Trials of the Abyss

Chapter 327: Moving Mountains

Chapter 327: Moving Mountains

Pang Jian's expression changed.

Columns of lightning converged the Thunder Pool from across the land like rushing waterfalls of light.

If the Thunderveil Godbeast were to project its divine consciousness here and control the lighting in the Thunder Pool, the consequences would be unimaginable!

Pang Jian glanced over at the Ice Race warriors, then at the retreating figures of Qi Qingsong and the others on the outskirts of the fragmented land.

"Everyone, evacuate from the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God!" he decisively ordered.

The others stared at him in confusion.

"A Thunder God we cannot contend with could soon inhabit the Thunder Pool!" Pang Jian revealed gravely. "Once its divine consciousness arrives, this fragmented land will become its divine domain, its Dao Field.

"Leave this place at once!"

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The Ice Race warriors flew off on their Spirit Avians, while Zhuang Yuyan, Qi Qingsong, and the others, retreated with their statues.

Pang Jian scanned his surroundings and retrieved the divine sense he had sent out.

Suddenly, he noticed a Rank Five Ice Race warrior fuse a fragment of the Divine Court into his body and refine the Lightning Dao Seal inside.

The warrior trembled as the cold energy within him intertwined with the Lightning Dao Seal, allowing him to comprehend its mysteries.

Li Yuanchen also cultivated lightning and ice.

The Ice Race can harmonize their innate ice-cold bloodline with lightning to enhance their cultivation...

Pang Jian's eyes brightened as he looked toward the Thunder Pool.

Whoosh!

A strand of golden divine sense shot into one of the holes riddling the Observer's dull yellow banner.

Seven Nether Abyss Spirit Bees appeared, using Pang Jian's divine sense as a marker.

The seven golden bees surrounded a dim yellow shadow, neither destroying its divine consciousness nor allowing it to escape.

"What are you trying to do?" the Observer asked faintly.

"Stop you from causing trouble."

Pang Jian suspected the Observer had orchestrated the draining of his divine sense back when he had been inspecting the Thunder Pool.

The Observer was a malicious being and certainly had not stayed behind with any good intentions.

"You don't trust my words?"

"I don't."

Pang Jian activated his green protective shield, which flickered with lightning, and descended toward the Thunder Pool, dodging the violent bolts of lightning streaking across the fragmented land as he did.

"Sir!"

"Pang Jian!"

The Ice Race warriors and Qi Qingsong cried out in alarm.

"Don't worry about me, I have a way to leave instantly if needed."

Pang Jian had already established a connection with a swarm of golden bees outside and was prepared to teleport the moment the situation turned dire.

Focusing his attention inward, he directed his spiritual power and divine sense toward the Heart of Winter at the bottom of his enormous ice pool.

The Nether Abyss Spirit Bees can't handle the divine consciousness of a Thunder God, but maybe you can.

This Heart of Winter had sealed the divine consciousness of countless invading Outer Gods over the years.

Pang Jian had refined three thousand strands of golden divine sense and the Bee Sovereign had birthed thousands of bees because of the Heart of Winter's ability.

A divine artifact of this magnitude could stand a chance against the Thunderveil Godbeast and perhaps even seal its divine consciousness.

I must have the Thunder Pool and that strange iron tree!

Pang Jian attempted to activate the Heart of Winter.

"Rise!"

His spiritual power, golden divine sense, and cold energy worked in unison.

Whoosh!

The crystalline Heart of Winter silently flew out from his spiritual sea and landed in the palm of his left hand.

"That's the Heart of Winter!" the Observer exclaimed. "The artifact the Frost Crystal God has searched for all these years, the Heart of Winter that the Ice Demon forged was buried in the Frozen Land! I knew it—I should've guessed!

"But how did you activate it? You're not of the Ice Race. How can you wield the Heart of Winter?"

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The fist-sized Heart of Winter floated above Pang Jian’s head, expanding as it released a piercingly cold, radiant light.

Pang Jian used his divine sense to form an ethereal, golden figure at the center of the Heart of Winter. The figure cradled the artifact's crystal core with both hands.

When the figure formed from divine sense touched the core, Pang Jian felt like he was touching the very essence of the Frozen Land.

He gently moved the crystal core within the Heart of Winter.

Boom! Boom!

The Frozen Land trembled in the distance like a godly force was nudging the land through space.

Elder Bing He had remained on the Frozen Land and feeling its movement, let out a terrified scream.

"The Frozen Land is moving!"

"Has the Frost Crystal God found us?

"The movement is remarkably stable—the glaciers aren't cracking, and the snow-capped peaks are still intact!"

The Ice Race still in the Frozen Land panicked when they felt the strange changes beneath their feet.

A golden bee gracefully landed beside Bing He.

"I'm the one moving the Frozen Land," the bee assured. "There's no need to be alarmed."

"Sir!" Bing He's face paled with shock.

At that moment, he realized that the Ice Race would never be able to stand against Pang Jian, even if they rallied their full strength.

A bolt of violent lightning in the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God streaked through the air, annihilating all the foreign race invaders along its path, before finally becoming the first to strike the silvery-white Thunder Pool in the pit.

Whoosh!

One of the thick bolts of lightning suspended in the sky vanished, and one of the many cracks in the Thunder Pool miraculously repaired itself.

A faint, almost imperceptible aura spread from the Thunder Pool. The activity had seemingly roused a majestic presence in some distant world.

That overwhelming presence attempted to lock onto the Thunder Pool hidden deep within the bizarre mist.

"The Thunderveil Godbeast has sensed the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God," the Observer muttered in a low voice. "I was right."

"Pang Jian, the Thunderveil Godbeast helped create the Divine Court of Thunder and played a role in the formation of the Thunder Pool. It can sense as soon as the Thunder Pool starts to gather lightning and repair itself."

Whoosh!

Another thick lightning bolt struck the Thunder Pool, vanishing from the sky as another crack in the pool mended.

Pang Jian hovered high in the sky, maintaining his composure as he dodged the rampaging lightning.

His golden figure within the Heart of Winter continued to manipulate the crystal core of Winter.

The Frozen Land drew closer!

"Our home!"

"Tha-that’s the Frozen Land!"

"It's flying toward the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God!"

The Ice Race warriors had since fled from the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God, only to see a landmass shrouded in faint cold mist soaring through the void.

"It's moving too fast! Get out of the way!"

"It's going to crash into us!"

The Ice Race warriors shrieked in horror as they watched the Frozen Land speeding straight toward them.

Their Frozen Land was about to collide with the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God!

Inside the Heart of Winter, Pang Jian's golden figure gently grasped the crystal core of Winter and commanded, "Stop!"

The Frozen Land abruptly halted.

"Merge."

Pang Jian grasped the crystal core and gently guided it like a god holding the world in his hands.

The Frozen Land slowly started to merge with the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God, cold mist and lightning intertwining as the two lands connected.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The sound of clashing Daos echoed through the air.

Cold energy and lightning clashed violently at the junction where the two fragmented lands met.

Then, gradually, they started to intertwine in a twisting blend of cold and lightning.

As the two fragmented lands fused, Pang Jian's golden figure sensed the presence of several extraordinary glaciers through Winter's crystal core.

"Rise!" he commanded.

Towering glaciers, ten thousand zhang high, rose from the Frozen Land and soared toward the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God.

One glacier, two glaciers, seven glaciers—

Nine towering glaciers hovered above the pit containing the Thunder Pool.

The nine glaciers slowly tilted, directing their smooth, gleaming surfaces toward the Thunder Pool in preparation for the Thunderveil Godbeast.

"What am I witnessing?" the Observer murmured in disbelief. "He moved the Frozen Land using the Heart of Winter and has even raised nine glaciers!

"He now has the power to contend with the Thunderveil Godbeast! The merging of the two fragmented lands has turned this place into his domain, his Dao Field!

The remaining members of the Thunder Race in the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God gazed in awe at the nine glaciers.

Pang Jian’s true body stood among the nine towering glaciers, appearing as small as an ant.

His size belied his power as the master of the nine glaciers, the ruler of the Frozen Land, and an invader of the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The faint cold mist of the Frozen Land spread into the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God and soon engulfed the area.

Thin bolts of lightning combined into larger bolts before vanishing into the Thunder Pool.

Before long, the thin cold mist of the Frozen Land replaced the lightning barrier that had once surrounded the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God.

The Ice Race warriors outside the fragmented land could now clearly see the nine glaciers surrounding Pang Jian.

"Bing Ying! Bing Yuan!" Sixth Elder Bing He called from the altar in the Frozen Land., "Our glaciers have been moved and our homeland has been uprooted! What should we do?"

Those in the Frozen Land had no idea what was happening and were overwhelmed with fear.

"Our Lord has uprooted our Frozen Land to hunt a God from the Thunder Abyss." Bing Ying gazed at Pang Jian for a long while. "The Heart of Winter holds such immense power in his hands!

"Bing Yuan, if he continues to protect us, the races worshiping the Frost Crystal God herself will never be a match for us!"

Bing Yuan sighed. "It's a pity he isn't one of the Ice Race."
