Chapter 355 - No Girlfriend
Chapter 355: No Girlfriend
“If you do that, at least she won’t get hurt by another man, and she’ll be yours. If you’re going to wait for her anyway, why not just do this?” Qin Murong suggested. “As the time you two spend together increases, she’ll slowly come to realize that you’re the best man for her, and she’ll be touched by your kindness toward her. That’s how you’ll be able to win her over and get her to fully accept you.”
Wei Keli’s expression had changed. It was clear that he was intrigued by what Qin Murong was saying.
“Murong, could it be that you already have a plan?” Wei Keli asked in an excited voice.
Qin Murong’s expression began to look troubled as she turned to look at Wei Keli.
“Well…I do have a plan, but I’m worried that you might think of me differently once you hear it,” Qin Murong said hesitantly. “That’s why I’m not sure if I should tell you or not.”
“Come on, we are already close enough for that not to happen.” Wei Keli smiled sincerely. “I mean, if you can tell me, it’s proof that you think of me as a close friend and you want the best for me. You’re even willing to risk ruining your own image. How can I look down on someone who’s trying to help me?”
“Well, you aren’t wrong that we are close now.” Qin Murong smiled. “After all the time we’ve spent together while I was a student, you are already like a little brother to me. That’s why I approached you right away when the idea came to my mind. And that’s also why I’m willing to tell you my opinion even if you might think badly of me after that. But, whether you want to do it or not, that’s your own choice.”
“This is the first time someone has treated me with such kindness other than my own family,” Wei Keli exclaimed. “Who else would do this for me other than you? You’ll always be my close friend, no matter what happens. Even if your idea might seem cruel to other people, I swear not to think badly of you. If I do, then I’m the bad guy here. So, what’s the plan? Even if I don’t go through with it, I promise I won’t tell another person about it. I don’t want you to lose your reputation.”
“Well, if you trust me that much, then I’ll tell you,” Qin Murong said and leaned in to whisper into Wei Keli’s ear.
“What…?” Wei Keli’s eyes widened as soon as he heard the plan.
“Can you do it?” Qin Murong asked, knowing that Wei Keli wouldn’t hesitate to pull off her plan.
“It’s not like I’m asking you to do anything to her for real,” Qin Murong added, disgusted at the sight of Wei Keli pretending to be a gentleman.
She wasn’t wrong. The man was satisfied with the plan, but wanted to act like he wouldn’t be able to pull it off.
“Once you’ve done that, all that’s left to do is for my sis and me to spread some rumors and people will just misunderstand the situation,” Qin Muxiao said. “Even though we aren’t living in ancient times, she won’t think of killing herself after that nor will she give herself to you. However, if sis and I just spread the word and exaggerate the relationship between you and Tan Mo, those who are interested in dating Tan Mo will get jealous. And, if they really believe that you are dating, then that would be even better.”
Wei Keli wouldn’t be the only person who would benefit from the plan. Qin Muxiao wouldn’t gain anything from it.
However, if she could embarrass Tan Mo or harm her interests, then Qin Muxiao would gladly help with the plan. She wouldn’t even mind if she were to lose something from it.
On the other hand, the plan was beneficial to Qin Murong.
What Wei Keli didn’t know was that Tan Mo had become a love rival of Qin Murong’s.
From Wei Keli’s point of view, Wei Zhiqian had always been more like an actual uncle to Tan Mo, and he had never given much thought to their relationship.
However, Qin Murong saw things differently.
In her mind, as long as she could tie Tan Mo and Wei Keli together, then the possibility of Wei Zhiqian and Tan Mo being a thing would be close to zero.
In the end, the Wei family would never let Tan Mo date Wei Zhiqian if she had once dated Wei Keli.
If Tan Mo really dated Wei Zhiqian, who was Wei Keli’s uncle, after dating Wei Keli, then it would be an embarrassment to the Wei family.
Tan Mo was Qin Murong’s biggest love rival at that moment. Even though she had no proof that anything was going on between Tan Mo and Wei Zhiqian, she had decided to remove Tan Mo from the equation before anything could start.
As long as she could separate them, then she wouldn’t have to worry about the future. And she had to made her move now, or else she would lose her chance once Tan Mo and Wei Zhiqian actually fell for each other.
“Are you going to do it or not?” Qin Muxiao asked, getting annoyed at his delay. “Tomorrow’s the day. You better make a decision now so that we can make the arrangements. If you drag this out and decide later, it will be too late to prepare anything.”
She was completely bothered by the fact that Wei Keli was still pretending to be a gentleman and hesitating, that he was struggling to come to a conclusion. There were only the three of them in the car, and they knew each other personalities well.
After a few minutes more of fake struggling, Wei Keli finally nodded and said, “Let’s do it. Let’s make this plan work.”
Qin Murong and Qin Muxiao scoffed to themselves at the same time. They looked down on Wei Keli.
It was as if he was pushing all the responsibility onto them. It was them who had thought of the idea, and they were the ones who were forcing him to execute the plan.
He was making it seem as if he was being forced and wouldn’t take any of the responsibility if things went south.
…
The Qinyang Company and the Weifeng Company were situated fairly close to each other. They were in the same business area in B City.
It was an area where a lot of famous local enterprises had set up their headquarters.
There was just a few minutes’ drive between them.
That was why when work ended, Qin Mufeng parked his car in front of the Weifeng Company and waited for Wei Zhiqian to finish his work.
Picking up Wei Zhiqian was one of the reasons he was there, but he also had to help his sister find out what his best friend had been up to recently.
Plus, Qin Mufeng was curious about it himself too.
After parking his car, Qin Mufeng sent Wei Zhiqian a message: “I’m here.”
“I’m heading down now,” Wei Zhiqian replied.
It only took Wei Zhiqian a few minutes to get from his office to the front door.
He located his best friend’s car and walked over to it.
Qin Mufeng stepped on the gas, and the car left the business area.
As they were driving to their destination, Qin Mufeng nonchalantly asked, “What have you been busy with recently anyway? It’s almost impossible to see you. You used to hang out with us during the weekends all the time, but it’s been weeks since we last saw you. So, um…we were speculating that you might have found yourself a girlfriend?”
QIn Mufeng took a quick glance at Wei Zhiqian after he asked that question.
HAH! Wei Zhiqian laughed in disbelief. “Me? A girlfriend? Do you even hear yourself?”
Wei Zhiqian had always been the same since he was a kid. He was never interested in finding a girlfriend.
However, he was reluctant to admit that.
If his parents or grandparents heard him say that, they would’ve mistakenly thought that he was gay again.
The truth was that he wasn’t interested in dating, which was weird in a sense.
