Chapter 94: What’s Your Relationship
Chapter 94
This side, someone had already secretly recorded a small video, and upon getting the news, more people came over. Almost every spot on the tenth floor was occupied.
Yet the empty seats near Pei Yuchen's surroundings were left untouched, as no one dared to sit close to him, forming an obvious contrast.
Ji Nian's eating manner wasn't unpleasant, but since she hadn't eaten meat for several days, her face now carried a satisfied expression as she enjoyed gnawing on the chicken leg.
Pei Yuchen chuckled, watching the woman devour her food without any care for her appearance, finding her behavior highly amusing.
"Is it delicious?" Pei Yuchen asked with a smile.
Ji Nian nodded honestly, saying, "Not bad." This was truly what eating a meal should be like, as the usual salads and boiled vegetables were simply a torture.
In the work groups of several company departments, many people had shared the video of the woman eating.
"Oh man, I've had chicken leg rice too, but why didn't it taste that good for me?"
"Oh my, I'm a Ji Nian fan! I want to go and meet her by chance!"
"Can we stay calm? There are so many celebrities in this company, and it's not like we've never seen them before."
"I really haven't seen them before... our departments are too far apart..."
"Haha, true, it's quite rare. Even though we're in the same building, we might only run into them in the elevator occasionally, but we work on different floors."
"Many celebrities tend to be haughty and wrapped up tightly, but Ji Nian truly doesn't treat us like outsiders."
After Ji Nian finished her meal and a few bites of cake, she drank the chicken soup, feeling satisfied.
Pei Yuchen couldn't help but want to laugh, as the woman seemed to find immense pleasure in these simple foods.
Ji Nian had been focused on eating, so she didn't pay much attention to her surroundings. Now that she looked around, she froze, realizing there were many more people in the restaurant.
"Mr. Pei... can we leave now..." Ji Nian felt embarrassed.
Pei Yuchen knew people were secretly taking photos, so he had already sent a message to the company's management personnel, asking them to handle it and prevent the leakage of the photos.
"Sure, didn't you say you had to go for rehearsal?" Pei Yuchen smiled.
Ji Nian stood up, not daring to look at the people around her, and said with an awkward laugh, "Yes, I should get going."
"Alright, I need to go upstairs too, let's go together." Pei Yuchen stood up and casually buttoned up his open suit jacket.
At this time, Peng He's side kept receiving notifications from the work group, and when he opened it, he was stunned.
"Yu Luobai... Ji Nian is at the company..." Peng He said.
Yu Luobai, who had been looking forward to the woman coming for rehearsal lately for some reason, perked up upon hearing she was at the company and asked, "She's here?"
"She must have been here for a while..." Peng He wore a confused expression and handed his phone over.
Yu Luobai took the phone and opened it, only to see the video of the woman eating ravenously, holding a chicken leg in one hand and a spoon in the other, with a leisurely demeanor.
He also saw the man sitting opposite her, and his gaze darkened as he murmured, "Yuchen ge?"
Last time in the elevator, he had seen the two of them together, and now they were having lunch as well, looking quite familiar with each other. For some reason, he felt a sense of displeasure in his heart.
*Knock knock*
Ji Nian knocked on the door, opening a small gap and poking her head in. Seeing everyone inside, she smiled and said, "I'm here!"
Upon hearing her voice, Yu Luobai immediately turned off the phone's screen, tossed it to Peng He, turned around, and his mood instantly brightened as he smiled, "We've been waiting for you."
"Sorry about that, Teacher Yu. I was just having lunch," Ji Nian walked in and sat on the couch, pouring herself a glass of water.
Yu Luobai's gaze darkened slightly as he said, "I just saw you having lunch at the company."
Ji Nian's hand holding the cup paused, and she asked in confusion, "You went to the tenth floor too?"
"You were so conspicuous that many employees recorded videos and shared them in the work groups," Yu Luobai said resignedly.
"The videos won't be leaked outside, right?" Ji Nian widened her eyes in surprise.
"No, they won't. The most basic professional ethics for employees at an entertainment company is not to leak videos of their artists. Someone will handle it," Yu Luobai smiled.
"That's good." Ji Nian wasn't worried about the video itself, but more concerned about the antagonist's presence in it.
"What's your relationship with Yuchen ge?" Yu Luobai asked casually.
Ji Nian was taken aback, not understanding why he would ask such a question, and replied, "We don't have any relationship."
"Then... last time in the elevator, were you going home together?" Yu Luobai's gaze was serious.
Ji Nian blinked and nodded, "Um... I guess so..."
"And today you had lunch together..." Yu Luobai felt a tightness in his heart, unsure why he felt this way.
"Mr. Pei is an investor, you know. He happened to visit the crew on location, and then he brought me to the company on his way..." Ji Nian had no choice, as the antagonist was the big boss, and she couldn't offend him.
Yu Luobai's eyes flashed with an indiscernible emotion. On his way? That didn't seem like something Pei Yuchen would do.
"Alright, let's start rehearsing," Yu Luobai regained his composure and smiled.
Ji Nian nodded, "Okay."
"We don't have much time left, with the concert this Saturday," Peng He chimed in.
"I'm suddenly feeling nervous," Ji Nian said, as it was a concert with tens of thousands of people.
"It'll be fine, I'll be there with you. It's better for two of us to be on stage together," Yu Luobai's eyes flashed with a hint of tenderness.
Ji Nian nodded pitifully, "You have a point, it's better than being awkward alone."
Yu Luobai found it amusing and ruffled the woman's hair, "Let's begin."
Meanwhile, He Yi suddenly remembered that she had said she would call the previous villa landlord to ask if they had found a lost phone.
But she had been so busy these past few days that she had forgotten about it. Thinking about it, she immediately made the call.
"Hello, this is He Yi."
"Oh, it's you. What's up?" The landlord answered, sounding surprised.
"It's like this, we lost a phone when we were moving out. Did you happen to find it when you were checking the house?" He Yi asked.
"A lost phone? Oh my dear, it's been so long since then. I remember letting the property management handle everything afterward, and they didn't mention anything about finding a phone," the landlord replied.
"I see. Can you give me the property management's contact number?" He Yi nodded, thinking they probably wouldn't be able to find the phone anyway.
"Sure, I'll send the number to your phone later," the landlord readily agreed.
"Alright, thank you," He Yi said before hanging up.
