothers were undergoing immense agony.
The mention of the Tendon-dissecting Hand only intensified their inner turmoil.
Then, they witnessed Wang Xiao extracting a jade bottle and sprinkling powder onto the Li brothers’ bodies.
The Li brothers’ forms sizzled, dissolving into blood. Someone exclaimed in shock, “Is this… Corpse Dissolving Powder? Isn’t this the renowned ultimate technique of the world’s supreme assassin, the Ksitigarbha King?”
“I remember now. The Heavenly Silkworm Glove, Tendon-dissecting Hand, Corpse Powder. These seem to be Ksitigarbha King’s pinnacle techniques!”
At this juncture, another Rebirth Camp assassin’s voice resonated deeply.
These utterances instantaneously ignited a wave of commotion throughout the valley.
