Chapter 163: Chapter 163:A Dead End [5]
However, no more spells or sword slashes came as Zach swiftly descended to the floor, battered and bruised.
Well, they didn't know the script of this performance I was hosting, so I couldn't blame them.
They weren't really acting... just doing improv.
Not going forward myself, I sent the corrupted figure towards Zach's injured body, the blood-red daggers still lighting the area around the corrupted figure.
Despite the fact that no more attacks or spells were going to be thrown, the climax was just starting.
Everything before was just the exposition and rising action.
Ordering the corrupted figure to open its mouth, I spoke from behind, shrouding myself in the darkness of the shadow cage to avoid detection of the spirit.
"Give it up."
*PEW*
Lying on the ground, propped up against the barrier of the shadow cage, Zach spat out a handful of blood before turning to face the corrupted figure.
A shrew smirk appeared on his face; Zach pointed at the countless injuries on his body before cockily asking.
"Are you really going to allow your friend to die?"
Pointing the tip of the dagger at Zach's bruised body, illuminating Zach's terrible state and condition for the rest of the main cast, the corrupted figure opened his mouth.
Hiding in the darkness with my dash's usage period already activated, I spoke.
"Fortunately, he's not my friend."
*CLASH*
*CLASH*
As those last few words escaped my mouth, I could hear the sound of weapons dropping to the floor, reverberating throughout the shadow cage.
Almost instantly, those sounds of swords and wands dropping were replaced by footsteps, once again echoing throughout the cage.
Lots of footsteps.
I didn't even have to turn around to know that there were countless people charging at me.
Looking behind the corrupted figure, Zach held his smile up high before using the last of his energy to point in the direction of the sound.
"Looks like his friends won't let you."
Commanding the corrupted figure to continue staring at Zach's bruised body emotionless, I dashed forward.
Still shrouded in the darkness, I was now side-by-side with the corrupted figure, barely escaping from the area lit up by the daggers.
*RUMBLE*
The next second, the entire shadow cage began shrinking.
Without turning back and ignoring the sound of the footsteps readily approaching me, I snapped my figures.
In an instant, the entire shadow cage shrunk and shrunk, faster than at which the pace the main cast was sprinting at me.
Just as the main cast was illuminated by the blood-red daggers of my corrupted figure, the shadow cage finished shrinking.
The next second, the shadow cage cut off, creating new barriers, encircling only me, the corrupted figure, and Zach.
Though I could not hear it, by turning around and peering through the darkness, I could see the entire main cast banging on the barrier of the shrunken shadow cage.
A moment later, the main cast picked up their swords and wands before casting spell after spell...sword slash after sword slash... and shouting some words that I couldn't quite make due to the shadow cage separating us.
Not wasting any more time, I turned around and stared at Zach's injured figure, still oblivious to the shrinking of the shadow cage.
Controlling the corrupted figure to raise the daggers upwards, illuminating the entire shadow cage except for a small part in the corner where I stood, the corrupted figure watched as Zach's smile cracked.
Commanding the corrupted figure to match Zach's smile and open its mouth, I said from behind.
"Looks like it's just me and you now."
As the shadow cage started shaking and trembling from the spells and sword slashes of the main cast, I sighed.
They were quite good actors... when they didn't know they were acting.
Usually, I would have just blamed Lily and Alya for not trusting me, but this time, I had actually wanted them to not trust my words.
This all just added to the effect that I seriously wanted to kill Zach; why else would I blockade off the main cast?
Taking one last glance at the main cast, I sighed.
"I went from a 20v1 to a 1v20 with seconds...I'm back where I started."
Seeing the smile on Zach's face stay unchanged, I also smiled in the shadows before commanding the corrupted figure to raise its daggers.
Like an executioner, the corrupted figure raised the daggers as high as possible before staring down at Zach's figure.
Remembering the behavior profile I had created of the corrupted figure with my eyes, I formed a mental hologram of the corrupted figure in my head.
Placing my mental image of the corrupted figure side-by-side with the real one, I closely watched as the dagger began its descent, aiming right at Zach's neck.
Raising my right hand to my eye, I slowed down my perception time, focusing all my attention on the descent of the dagger below me.
Right beside the real dagger was the mental image of the dagger and corrupted figure I had created in my mind.
All I had to do was watch the differences.
And a difference there was.
As the dagger was about halfway to reaching Zach's neck, it slowed for less than a second, allowing the mental image of the dagger I had created to surpass it.
Without skipping a beat, I immediately dismissed the corrupted figure, causing the blood-red dagger to drop to the ground, narrowly missing Zach's neck.
Confirming that my actions had been successful, Zach's expression transformed from a cocky grin to one of confusion as he stared around the room.
Letting out a sigh, I wiped the sweat that had accumulated on my face.
Was it really all done?
Was this loop finally done?
As the corruption returned to me, I gasped, feeling a pain in my chest.
Covering my chest with a hand, I turned around, seeing a hole begin to form in my shadow cage, allowing countless spells to fly toward me in slow motion.
*BANG*
