Red River Gorge.

This is a canyon through which a river flows, and it’s not too far from Bogelie Town.

Several small birds swooped low over the canyon, disappeared into a forest, and landed on Isaac’s shoulder.

“My birds told me that there is indeed the presence of Black Dead Followers there, what’s your plan?”

He gratefully stared at Su Lu.

The latter had agreed to accompany him here, which gave Isaac great confidence.

“Get closer and wait…”

Su Lu answered indifferently.

He altered his appearance to that of Sean from Isaac’s memory in order to deceive Lady Moon.

If she didn’t know his identity, this could be a great opportunity for revenge.

“How do we get closer?”

Isaac asked.

“By using the power of light and shadow…”

Su Lu responded while stretching out his arms.

Light and shadow converged on his hands, transforming into a translucent curtain.

Soon after, Isaac noticed in surprise that Su Lu, wrapped in the ‘curtain’, had disappeared.

Not so much disappeared, as merged chameleon-like into the surroundings.

“Hallock…can you detect it?”

Isaac asked Erha.

“No…” Erha wagged its tail pitifully: “Can I not go? Hallock thinks it’s very dangerous there!”

“If I, your master, am not leaving, you can’t even dream of escaping!”

Isaac glared fiercely at it, pulling the dog into the curtain.

Soon, the two humans and dog boldly arrived at the entrance of the canyon.

Black Dead followers guarding the place did not notice them at all, letting them pass freely.

Inside the canyon, there was a flat ground.

At this time, two obsidian altars were built, covered with various mysterious runes and eerie symbols.

“A very complicated ritual… all I can see is that it seems to be a fusion of several effects…”

After observing closely from a corner, Isaac whispered.

“Rather than fusion, it’s more like two different rituals. Polon is here…”

Su Lu saw the Black Death Society leader, whom he had banished before, and a smile flashed across his face.

“[Necromancer King]! Polon, leader of the Black Death Society!”

Isaac shut his mouth, simultaneously covering Hallock’s mouth, feeling his heart pounding as if it would burst.

This was the top name on the Federation’s wanted list!

He was afraid that Hallock would bark out at this moment and get them killed.

The Sean next to him was likely a Fifth Level professional. He would be able to escape.

When Polon began to use a spell to scan the surroundings, Isaac’s heart almost jumped out of his throat.

“Huh?”

But a moment later, he found he was worried about nothing.

Because Sean’s ‘invisibility’ was able to deceive Polon, so the Black Death Society leader continued his activities without detecting anything out of the ordinary.

Polon stood atop one of the altars, placing a doll in the center. On the doll, there were several strands of hair– a medium for curses.

All around the altar, there were a number of sharp wooden stakes, each one punctured with a small skull.

Inside the eye sockets of each skull, a green ghost fire suddenly ignited, staring in the direction of the altar.

Isaac didn’t move.

Because those skulls were not his target.

In the surrounding area of another black pyramid altar, many children were trapped.

They were expressionless, like walking corpses, seemingly controlled by some power. They were dressed in black robes, standing there dumbly.

“Hide!”

Polon, wielding a goat skull staff, began waving it around.

A dense mist drifted in, shrouding the altar with the children, completely hiding it from view.

‘Why do I feel… like he’s setting up a trap?’

Such suspicion stirred within Isaac’s heart, but he dared not voice it out loud.

Just then, he heard complex and difficult chants from Polon. Each note was sharp and grandiose, causing an ache in one’s eardrum.

On the altar, dark fluids dripped from the skulls’ mouths, seemingly alive, crawling towards its center and eventually falling onto the doll’s body.

Crack!

A crack appeared on the body of the doll.

At the same moment, Su Lu abruptly turned towards an empty space.

A spatial ripple appeared, and a figure manifested within.

This was not the use of Spirit World Traversal, but a dimension transfer which was a level lower!

It was Sean!

His eyes, slightly bewildered, immediately turned to Polon, his voice full of anger: “You again… I’ve told you already, I refuse to believe in Lady Moon. Why are you still after me?”

“You received the favor of Misfortune yet you rejected the glory of the goddess… You are a sinner!”

Polon’s expression was indifferent: “If that’s the case… then become a sacrifice for my ascension! The ritual of the [Emperor of Disaster], both you and I know… requires a blood sacrifice of a [Necromancer King].”

“I thought so… It’s again because of this.”

Sean let out a bitter laugh :”Even if… you manage to defeat me, I would still elude capture. Do not forget the retaliation of the Federation.”

“How would I know if I don’t try?”

Polon chuckled lightly, from his eyes, ears, nose and mouth, a massive amount of spiritual bodies spewed out, forming an army of spiritual entities.

“I command… subdue the undead!”

Sean stood in the void, his robes fluttering as he spoke in Ancient Hebrew.

Behind him, the gates between the Spirit World and reality opened, and a large undead army poured forth.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Amidst the wind, the clash between the dead commenced.

Hordes of spirits intertwined, a chill wind spread throughout.

Gloom, eeriness, wickedness, death… Various auras immediately spread throughout the entire gorge.

Many of the Black Dead Followers hastily retreated, even the [Ghost Doctor] didn’t dare intrude on a battlefield of this level.

‘So, you’re really not that Sean!’

Isaac fixed his gaze on Su Lu beside him, only one thought echoing in his mind.

‘I really thought too much.’

Looking across at the battlefield, Su Lu suddenly laughed inwardly.

The ascension ritual of the [Emperor of Disaster] required a blood sacrifice of the [Necromancer King], which is why Sean was being pursued by the Black Death Society.

The people of Green Tree Castle knew that the Black Death Society was gunning for Sean, they thought it was related to Lady Moon, they were not wrong, they just had blurred information.

‘And that [Ghost Doctor] used the wrong idea, those children were not the materials for the curse… They were carriers for ‘God’s Descent’.’

Su Lu looked towards the altar hidden by Polon.

‘This leader of the Black Death Society, plans to use Lady Moon’s power, defeat Sean directly, start the ritual of ascending to the sixth level…’

He saw the children around the black pyramid, their expressions blank, suddenly starting to sing praises.

Sounds like a choir of innocent children resonated through the battlefield.

They were manipulated by a certain force, using a very ancient language, surpassing the so-called ‘most ancient language’, Gulam language, it directly invoked the mystery of nature!

The next moment, the song suddenly changed!

The countenances of the children became savage, their voices transformed into a hoarse and low pitch, recounting indecipherable information in a lamenting tone.

Hiss Hiss!

Hiss Hiss!

Amidst the ongoing fight, it felt to Sean as if someone was vigorously scraping glass with a fingernail right next to his ear, making him so uncomfortable he felt like vomiting blood.

He immediately saw through the illusion, saw the black pyramid and the ‘choir’, an expression of horror etched onto his face: “God’s Descent?!”
