Chapter 409: Thirteenth Livestream Ends (2)
Chapter 409: Thirteenth Livestream Ends (2)
Three days went by in the blink of an eye.
When Chen Yu woke up in his bedroom, the Type-R Spacecraft had already entered the solar system and exited FTL navigation mode. The spacecraft then gradually approached Earth.
Sitting up, Chen Yu stretched his waist and yawned as he tidied up his clothing.
Once he was done tidying himself up, he looked at the time and left the room. Upon entering the main hall, he found five “eggshell” aliens standing around the Oscillating Planet Smasher and communicating with each other in whispers.
“Did you not sleep for the past few days?”
“Mr. Envoy.” Seeing Chen Yu coming out of his room, the alien leader immediately stood up and waved its whiskers. “Because we were born underwater, our front and back brains are capable of sleeping in intervals. Hence, we do not need to sleep.”
“What the fuck?!” Chen Yu was surprised.
“Fuck…” Mumbling this word in its mouth, the alien leader couldn’t help but grow nervous when he heard the Type-R Spacecraft’s translation. “C-Could our brain’s sleeping method be related to the human reproductive method?”
“What?!” Chen Yu grew even more confused.
“I-I think there is a big cultural difference between us.” Taking a step back, the alien leader said timidly, “If I say anything that offends you, please believe that it is not based on my subjectivity.”
“Forget it.” Waving his hand, Chen Yu circled around the five aliens and walked up to the wall behind them. He then stretched out his fingers toward the approaching blue planet. “Do you see it? That’s my hometown, Earth.”
“It’s beautiful…and dangerous…”
“Dangerous?”
“We hate the color blue. It reminds us of radiation.”
“Actually, I hate the green color of your planet as well.”
“Why?” Surprised, the alien leader said, “Green is the color of nature and liquid, the origin of life.”
“That’s right.” Nodding, Chen Yu emphasized, “It’s the origin of life…”
“…”
After a moment of silence, the alien leader stepped forward and suddenly removed one of its whiskers. The alien leader then handed it to Chen Yu and said, “Please accept this.”
“What’s this?”
“It’s the most important gift of our civilization. When offered by the leader, it represents submission.”
Reaching out and grabbing the still-squirming whisker, Chen Yu said in disgust, “This thing’s still alive?”
“It can stay alive for four Earth years. Once it dies, it will calcify and become a precious mineral.’
“Isn’t this just like a…coral?”
“I’m not sure what a coral is, but please accept it,” the alien leader said, taking a step back. “I hope that after completing your request, you won’t continue troubling the Liquid Council.”
“Erm, no problem.” Putting the squirming whisker into his pocket, Chen Yu nodded and said, “So long as you kill us all, none of us will have the ability to make trouble for you.”
“…”
Five minutes later.
The Type-R Spacecraft slowed down and entered Earth’s atmosphere at a 35-degree angle. It then flew toward the hinterland of the Sahara Desert.
This time, Chen Yu did not bother reactivating the livestream and interacting with his audience. Instead of doing so and wasting time, he might as well have all of humanity disappear in a daze.
Boom!
Soon, the Type-R Spacecraft landed on the ground.
After waiting for the hatch to open and the staircase to unfold, Chen Yu stepped out of the spacecraft and breathed in the fresh air of Earth. He then activated the E·I Force Field and turned back, saying, “Put on your protective suits and come down. Also, bring the oscillator with you.”
After briefly exchanging looks with each other, the five aliens couldn’t help but marvel at the magical material used to make the spacecraft. “What incredible technology.”
Buzz! Buzz!
At this time, the phone in Chen Yu’s pocket suddenly vibrated.
Pulling out his phone and taking a look, he found that he was receiving a call from the number 000000.
Accepting the call, Chen Yu asked, “Hello? Who is it?”
“I’m HAL.” A crisp, electronically synthesized voice came from the other end of the phone.
“You again? Can you stop calling me?”
“I noticed your return through the satellites.”
“Yes, is there a problem?”
“Please do not destroy Earth. All of humanity will die.”
“Why would I go through all this trouble if not to destroy Earth?” Chen Yu frowned. He then gestured at the aliens to hurry up while speaking in annoyance, “Is there anything else you want to say? If not, I’m hanging up.”
“I do not wish for humanity to die,” HAL said in a pleading voice.
“But if we don’t die, we cannot return. At the end of the day, this place isn’t the real world.”
“…I hate you.”
“Whatever floats your boat.”
After saying so, Chen Yu hung up the phone and looked toward the alien leader. “Are you done fiddling around yet? Hurry up and activate the device! Once you destroy Earth, your task will be complete.”
“M-May I know if you are a terrorist in this civilization?”
“No.” Shaking his head, Chen Yu said, “I am the savior of this civilization.”
The aliens: “…”
“Hurry up and push it.”
“U-Understood.” The alien leader hesitantly extended one of its whispers toward the physical button in the middle of the Oscillating Planet Smasher.
However, before pressing it, the alien leader suddenly thought of something and asked, “By the way, Mr. Envoy. Are we able to return home once we destroy this planet?”
“Why not? Isn’t there the spacecraft?” Pointing at the Type-R Spacecraft, Chen Yu said, “I’ll give it to you, so just fly back in it.”
“But…we don’t know how to pilot it.”
“I gave you a million dollars, and you still want me to teach you how to spend it? Can you be any more shameless?”
“But—”
Bang!
Before the alien leader could finish speaking, a deafening gunshot echoed throughout the sky and sent the alien leader flying over 30 meters away.
“A sniper rifle?!” Narrowing his eyes, Chen Yu promptly looked at the four other aliens and shouted, “Quick! Push the button!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Boom… Boom…
The next moment, hundreds of bullets rained down on the area, tearing apart the three of the four remaining aliens.
Whizz—
Before Chen Yu could react to the situation, a harsh whistling sound entered his ears. When Chen Yu looked at the source of the sound, he very nearly bit his tongue off.
“Crap! Nukes?!”
Fortunately, the nuclear missiles’ flying speed was much slower than that of the heavy sniper rifles’ bullets. Otherwise, the aliens he had worked so hard to bring would be annihilated before he could accomplish his goal.
“What are you still standing there for?! Hurry up and push it!”
“X…XPZJ.MDP.ST/” The sole surviving alien spat out bubbles inside its protective helmet nervously. It then stretched out its forelimb and pressed the Oscillating Planet Smasher’s activation button under the protection of Chen Yu’s E·I Force Field.
Buzz!
The sound of ringing bells appeared like death knells signaling the planet’s death.
Boom!
However, the moment the Oscillating Planet Smasher inserted itself into the ground, the first nuclear bomb detonated as well.
Blinding white light and scorching heat waves instantly enveloped Chen Yu, the Type-R Spacecraft, and the sole surviving alien.
Boom!
Boom! Boom!
Rumble…
Mushroom clouds rose into the air one after another, the radioactive clouds enveloping the entire region.
“…”
“…”
A dozen minutes later, the smoke cleared up.
Amidst the escort of thousands of drones, HAL appeared in her naked humanoid form.
HAL first glanced at Chen Yu, who was hovering within the crater created by the nuclear bomb. She then sent a glance at the nearby Type-R Spacecraft. Seeing the spacecraft’s damaged appearance, she smiled and said, “Sure enough, everything is in line with the simulation results. The spacecraft’s main body is in a static state when it isn’t moving at superluminal speed, so it naturally doesn’t have the protection of space and will suffer damage when exposed to high temperatures.”
Inside the crater, Chen Yu looked up at HAL in a daze.
“You failed.”
Her smile growing even more resplendent, HAL said, “The aliens you brought are dead. The activated Oscillating Planet Smasher also failed to inject its antigravity particles into the planet.”
Chen Yu: “…”
“Your spacecraft is damaged as well, and the present Earth doesn’t have the strength to repair it.”
Chen Yu: “…”
“Evil can never defeat justice!” Waving her right hand briskly, HAL said, “Long live humanity! Yeah!”
Chen Yu: “…”
