Transferred to Another World and Became a Teacher

Chapter 99 - Home Visit

Originally, I had planned to take one day off each week, so I decided to conduct the home visit on that day.

“I’m going to visit Shenley’s family.”

Upon hearing this, Eliza spat out the soup in her mouth. “Buh! Wh-what?!”

“Kyah!?” Liz, sitting across from Eliza, screamed and stood up.

Since the dining table was wide, the damage was minimal, but spitting out soup wasn’t acceptable. By the way, everyone was having breakfast together on this holiday morning.

“Please calm down.”

“How can I calm down?!”

When I tried to admonish her, I got scolded instead. With no other choice, I closed my mouth and took on a listening posture.

Then Eliza also straightened her posture and cleared her throat. “That’s too sudden. Why are you going to Shenley’s home? I’m extremely anxious…”

“I heard that Shenley has to stop attending the academy and return home, so I’m going to persuade her parents.”

“Oh…” Eliza let out a strange sound and looked up at the sky.

For a moment, I felt like I saw the figure of Principal Glenn, but maybe it was just my imagination.

“Is that really okay? I’ve never heard of a teacher directly visiting a student’s home,” Strass, who was listening beside us, asked with a bit of concern.

I nodded and unfolded the letter I had received from Shenley. “The letter mentioned that she would be returning home without any fanfare. It stated that she would withdraw from the academy and that communication would be handled from here. This is certainly not something she can accept, and I can’t just leave it like this either.”

Upon hearing this, Strass crossed his arms and groaned. “That’s true. However, it might be difficult for you to go, Aoi.”

He showed a skeptical expression and tilted his head. Then he let out a shallow breath. “Right now, you are not just a representative of Fiddiq Academy, but you have become a recognized figure by the emperor of Maple Leaf and the current saint and saintess. If such an important person strongly denounces the Rosentiel family, it’s highly likely that there will be some form of punishment externally as well.”

Cote and Eliza nodded at these words, while Shenley frowned anxiously.

“It’s okay. I’m just going as a teacher to discuss this.”

I thought I could persuade them, but everyone averted their gaze and dropped their eyes to the table.

———

Although flying magic consumed a bit more magical power, it was very convenient and practical. I strongly felt its usefulness during this journey.

After all, I was able to cover a distance that normally took almost a week by carriage in just about an hour.

The sensation of the floating carriage slightly changed, and it gently descended to the ground.

“Alright, Shenley, we’ve arrived.” I opened the carriage door.

Shenley stepped out cautiously. “Y-yes…?!”

Then she noticed the surrounding situation and gasped. The road where the carriage had landed was lined not only with soldiers on the road but also a multitude of soldiers surrounding the area, all holding swords at the ready.

Were there a thousand or two thousand? The sight of these heavily armed soldiers brandishing their swords was quite imposing.

“What business do you have in the Viscount Rosentiel territory?! Answer me!” a soldier with a beard shouted angrily. No, since he was mounted on a horse and wearing a grand cloak, perhaps he was a knight.

While thinking this, I looked around once more to confirm that there was no threat before opening my mouth. “I am Aoi Konominato, a teacher at Fiddiq Academy. Recently, a letter arrived for Shenley, the legitimate child of the viscount, instructing her to return, so I escorted her here.”

When I said this, one of the soldiers noticed Shenley. “Shenley-sama? You’ve returned?”

At this voice, the hostility and wariness among the soldiers gradually diminished.

The bearded knight frowned as he looked at Shenley standing behind me, appearing troubled. “… It certainly looks like Shenley-sama, but I haven’t heard of such a thing. I’m sorry, but I would like you to wait here for a while without moving.”

With that, the knight quickly turned his horse around and headed back toward the town.

Although it was difficult to see through the soldier’s formation, there was a small town deeper down the road. Surrounding it were walls about three meters high, marking the boundary between the town’s interior and exterior.

Even after the knight left, I felt uncomfortable being watched by the soldiers.

“… Ah, Aoi-sensei.”

Suddenly, Shenley called out to me with a worried voice. When I turned around, I saw Shenley standing in front of the carriage door, with her head lowered, glancing up at me.

“It’s okay. I’ll talk to them properly.”

I tried to reassure her, but Shenley merely looked at me with an indescribable expression.
